Just heard that the bedroom was the only room left standing in my niece's home. They were able to get stuff from that room to take with them. Sure glad they decided to ride out the storm at a friend's!

My girlfriend just got back home to Florida. Said it looked like a war zone, but their house was undamaged. Thanking God for small things today!

Good luck on the quiz, Maw!

Having people over this week so need to get the house cleaned tonight. And walk the dogs.

Glad you're OK, Iva!

DB's house near Jacksonville Florida is OK, as are his boat and dock. (He lives right on a canal.) No power yet, though. He's in GA, near Atlanta, doing some work for a former employer. No power there, either, so he can't work. SIL is in Houston with her son, who is OK after Harvey hit there. Niece, fiance and cat, who all live in St John, US Virgin Islands, are going to Fort Meyers until things calm down in St. John. What a mess. But the deaths and injuries are amazingly few for the size and destruction caused by Irma and Harvey. At least Jose veered out to sea and didn't hit St John again.

Exercise class yesterday was good. I definitely worked up a sweat, even though the teacher kept saying that she was starting us slow. A bit stiff yesterday, but fine today. The class, "Over 60 and Getting Fit," is free. The college offers four or five other classes for those of us over 60 - Zumba (might be two classes, not sure), Pilates, Yoga, and Strength Training. I'm going to stick with the basic class this semester, but might add one of the others next semester.

"Big quiz" tomorrow in Japanese. Not a test, not an exam, just a big quiz. Best get back to studying.

LOL! Tu or Th it's still the 12th of September. emoticon

Moving slow again today. I did ride the stationary bike for 35 minutes and yoga for 35 minutes. I did the best I could do on the Pilates Reformer last night.

Food good. Temperatures the way I like Summer. I've heard from just about all my family & friends in the Florida area. Still a few that haven't checked in. What a mess!

Instead of mopping the kitchen floor I'm going to take a nap. I'm retired and I'm ready to just crash and drink water & listen to my audio book. I may attend the shallow/deep water class tonight . . . maybe . . . or I may just do nothing. (or continue to do nothing . . . ) I love retirement! Hugs to all!

Breathe in . . . breathe out.

We survived here in SE GA. Surrounding communities are still without power. Actually, I think there are areas within OUR community still without power. My school has ceased to be a shelter for emergency personnel out of Brunswick because it is without power.

Since our schools are still acting as shelters, we are out of school until at least tomorrow. We'll probably get an update at some point today or tomorrow as to whether we'll have school on Thursday.

Did y'all see where Jose is in Irma's path? I'm not sure where he'll land, but even if he doesn't land here, there's still the devastation of the islands on top of another storm that I think the nation is keeping an eye on.

On a completely unrelated and superficial note - I had an 80-day streak going and didn't log in yesterday...back to day 1.
