OMG, Connie, he actually said he has no money and wants someone to make his life better??!! You have so much more class than me so I'm sure you handled it well. I almost fell off the sofa reading your post, so if he'd said that to me I probably would have told him to nut up and make his own life better!! I guess he gets points for being honest... I don't guess I have a ton of tolerance for people who want to drain other people for what they can get.

You're dealing with a load of immensely frustrating experiences, so don't stifle the emotions! Complain, cry, whine, and VENT. You are way too strong to stay stuck there, so venting is good. (((hugs)))

I had a wonderful day off work! I got up early and worked out and then did some errands and worked at the range with a fresh, functioning brain. My client, the owner, also had a fresh, functioning brain and we got a lot done - enjoyably. Is that a word? I'm not so perky and now it looks stupid but the spellchecker didn't choke on it.

I think that's one of the reasons I hesitate to join a gym. I used to do Zumba classes at the Y, and it was convenient because I was already just sitting there waiting for my boys to finish their karate classes, but as soon as they moved on I never looked back. I just can't bring myself to go somewhere just to waste calories. Maybe if it was a sport that I enjoyed it would be different, but to spend a precious hour out of my day running on a treadmill to nowhere that doesn't even have the capability of generating some electricity totally doesn't appeal to me.

Gail, isn't it amazing the power there is in just checking in here?

feels like summer. very nice.
i just came in from feeding the horses. my mini horse likes to be hosed down in this heat. when i turn on the hose to fill the trough, he wanders over then turns his back to me so i can give him a shower. he's so cute.
have gained a couple pounds not spending time on this site and not tracking my food. naughty me. i guess i better be checking in here again.
our holiday is july 1st. the fireworks were very nice. it was very busy for our taxis though and i had to drive for a while that night. i rarely drive taxi at night. i never thought to bring a flashlight to check house addresses. it was a bit of a pain in the butt. but, i managed. everyone was in a holiday mood. nice. emoticon
hope all my american friends have a terrific 4th of july. emoticon emoticon

Exercise! Maybe if we lived in 'the good old days' when we had to plow, milk, gather, mill our grain, pump our water, chop our wood, clean our fireplaces, ovens, wash & hang laundry, butcher, etc. then we wouldn't even think of the word 'exercise'. Now we live in 'the good days' and we have machines, stores, gas heat, electricity, gas, . . . I'll bet you got the picture.
Very few of us even walk to the grocery store and carry our bags home. If we don't have dogs there isn't a reason to walk and watch the world. LOL!

There are days that I ENJOY and look forward to laying on my couch with a remote in my hands. When I'm feeling sad, depressed, etc. is usually when I'm NOT moving my body.

Today I felt like my brain was going to explode. Pipes leaking, kitchen sink water pressure is the same as it was when he started this project, man that I met declared that he has no money & is looking for someone that can make his life easier, and I thought I was going to have an aneurism. Now, that's funny right?????

We are short instructors so I'm doubling up on classes. I wanted to SNAP at everyone. (Debb, I get IT!) . . . There was a breeze over the concrete, it was a small class, I was 'out of sync' and it was NOT an easy procedure for me. I adapted my routine; it took 30 minutes before I 'kicked out of my funk'. Then I had 30 minutes to enjoy the remainder of the workout. My brain still wanted to explode but my endorphins helped me to smile in a natural manner.

As I was driving home I thought, OMG, if I lived the life of my grandparents,or even my parents; I would never be going to a place where we pay money to 'exercise' (move my body). How funny is that thought????? When I was a kid, our gardens were HUGE and took work every single day. The lawn was mowed every single day, weeds were pulled every single day, clothes had to be hung out on the line and then brought in, folded, sprinkled, ironed, starched . . . yadda yadda yadda . . . . I am a lucky woman that I lived and experienced true house work, yard work and going to relatives homes to continue helping with their yard work, washing curtains, stretching the curtains to dry, washing the windows, . . taking down the shades, unrolling them, washing them, drying them, re-rolling the shade and rehung . . . LOL . . .

Now, aren't you happy to 'exercise'? I know, throw tomatoes and mud at me. Hugs

PS . . . I'm making strawberry freezer jam tonight to take to the July 4th gathering tomorrow. and yes, I do teach a class tomorrow for all members of a Health Club that want to Exercise to get their day started. LOL! Do you have any rotten veggies & fruits to throw at me????

Love you All!

Hugs to Surround Us All as a Group! Connie, in WI

I created a goal that starts today. I will remain on low carb eating under 50g net carbs, more than 50% fat, and start doing exercises every day. It will not be anything crazy, to be honest. I am starting with the Beginner 4 Week program with Fitness Blender. It has a fitness test at the beginning so that makes me happy. I am starting this program so I can work towards doing Insanity again. I loved it when I did it at 290 pounds and am looking forward to doing it again!!

Challenges for the rest of 2014 (from 9/1):
Burn 3000 calories/week with DDR
ST 90min/week
10% body weight lost by 1/1/15
Complete True Beginner, Core, Recover, and Cardio on DailyBurn
Exercise at least 10min/day for 100 days this year

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.

Exercise. Ugh.

Supposed to be hot again today. I took the dog for a very slow amble yesterday afternoon when it was 92. Between the clouds and slow pace and the dry air it wasn't bad. Will take her out again today.

Started the day by taking my brother to the airport at 5 am. Fortunately he feels like I do about people waiting around until you leave. After being together for the past 13 days, we've said all there is to say, and the airport isn't all that far from the house. I dumped him on the curb and came home and went to bed.

Nothing else planned for today except maybe grocery shopping.

Have a great day everyone.

Besides eating low carb, which has regained a good chunk of my health, I've finally found the time to exercise each morning for the last 4 days.

I'm starting slowly. I do my first two karate forms, twice each, at slow speed, 10 jumps on the skipping rope between each form, plus 5 push-ups. I'm just starting to feel a bit of perspiration at the end. As my body gets healthier I'm sure it will pick up the pace, but I'm not pushing anything.

I saw a number of people on the "Ideal Protein" group who wanted to regain their health too quickly. Do nothing for years, then start that diet, which is low carb (20-40 grams a day) as well as low calorie (800 - 1100 a day), and want to do "boot camp" until you puke. They were practically passing out. Small wonder on the low calories and on the fact that it takes a few weeks to a month or two to get into ketosis to the point of being able to do athletics in fat burning mode.

Happy Independence Day Eve!

Debating whether or not to take a half day today. It has nothing to do with wanting to cut out early and everything to do with Kyle and his unending task list. *shrug* I'll figure it out I guess.

Running late already today, so I'm gonna go and get my morning break in right now. Have a great day, everyone!
