{hugs} to you Connie. Treat yourself with extra care and GOOD food.

I love Corelle, in fact I've been looking around for a new set. I think I want plain white this time. My current pattern from about 1992 doesn't match and I've broken so many pieces that I bought some cheap IKEA dishes to fill in. It lasts practically forever though, my IKEA dishes are already chipped and break so much easier.

Kris - that is too funny that we share a name and we're both Dutch. I haven't been to Holland, though I would love to go. My parents went several years ago, visited relatives on both sides of the family. Both of my Grandfathers emigrated from there, my Grandmothers were born here I believe but Dutch also. The story is that my maternal grandfather was a teen when they came here, his father contracted TB and died shortly after they were settled. Then their house burned down. My grandpa was the oldest and helped take care of the family. He didn't marry until he was much older, and my grandmother was 18 years younger than he was!

I feel for you, Finalee, I learned thru years of dealing with troubles not to let the broken record keep running thru my mind. I learned to turn it off with prayer. It keeps popping in, but you learn to accept the things you can't change and not to dredge up harmful thoughts of things that have no control over....put on some happy music, go for a walk, whatever makes you relax.

Hey Gang, I'm dealing with emotions that came up the forefront again. GRrrrrrrrrrrr!

Breathe in . . . breathe out. I've stayed busy today. After I taught the noon class, I cleaned out my car. The handyman cut the grass, I pulled weeds, he attempted to help me with a shelf that fell off the wall in the bathroom. (That didn't work.)

I've changed the sheets on my bed. I've washed the sheets & hung them out. Then I washed a load of work out clothes & hung them out. My back was achey so I sat in my hot tub for 40 minutes.

I have another load of light colored workout clothes and a blanket that I use on my couch in the washer. I'll use the dryer for the blanket and I'll hang up the other clothes to dry. I still have to put the cases on the pillows. I have a chocolate protein shake sitting to soak up some chia seeds.

I have no one to call to groan and moan. Sometimes emotions are so tangible they overwhelm me. Now, if they were positive emotions all would be GREAT! It's the painful emotions that cripple me. I usually go to food. I'm just going to have to breathe.

Frustration. I'm only responsible for myself. I need to chant that phrase many times tonight.

Enjoy the evening. Thank you for reading.

my friend is halfway through a month long vacation in holland. she was born there. her family moved to canada over 50 years ago. seems like they are still pretty close to the dutch relatives though. she is staying with her cousins and they are touring her everywhere. she has posted pics and it is so beautiful.
i'm excited that this is a long weekend. don't have any plans, but, i love a long weekend. even though i usually work, it gives me 3 days of not answering the phone. emoticon

I have plain white Corelle, too, and my glasses are by Libby! I do have a set of my grandmother's china, but I'm afraid to use it because I can't find replacement pieces. Not even at Replacements, Ltd, or whatever that huge replacement company is. They don't even have a record of her pattern. So the party's going to have to be at Mom's house!

Maw, that is an awesome collection of dinnerware... I have mugs that have sentimental value, but my dishes are half a set of plain white Corelle! My ex-husband kept the other half and I just never cared enough to go get something classier. LOL Lifestyles have changed and needs have changed, and I am glad I do not have room to store a lot of stuff. Or polish silver.

I'm so glad it's Friday. I'm leaving early, much to the Danish Menace's dismay I'm sure, and I'm meeting someone at the gun range. We're going to talk about scheduling a training class just for women and get me on track to start a new chapter of The Well Armed Woman in my area. We're also going to shred some paper targets... :) This will be fun and therapeutic for me. I worked there for five hours yesterday, so I'm hoping I can skate out of there after playing. I'll probably have to work a bit there on Saturday, but I'm also hoping for a haircut appointment on Saturday as well. There's definitely more time opening up in my schedule, and I'm so relieved!

BUDGETMAW,

At one stage in my life I bought all plates, cups, serving trays etc. in plain white, and with no decoration in colour or textured design.

So it more or less looked like it belonged together.

As I recall, Mom has service for 12 in one china pattern, service for 16 in another, service for 12 in Corelle, service for 12 in each of two patterns of bamboo picnic war, and service for 12 in Chinese dishes (several little bowls and plates for serving several courses of a Chinese dinner). Plus service for 24 in one hostess set and service for at least eight in another and a demitasse set for eight. Oh, and soup bowls and big plates for soup and sandwiches in service for at least four. Service for 12 in two sizes of silver goblets (Dad's idea!), and for 12 in several sizes of crystal (actually it's pressed glass) and for at least 8 in two different sizes of one pattern and one in, I think, two other patterns. Remember the days when everyone had china and crystal and silver? Mom kind of overdid it, though one set of china came from when Dad was stationed in Korea and the other when we stationed in Taiwan, and I think some of the crystal was inherited.

Kris, I'm LOL at the numbers of stuff. I started my declutter in 2008. OMG . . . when I packed up all the stuff . . . I was mesmerized by what I thought I 'needed'. WOW!

The City came by yesterday to review what I wanted to do to my front yard. (If I posted this yesterday, sorry for the repetition.) It sounds like 'they' are going to let me pour additional concrete in front, widen my steps adding enough room for a chair and handrail. Seriously, they have all these zoning and rules. I'm pulling out all the shrubs that have been in front of the house before 1980. Those shrubs are evergreens and took a BAD HIT this winter.

The guy is coming to mow & trim the entire yard. Then he will cut back the side shrubs. Every 5-6 years I have those shrubs cut in half. They look bad for a year and then they fill out & grow.

I woke up feeling FAT today. I've just been creeping carbs into my diet. I'm a carb addict. Seriously, I may need to go to a cleansing place for a week. More water, more spinach, more eggs, I need protein.

I taught AquaKickboxing this morning. The class was fun. I left my H2O in my car. I had a portion of my protein shake with me but I needed H2O. My mouth tastes so bad . . . I'm soaking wet with sweat. I go back at 11:30 to meet with one of the owners. Then I teach at noon.

Life is GREAT! I want to feel JOY! I want to OPEN my heart to the Universe and find humor, joy and Energy in LIFE! YIPPPEEE! I'm a very lucky Woman. I want to Celebrate!

52 mugs?! Yikes, where do you even store that much stuff? Flylady is wonderful.

We set a record low last night of 25, previous was 32. I brought all my plants inside last night, I may leave them in tonight too, even though it's only supposed to be 34.

Tomorrow my parents and I are heading to Orange City, IA where my sister lives, for the Tulip Festival. I haven't been to the festival for several years, and actually my motivation for going is to get new prescription sunglasses from my brother in law - he's an optometrist. All that good Dutch food is going to be very tempting though, especially the almond patties. My nephews will be in the parade playing their horns and marching in their wooden shoes. Yes, I am Dutch, it will be a good time.

Woubbie- did you eat carbage yesterday or you are just plain pooped??? It has to feel great to have been productive, tho. I love me some productive days!!
I am still helping out my niece. She is mending and seems to be enjoying my Fly Lady tricks. We are making good progress…No single woman needs 52 mugs, 12 travel cups, 13 water bottles and 18 vases….you get my drift!
Might go home tomorrow instead of driving all the way to the Zumbathon in So Cal…..kinda disappointing…………..

Chilly, rainy, bleh. Kyle's going camping this weekend - he always seems to get stuck with crappy, rainy weather for camping!

Got a lot of things off my list yesterday, but I'm paying for it today. I have zero motivation to do anything, I'm tired, I'm sleepy, but if I don't get some work done here it will seriously come back to bite me.

But I still don't feel like doing anything....

Got the results of the halter monitor test back. It came back negative, of course. No problems. I'm not surprised. First, because that's the way it goes - you never have symptoms when you're being tested for them! And second, because I didn't feel any problems when I was wearing it. Grrrrr! Oh well. I see the cardiologist on Thursday and I'll talk to him about it. At least the EKG they did at the walk in clinic showed the problem. It's not entirely in my head!

It finally hit me that if I'm leaving in less than four weeks and will be gone for a month (going back to Idaho for a one week family reunion at Priest Lake in Northern Idaho and will spend the rest of the time helping Mom get ready and helping her recover), I'd better start getting ready! Not packing, but getting the house cleaned up and whatever is going to be done outside done. If it ever stops raining that is, regarding the outside!

Tutoring session this morning, then house cleaning this afternoon. No errands to run today!
