I can manage a do it or don't do it on a daily basis too... I'm with the rest of you, all those points were confusing. I need to keep things "kiss"... (Simple stupid for a simple mind) :)

I like Do It (Don't Do It) - I can't keep up with points. Way too confusing and detailed for me, but I could see doing a once a day check in at the end of the day with one thing we each did right and one thing we managed to avoid. Like a Did and a Didn't - for example: Did - ate on plan, and Didn't - eat out of the candy bowl at work.

The don't do it part is don't do things you shouldn't do. Like don't eat candy or don't drink alcohol or don't let yourself get so tired you cave or don't do whatever.

I like the Do It/Don't Do It idea too, I could come up with one Do and one Don't. I'm not really into points either, but I may tally my own outside of the thread and reward myself with something I've been wanting at the end of the month if I earn a certain number of points. I haven't tried this before but maybe it will be more motivating to me, I need all the help I can get in December!

that works.. so for the challenge should we post like at the end of each day either :

did it or didn't do it?

For me I just need some type of accountability (so maybe I will just do that.. lol ;) )

At the end of day it's not about what you "CAN" do or "PLANNED" to do- it's about what you DID.

To paraphrase Naypooie's idea, how about "Just Do It (Or Don't) in December"? And let folks decide what they are going to do and what they aren't going to do. Both are important.

As for points, they don't do anything for me. If they help the rest of you, fine, but I'd just as soon not use them.

I am new to this team but I was thinking of doing another point system. Since we are all on different plans per say it could be this:

1 point: posting on this forum
1: completing the exercise for the day
1: sticking to meal plan
1: drinking 8 cups of water

for a total of 4 points (again) per day... thoughts??

At the end of day it's not about what you "CAN" do or "PLANNED" to do- it's about what you DID.

Fat is choice - it's time I stopped making bad choices!!!

Okay, how about Nay's suggestion - Do it in December - and we can each pick what it is we want to do towards our own forward progress??

I'm starting a new job on Monday and after meeting with my future boss today I can tell it is going to be very challenging. That means I will have to plan, set up stuff the night before, use my crockpot, and do a lot of food prep on Sunday. That also means I may come home at night and do a full face plant into bed without having any leftover energy or attention to channel into making good decisions! Happily I live very close to the new office and it is in a very lightly developed industrial area - no fast food, no groceries stores, and no derailments anywhere near my new commute (which is a total of two turns and three stop signs...)!

I shall have no excuses other than complete mental exhaustion!

I was thinking digging down deep in December.
Everyone can Tweek the challenge for them selves. But for me it's going to be eat on plan everyday in December besides for me I'll take 24,25,26 and 31 off. But every other day I will eat on plan plus get in my exercise. Something along thoughs lines.

Albert - the best advice I ever heard on dealing with holiday parties is to eat before you go. If you go on a full stomach, you won't be as tempted to eat the garbage.

Here is my suggestion for a specific challenge:
Don't eat any high carb foods at work.
If your office or work place is anything like mine, you will be flooded with sugar and simple starches over the next few weeks. Most of these things will be gifts from people outside our organization who won't have any idea who is eating them. So, there will be no pressure to eat other than my internal sugar cravings.
I intend to resist the temptation to munch on that crap.
Instead, I will make sure my desk and fridge are stocked with low carb goodies (nuts, cheese, etc)
I will try to get adequate sleep (to avoid the sleep deprivation cravings).
And I will avoid, as much as possible, the offices and desks filled with sugary, starchy treats.

I'm up for any challenge as long as it's a) not complicated, b) keeps me focused on something positive, and c) does not over-commit me!

Other than that I'm easy...

Do what? Don't do what? I almost want to say Trick or Treat in December. We get soooo many treats in our office which are mostly high carb! Those would be the tricks and it would be up to us to find a real treat out of the situation or whatever... just a thought.

Do you realize that it's almost December already? So what is the December Challenge going to be? There are only 4 of us doing the November Challenge. We're few but we're mighty! I hope someone will come up with a challenge for December that more of us can get in to. I know the challenges really help me.
