Depends on what I'm doing. Doing heart zone training now, so - in the gym 45-50 minutes, outside usually longer (but much prettier!)

Oh my gosh -- I am so impressed with the amount of everyone's exercise! I stick close to the original Spark People suggestion: 3 days of strength training (about 20 minutes in the mornings) and 20-30 minutes of cardio 5-7 days a week. I know you're supposed to change it up a lot, but I have a lot of physical problems -- arthritic and fibromyalgia issues as well as a torn rotator cuff and a very bad foot from a failed joint implant. Unfortunately, even walking any amount is hard for me, so I basically ride my exercise bike every night while I watch tv during my down time. Thankfully the bike doesn't have any impact, but sometimes 20 minutes is still all I can manage. I feel like such a wimp! At any rate... this schedule helped me lose 30 pounds a couple years ago (and keep MOST of it off [hence my 17DD journey!]).

I go to Zumba classes (1 Hr.) 3 nights a week.

On the days I don't go to Zumba, I walk 5 miles (1 Hr. 20 Min.) when the weather permits and on days that are rainy or snowy, I do a Leslie Sansone 5 mile WATP DVD.

One thing I learned while I was on C1 was that I need enough protein prior to working out in order for my muscles to perform. One Saturday a.m. I decided to go to the Zumba class and didn't have breakfast beforehand - my legs felt like jelly and I could barely move midway through the workout.

I'm on C2 and when I get to C3 I'm going to do both the walk and the Zumba on the same day.

The scale has not been moving for me much at all; in fact, I decided to just weigh once/week. However, LOTS of people are noticing the inch loss. My size 14 jeans were getting a little baggy so I tried on an old pair of 12's and they fit perfectly. So with the exercise, I think it's good to measure and focus more on the inches than the pounds.

I exercise daily, normally 2 classes each day (have done this for years) but find it challenging on C1. I push through it but I tend to tire faster. It's not as bad on C2. When I was fully compliant in January, I felt rundown and actually caught two back to back colds which is totally not normal for me. This time I plan to eat a little more and maybe exercise a little less and see if I do better. I also noticed toward the end I was always cold which makes me think my metabolism was slowing too which couldn't be good. Does anyone else have these same issues?

I generally try to do 35-45 mins of cardio 5-6 times a week...mostly on the elliptical or on the treadmill at a high incline and at least 3.7 speed. Not terribly fast but I break enough of a sweat. I have a monster commute so weekdays I don't generally do more than that - weekends I try to do more cardio - I might add the bike for 20-30 mins in addition to the other cardio. I do best early in the morning, so I'll have a kefir/fruit/baby spinach smoothie and my lemon water before exercising. I'm still struggling to incorporate strength training but that's one of my goals for March ... to add that up to 3 times a week.

I'm concentrating on target heart zone training! Love it for all the things it does for me. At this age (70), weight training is really important. Just joined the local gym so that will be happening soon!

I'm thinking you just need to tone rather than actually lose weight - so strength training will probably be your quickest route to your goals....

Good luck - whatever you decide!!!

I workout anywhere from 1-1.5hrs which would be both weights and cardio. I try to workout in the mornings after bfast so i will eat some kind of protein and fruit. Or, a cup of kefir and fruit. After, is basically protein wirh a huge salad.

I am on c1 - I exercise by walking for an hour a day. I don't eat or do anything special before or after walking.

During c2 I add 2 additional 15 minute walks.

C3 is more of the same but an occasional bike ride will be added.

Not what I count as exercising is stretching with dd. It's an important part of her sport but she doesn't think about doing it unless I get on the floor and do it with her.

Sometimes I add an exercise dvd but only if it's not nice enough to be outside. I've learned I have to love what I am doing or I stop. I work a stressful job and walking really does help me be a better employee when I get back to my desk.

Adding - I work 40+ hours a week and then my daughter has activities till about 6 or 7 nightly. When I get home all I want is dinner, to clean up and to go to bed.
