Good morning and thanks team mates for all your support. I feel better today and I am on C2 today. I am so afraid of adding starch (good carbs) to my lunch only. My hubby is going to make Dr. Mikes Power Cookie and I can't wait to taste at least one emoticon

@Jolyn - I just have to chime in here and say you lost 3 lbs and INCHES and you're within 6 pounds of your ideal weight. I think that's remarkable. As someone else said you don't lose as much when you're close to your goal.

Kathy, I didn't know you were 70, you look terrific.

I just turned 63 in December, so looks like we are very close in age. I think there are a few of us young chicks in here lol.

You are very welcome!! I used to use it religiously when I was still living on the east coast - and am going back to the system now (after my new monitor arrives). I love it!! It's great for all levels of training.....

I used her "Heart Zone Training" book - I haven't read the others, but that one is an all-around terrific training method!

@Truthnow2 - I just need to get grip and pull myself out of this self-pity hole! emoticon

I think I am going to have my 1st glass of wine tomorrow to celebrate our little victory and also wake my system up.... emoticon
Ooops wine is not in the C2 plan....well I just have to be satisfied with green tea!

@KATHYMAG - I like going to group classes in my gym and I just want to get down to my goal weight. I don't have much muscles because I have just started the weight classes not too long ago. I love Zumba and at my age, I need strength and weight exercises too. I used to do Zumba 4-5 times a week until I pull a sciatic nerve & right leg hamstring about 2 months ago. Then I had to stop Zumba and went for PT for a month. Now I am back to Zumba but only twice a week and had to add in weights & hot yoga classes.

@kathymag... thank you for the website. i was just trying to think of something fresh i can try to get a grip. i looked back at my trackers here and realized i set a goal about using the rebounder for 3 min. and taking my heart rate. i never did. but, now i will and i will look at that site because i think i am ready to see what my heart wants to do.

First of all, congrats on your three pounds!!! (Even the BL contestants have times when the scale doesn't move for them).

A few thoughts that I definitely agree with:
1. You don't have a lot of weight to lose, so your results aren't going to be as cha-ching as those of us that started over 200#.
2. You are exercising a lot (and your muscles are thanking you for sure)....BUT!! Muscle is dense - and weighs heavily when toned, so I'm sure some of your 146 pounds is sheer muscle!!

My own two cents for whatever it's worth:

3. If you want to shift your exercise a bit, I'd recommend looking into Sally Edward's Heart Zone Training methods. She is an excellent coach and has different exercise schedules depending on what you want to achieve, what equipment you are using and the results you are looking for. Her training suggestions require a heart rate monitor - (unless you really *WANT* to be taking your pulse manually all the time)......but, I'm telling you - the methods really work.....I recommend the programs she offers very highly. I'm putting her link out here, with a note that the books are very reasonable on Amazon. com.

Keep on truckin', girl - you're doin' fine!!

P.S. - Boys always lose weight faster than girls.....so - make the scale the least of your indicators - the way your clothes fit, how you feel, how you look......much better indicators!!

@Jrautio...

I totally understand what you are saying about feeling "content" with the results and then "whammo". Steroids are powerful. So, you might have to really really ramp up being prepared in advance for hunger and finding things to eat instead of crap that you don't even like.

I know it is so much easier said than done. but, i do believe you posting it is a very strong step in the best direction.

so, as i tell you this... i know i need to get a game plan too. last week i used the daily challenge. this week i didn't. hmm. wanna guess which worked for me?

I really don't have anything to add to the fine responses you got here.

I just want to pull out one of your sentences for you to look at: "He even commented that I have my hour-glass figure back and my tummy is flatter than before the start of this 17-DD. " Now that seems like a remarkable success story for just one cycle. The scale is NOT the best measure... it really isn't.

You are doing great, JOLN! You will get there! I, on the other hand, have crashed and burned horribly. I think because I was feeling "content" with my results. Plus I've started a new med that contains steroids, which I am sure has affected my appetite. I am eating crap I don't even normally LIKE!! Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!!!! I'm with you, though -- want to get to the bottom of the 10 pounds and be DONE with it. I have to get a (fresh!) grip!

@JRAUTIO - I have been exercising 1 hr/day x 5 days/week. So i am going to cut back my exercise classes especially body-pump (not my favorite to work with barbells). Hopefully that will work.

@PRLUVLEY & @ANGELLINDA - I have been drinking my fresh lemon juice-warm water every morning and lots of water (more than 64-ozs) and green tea throught the day even when I am not on 17-Day. Also, I do not have TOM (time of month) anymore so that's definitely not my problem. I have to spell that out because my hubby is named Tom.... emoticon so when my Tom reads this, he doesn't think I am talking about him.

My Tom has been very supportive and he was saying that I don't have much to lose like CRISCIM has just said. I did lose inches - total of 3 inches overall. He even commented that I have my hour-glass figure back and my tummy is flatter than before the start of this 17-DD. But it would be nice to lose 10 lbs and then I am done with it and move on to C4.....hahaha. Unfortunately life is not that simple for me.

I am so glad I found this team and you guys have been very supportive and I need to lift myself out of this self-pityville!!

One more thought... you don't have a lot of weight to lose. People tend to lose pounds slower when they're closer to their ideal weight, and that looks like where you are. Make sure you keep track of your measurements and how your clothes fit. That may be where you see the biggest difference.

I have to agree with Julie here...seems like you exercise an awful lot and that you aren't getting enough of the protein or veggies for your body to keep up with the exercise. I am sure once you are on c2, that your body will react the way it is supposed to because you are going to be confusing it with eating c1 one day and c2 the next.
I think 3 lbs is still a good loss...it could be your body type too.
Remember men lose an awful lot more weight than women...could be your TOM too.

JOLN888, just curious how much exercise are you getting in. It sounds like you are exercising quite a bit -- is it an hour each time? Two hours? I'm wondering if you would back down a little with the exercise you might see more results. You could just be burning enough calories with the exercise that your body is going into starvation mode since the calories on C1 aren't a large amount. Even though that seems counter-productive, sometimes that's all it takes -- I had the same thing happen when I was just following the regular spark diet.

No need to beat yourself up!:) Have you been doing your daily morning lemon water? And, drinking enough water? Water really is a major tool in weightloss.

I only lost 3 lbs and waist-2 ins and hips-1in. Today is my D17 in C1. I have been exercising 4 days a week - zumba, body-pump and hot yoga. I am so disappointed with myself. I did not detour from the diet plan.

My hubby, on the other hand, lost 19 lbs and he works out 5 days a week- just cardio and weights. What's wrong with me??? Why is my metabolism so slow?? During this C1 period, my weight has been a YoYo....up and down between .5 to 1 lb.

I am afraid to start C2 tomorrow. I am happy that I will be able to add some good carbs but then apprehensive that I will put the 3 lbs back on. emoticon
