Been there...
- I listened to diet self hypnosis tapes or did it on my own
- I read The Self Compassion Diet by Jean Fain and
The Gabriel Method by Jon Gabriel
- I avoided anything that triggered my cravings; for example, I didn't watch TV for a week at first until my cravings were really gone. If you can get through the first 5 days on this they will disappear.
- I watched the motivational videos on www.fatloser.com

For emotional eating it's also about identifying your triggers. When you're craving, what emotion is it? Are you happy i.e. celebrating? Bored? Angry? Once you ID the emotion, find alternate ways of coping with it like exercising, reading a self help book, listening to soothing music, meditating etc. LSG suggested once that I take up knitting to keep my hands occupied and I did!

Most importantly join our affirmations topic and replace that negative self talk! Evertime you say to yourself that you can't stick with it repllace it with the thought that you can do anything, especially for a few days!

Jenny, when I've been very good about limiting the bad carbs and sugars, those cravings have gone away. In fact, at that point, that stuff doesn't even SOUND good so it's much easier to avoid them. If I slip up and eat something in a weak moment, though, it pretty much starts over. I try not to let myself get tempted and just focus on the healthy things. Easier said than done, though, I KNOW! --Julie

I am a sugar and carbs addict and am an emotional eater..... I have gained 12 kgs...... and am trying to get out of this but somehow slip back into this after being good for a day or two ..... i was never like this before and this addiction is affecting all the other areas of my life..... got diagnosed with hypothyroidism and that seems to make it worse ......

did you go through the same feeling ..... even though i know its so bad for me why is it soooo hard to give it up emoticon ..

I used to be crazily active and fit ..... stressed and issues lead me here ... I know i am resposible but finding it very tough to kick this EVIL
