Thanks for all the kind words, everyone! Mom was released from the hospital last night and went back to her memory care facility -- apparently none the worse for wear. No broken bones or other evidence of injury from falling. We're guessing it could have been some type of minor stroke, but she is back to being herself.

I am back on track and hoping for no more "disruptions" for a while. emoticon

Let's just stick to and we will get there! Thanks again for the support!

Julie, I like how you went off track a couple of times but in the middle of it you got back on. You could have just stayed off for the remainder of the nite but you didn't! Hope your Mom isn't too bad and gets back to her home soon.

Julie,
I'm so sorry to hear about your mom; that is so hard to deal with so don't beat yourself up and Samsullivan I love what you said about today being a new day. You are so right and as another person who didn't do so well yesterday, I am ready to start my new day too. So let's go team, we can do it!! Had my greek yogurt and fruit, off to exercise so off to a good start but of course I don't usually "fall off" until later so the challenge is ahead of me....but I can do it and so can all of you!

Well, I had a SAMSULLIVAN day on Monday. I was 100% compliant til 7:00 p.m. when I walked into the kitchen and shoveled in every piece of bad Easter "goodies" I saw! Then yesterday, I got a call at 10:00 that they were sending my mom to the hospital after a fall. I managed to eat my fruit and yogurt while I was there, but after 8 hours at the hospital (6 in the ER), I was again bad by the time I got home. I know the stress and off-schedule is contributing, but I want to do better than this! Here's to a new day, ladies!

Bad day for me too. Babysat 3 small kids all day from 8:15-7:30pm, then had to go to a Horrid meeting tonight, there were donuts and cookies and I ate it all. I just couldn't seem to stop...I was sooooooooo stressed and I hated myself every time I opened my mouth. I was angry that I let these people get to me enough to let myself do this!!!!!!! emoticon

Today was not a good day for me either. I did so well, up until I got home from work. I was tired, stressed, and the Easter candy hiding in the freezer was calling my name-LOUDLY. The good thing is that I felt like crap after I ate it. Hopefully I'll remember that feeling the next time an indulgence calls my name. I know that tomorrow is a new day and I'm ready to get back to business. My concern is that I've been "cheating" too much lately. I was at my parents over the weekend and "cheated" then. Then I blew it again today. I'm on C1, Day 11, but I should be on C2. I just want to stop the "cheating" cycle. I was so disciplined when I initially began the 17 DD. I just don't know where my willpower and and self control seems to have disappeared to? I'm ready for tomorrow, but praying for no sneak attacks.

Thank you ,
this post was very helpful. I am on the first cycle and have been doing well was on day 12 yesterday , due to being over tired a trigger for me I blew it last night and wasn't sure what to do ..but I am going to continue to move forward as I have 5 more days of cycle one and from what I am reading I should be able to correct this mistake ....it is easy to beat yourself up and sabotage yourself..

Just thought I'd give a final update here. What should have been my first day of C2 (Thurs), my scale was up 2 lbs. Since I'd blown it by not sticking to plan for 3 days, I continued with C1 for 3 additional days. Sure enough, that 2 pounds was gone by Sunday, when I was ready to move on to C2. What a relief -- feel like I'm back on track now. Thanks for the suggestions and moral support! emoticon -- Julie

I have to agree with Gabby here. One question...do you have the book????? If not please get it and read it. It is crucial to you sticking to this diet.
Also, start again. 100% compliance on C1 is also crucial. As Gabby said, if you don't stay compliant on c1, you won't make it to c2 or 3.
We want to see you make it. Go back, start again and if those cravings start...chew gum...chew lots of it....eat veggies, eat protein, protein and veggies are unlimited on c1, so don't skimp. You shouldn't be hungry at all on this cycle.
Hope you start over and things work...we'd love to see you succeed at this...it is a great diet.

@JENNYD - Most people add some 1% or skim to their coffee. If you don't see it listed for C1 it's not allowed. If you blew it your first day, you do need to start again. Try figuring out what triggers you after 5pm. I couldn't watch TV for the first 10 days because TV is a big trigger for me. Last time I had a problem with evenings LSG told me to take up knitting and I did! Point is, write down your triggers and ways you can counteract them to stay on track. You have to be 100% complliant on C1 for your first round or you probably will end up quitting because your cravings and bad habits won't go away.

Thanks again for the input, all. Maybe it wasn't as bad as it seemed, TERRRI, but I swear it felt more like BOXES and BAGS (or cartons and barrels!) of bad stuff rather than handfuls!

I'll see what the scale says in the morning and touch base with my findings. It is definitely winter here (only 6 degrees this morning!), and I DO think that inhibits our motivation. I agree with never wanting 17 days of C1 again, GABBY! In fact, that thought expressed in black and white just be the extra motivation I need to wrap it up this time!

Julie sounds like a plan - after all you're not a "Newbie" and you know what's best. If a couple of extra days on C1 will make you cheat again then I'd say onward to C2 especially if the scale shows no weight gain! I'm really struggling this time too. I really don't want to ever have to come back to 17 days of C1 again so no more "breaks" in between rounds for me!

Since C2 actually alternates with C1 I find it to still be pretty restrictive. Maybe just start C2 with a C1 day instead of a C2 day. That way you get 9 C1 days and 8 C2 days, instead of the other way around, and you start C3 also having just finished C2 with a C1 day. Looks confusing but it makes sense to me. LOL!

A couple of handfuls of popcorn and some cookies doesn't sound like a major crash and burn. What were your meals like? If those were way off then maybe a few extra C1 days won't hurt but I believe you are so close to your goals that it is also important to slip up and just carry on.

Terri

No excuses. The next few seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years will go by no matter what.

Thanks for the input, everyone. I figured if it was just a "slip up", I would continue on. But this feels more like a major crash and burn! Yes, Gabby -- this is my second round. I am due to start C2 tomorrow, but maybe tomorrow's scale should be the deciding factor (I forgot to weigh this a.m. -- maybe subconsciously!). I can't see how that scale could not possibly be up!

I initially thought I'd just trudge onward as Linda suggested. But like you said, Gabby, I'm sure it would be good to have a few days with GOOD adherence on C1. However, I almost feel like I am struggling now and could tolerate C2 better since C1 is feeling pretty restrictive for some reason this time around. Maybe see what the scale says tomorrow. If it's up, then hold out til Saturday to switch to C2? That will give me 3 "good" days (and only extend C1 by 2 days). What do you think of that plan, gang?

I SOO appreciate everyone's taking the time to offer me guidance!

I know I want COMFORT FOOD LOL. I want some form of comfort from this weather we are having....one day FREEZING cold, the next day raining and feeling like spring or late fall....we need some WINTER and we need it to stay for a few more days than just 1 or 2. We need to get rid of all these germs so that we can all get back to a somewhat normal existance. Thank God for comfort food lol...17 Day compliant of course lol.

Julie you've already completed one round right? So you know how your body reacts? I think it all depends on a few different things. Did you gain weight back? If so add a couple of days. Can you continue on without cravings? How many days do you have left on C1 if you continue on? Enough to clean out your system again? I had two days with slip ups with chocolate, but I had 5 days left in C1. I knew that's enough to get back on track and lose the cravings so I'm not adding any days and will start C2 as planned on Friday. If you stay too long on C1 your weight loss will stall.

Since we're all struggling, I think it's because it's winter and it's cold and we want comfort food. Of course, if you live in a warmer climate you have no excuse LOL!

Don't skip to the next cycle, don't go back to cycle 1...continue on and finish the one you are on, then go to the next. So you slipped up. Gabby & I just talked about this lol...this diet is so easy to maintain....you slip, you continue on and eventually everything is going to fall into place. Just no skipping and no going back...continue, continue, continue...that is the key to this whole thing.

I had popcorn and a diet soda at the movies last night...didn't lose weight, didn't gain weight...I know that on Friday I will start c2, so I am moving right along and not stressing over the fact that I slipped up a bit. I think that is why I gave up on so many other diets...you would cheat a little and then say What the Hell, I've blown it now...might as well stop....but you didn't blow it...you know what you did, you enjoyed what you did and you know what you have to do....CONTINUE.
You are going to be just fine. So glad you came in here to share it. This is another reason that we will stick to this diet. THIS AMAZING GROUP!!!!!!

Okay, my turn to ask the question.... I blew it for 2 or 3 days with handfuls of carmel-chocolate popcorn and toffee. Oh yeah, and a couple of cookies. And a few chips. What's your opinion? Start C1 over? Add 3 days? Pretend it never happened and continue on ending C1 as scheduled? I'm irritated that anyone was nice enough (!) to bring this stuff to the office. Of course my REAL question is, what the heck is WRONG with me?! Duh! I'm not even a chocolate or sweets eater!
