I have type 2 diabetes and control with 2 pills. I test in the morning before breakfast and if needed throughout the day. My fasting glucose levels are most always under 100 and have been getting better if I don't eat in the evening before bedtime.
I had gastric bypass surgery 6 years ago when I weighed 369 pounds. OMG!!!! I couldn't reach to wipe my backside. If that isn't an eye-opener then I don't know what is. I was down and depressed about life and needed help both physically and emotionally. I have lost 200 pounds since my surgery and have gotten off of insulin. My HgA1C is 6.5 and stable there. I would like to get it lower so am trying to exercise at least 3-5 days/week and follow the "Rules of the Pouch". The surgery was a tool only and it was not the easy way out by any means. I had gained 15 pounds back since my big loss and want to lose the remaining excess. I am having surgery in August to remove excess skin and will feel better afterwards.
I'm hopeful that the exercise will be the answer to getting my HgA1C down to the 5 range and that watching my calorie intake will help too. It's day 2 and I am motivated. emoticon
