Yummm...your recipe sounds really good! I will be sure to try this one. I kind of put myself in a rut and don't change recipes too often, but I think yours is a keeper! Thanks for sharing! emoticon emoticon

I never skip breakfast. On work days its usually 1 cup cheerios with 1/2 banana and low fat milk . emoticon

Or 1/2 cup of dry oatmeal cooked in low fat milk not water. It's tastier and creamy that way. Maybe add some raisins while its cooking. emoticon

Often I may have an oz of low fat cheese or a tablespoon of natural peanut butter.....and of course, my emoticon

Most days I have greek yogurt or cottage cheese, put in some fruit (pineapple is one of my favs) and a peice of multigrain toast.
I also love oatmeal with apple, raisins and cinnamon.

Type 2 here!

I see a Registered Dietitian on my own and i am also a Nutrition and wellness specialist student!

I find that a 400-500kcal breakfast (400 for women, 500 for men) is perfect! Someone below mentioned 30g of protein and thats great as much protein as you can include is perfect and about 45g of carbs is perfect! Dont forget a fiber source so u can stay full and regular! and yes eat as closely to your wake up time as possible (after checking your morning Blood glucose of course). As a man diabetic i need 500kcals for breakfast with 45g carbs at least 5g fiber and at least 15-18g protein minimum!

Today i had:
1 Quaker "Protein" Oatmeal with 1/2 Cup Skim Milk
150kcal, 10.5g Protein, 6g Fiber, 26.5 net carbs
1 Atkins Chocolate Protein Shake
150kcals, 15g Protein, High in Oleic Healthy fats, 3.5 net carbs
1 Iced Skinny Vanilla Latte with
190kcals, 9g Protein, 13 net Carbs

Total: 490kcals, 34.5g Protein, 6g Fiber, 43 Net Carbs

Today I had 1 cup of 1% cottage cheese and a tangerine. I have only just started on this site and after plugging in my food I am suprised to see that cottage cheese has so much protein (28g) for not a lot of calories! I will definitely continue to eat it as a breakfast option!

I have a shake almost every morning. It has 32 carbs and 20 protein. I make it with one package Carnation Essentials Sugar Free, 2 scoops of BeneProtein, 1/2 cup of mixed berries (frozen), 1/4 cup spinach (frozen) and one cup coconut milk. Whip it up in my Vitamix. It comes out thick and cold. I plan to start adding chia seed and maybe jut a squirt of chocolate syrup but it tastes good now.

When I don't have the shake, I eat greek yogurt or eggs. I love breakfast food but I don't like eating first thing in the morning. That is the hard part for me.

Lynn

Egg today, and whole grain toast, and some fruit. My Sweetie hogged most of the fruit, but I did get some.

I get bored with breakfasts easily and I suppose they are all different...For me-my carb goal is 30 for each meal to manage my diabetes so for breakfast:

3 pieces of turkey bacon
1 egg
2 pieces of toast

greek yogurt and raspberries or blueberries

1 frozen waffle with peanut butter

rice krispies cereal with almond milk

cantaloupe and sausage links

french toast sticks with strawberries

oatmeal with almonds

or I'm running late I typically just grab a larabar
