I have been experiencing pain on my second toe too, probably from rubbing as I DONT have good shoes for walking/running. I plan on getting sized soon so this information is vary useful to me! Thanks for posting it!

And it's not such a 'weird' question! emoticon

Thank you!

I started reading up on it & see that it's fairly common.

I think I will try to remember to mention it the next time I go to the Dr.
I am very thankful that flip flop/sandal season is pretty much over in Ohio. LOL

They are growing out & other than looking funny, they don't bother me anymore.

Keep trying! You will get there. It's hard work & determination that will get you there.

I have several friends that are runners. Several of them have mentioned similar issues when they train and then run long distances. I have one coworker that has lost several toe nails due to running. Not that I'm saying it isn't a big deal...still something I would suggest you see your doctor about (maybe as a "while I'm here" kind of thing) but I've heard of it happening to others.

Ok, after loads of research online today, it looks like something called Runners Toe.
IF they hurt again, I will go to the Dr. But it's probably because I increased my workouts a lot over the past few months & was wearing tighter fitting socks (which I have stopped doing).

Keep trying! You will get there. It's hard work & determination that will get you there.

I never experienced this before, will you check with a fitness expert and a doctor? I hope the problem gets resolved fast.

Thanks. I actually have good fitting shoes. I had that done, before. I actually think it was my socks that caused the initial problem. They seemed to be to snug across the toes. Now I am wearing different ones for running, and they don't feel tender, but it looks like the nails are going to come off. Which is kind of gross, but I will deal with it if I am getting in better health. Luckily sandal season is pretty much over. lol

My first thot is the fit of your shoes. You may have some foot issues that need a little special attention. If you haven't already, go to a reputable running store and have a fitting done. They should be able to evaluate most special needs and find a shoe that will help you instead of causing more problems. The right shoe can make a world of difference!

Since I have been training, I have had tenderness in my toes. Now It seems that I have 2 toenails, one on each foot, that look like they are going to fall off.

Has anyone ever had this happen?
