Yea, Ron, and don't forget the unions and everyone on welfare or unemployment. I have a Democrat friend who understands that he is ruining the country, but said she has to look out for herself. She is in a whole other group of people who will vote for Obama.
I always shake my head at the fact that Pennsylvania voted for him, when Biden said, before the election, that they aimed to close down the coal mines.
My mantra is: pray and vote.

Sue, Sweet-T, et al: Yes, we MUST get fellow conservatives out to the polls! In fact, considering the voter fraud and corruption that are going to be rampant, we probably need at least 10% more turnout than in "normal" elections. (Normal elections?)

And, too, we know that at least 95% of the black vote will go to Obama. That's a given. And in 2008, 67% of Latinos and 54% of Catholics went for Obama. These are probably knee-jerk votes, though, because, "We always vote for Democrats!", although few would be hard pressed to tell you exactly why. And I heard on FOX News this morning that 68% of the Jewish vote would probably go to Obama! Figure that!! Don't they know that this administration will NOT support Israel when the chips are down? Ask Netanyahu.

Well, I've gone on long enough. Just wanted to mention what we already know ... that this will be the most corrupt election in recent history, and we need a huge turnout. If I lived in a big city, I'd be wary at the polls, though. Remember the Black Panthers, New ACORNS, Occupy, SEIU, other union thugs, etc. Carry a big stick.

And so it goes.

When I discuss politics with someone and they say both sides are the same, or all politicians are crooks, or some other generality, I change the subject. I don't think those people will bother to vote. But if they have a definite opinion, then I try to talk about the differences enough to get them to agree to vote for Mitt Romney. The more I see him, the more I like him.

With Obama's numbers below 50% approval, i don't see any way he can win, IF we get the conservatives out to vote.

Obama's speech was a re-write of jimmy Carter's nomination speech for his re-election, and of course it failed to get him any votes. just look at Romney's replacement of Obama as a parallel to Reagan's landslide victory over Carter, even though Romney's talent is not that of an actor, but of a successful creator of prosperity.

The convention kept me interested. I thought Clint Eastwood was a winner. He was just Clint Eastwood, same as in his recent movies. His hesitations were not senility but to show his thoughtfulness. I was not offended by his racy remakes, it was a lighter moment.
I will watch some of the Democratic as Reagan called them) convention just to see what they're up to.
But I am especially looking forward to the debate between Paul Ryan and whats-hi-name.

I want to have more faith and think that there is a chance Romney/Ryan can take the election. My husband feels that we are in for a Republican win. I hope he's right.

I believe the Romey ticket could win the election if it was a real election, but it won't be. It will be the same as 08 only worse...worse in that it will be filled with dead voters, those voting multiple times, illegal voters and any other cheating thing BO can think to use.

Sandie...I saw the ABC thing, too....made me sick, as well. The liberal media is going to continue these attacks right up till the election because Obama has so little to go on. I believe that Romney and Ryan are both strong enough to handle all the crap.

The convention rocked. I am just hoping with all hope that the ticket gets a HUGE boost from all of it. Time will tell, I suppose.

Ron, I loved the entire convention. I watched it on C-Span then when it ended for the day I went to FoxNews to hear what they had to say. The only speech, besides Reagans, I even recall is the one from Guy Vander Jagt from MI. in 1980. Reagan had asked him to give the key note address.

I thought Clint Eastwood did a fine jiob. The content was there. Not his fault the thing (can't think of the name of it, but BO knows it well) didn't work. Just came to me, teleprompter. Plus is is getting up in years.

All in all, it was a fine Convention. I thoroughly enjoyed and was enriched by watching.

Well. This was one of the best conventions I've watched, even dating back to the Reagan days. I didn't find anyone to disagree with, and I thought Romney gave an excellent speech. Given Romney's qualifications and experience, I have no idea how anyone could even come close to comparing him and Obama. However, I'm sure the media will think of something ... the Truth be damned.

Oh, and if y'all watch some of this on C-SPAN, you can avoid some commercials, and having some commentator telling you what to think and what the speaker *really* meant.

And so it goes ...

Have a good Labor Day!!

I enjoyed the convention, was a bit weirded out by Eastwood. I felt sorry for him. And I really hope that spot gets put far into the background for his sake. I hope they let him live it down with dignity. (just watching it again and it doesn't seem as bad as the first time, but he seems so old and and not like the young cowboy I used to watch on Rawhide.)
I am concerned that people around me are still not paying attention. I've been talking to some of my neighbors lately and they seem apathetic. They had no plans to watch and it seems as if they didn't. (many took to the road)..One man said he was very disappointed that we only have 2 choices. I get the feeling he will go into the voting booth and wait until the spirit tells him who he should cast the vote for, probably someone he has no idea who they are. He wants someone who has had military experience and neither BO or Romney has that. He feels it is our fault that we were not on our knees praying and fasting for the president. Another still wants Ron Paul. Neither were going to watch. A couple don't talk party but seem to be in to Obama because they believe the negatives that are said by the left, as said by the left, and don't check into it themselves. I tried to encourage them to watch, but no luck there. I think it is important to listen to both sides, though I find it hard to many times. I like to get my impressions about the candidates from actually hearing them say it and not someone else telling me what they said or meant to say.

I was pleased with Romney tonight . He went above what I expected and his energy was picked up by those at the convention .Watching MSNBC afterwards showed me that Romney was a winner as they only had negatives to say. Rubio? Terrific! Clint? Someone on the conservative site I follow, said the teleprompter broke so he was ad-lib the whole time. Anyone hear this? But he was great and I don't think a bit offensive. Newt and Clararisa (sp) were stiff, I thought. What was up with Boehner?

I will watch the DNC convention -- or at least follow it. They have to come up with more than "Forward" or they are sunk. They have a big act to follow.

But for the first time in a long time, I feel some hope for us.

I wasn't the least surprised at the vitriol the supposedly "warm and cuddly, friendly party' spat after the nights presentations. Their direct attack on MIA, calling her a "token" and an Aunt Tom" was pretty much a typical response to an intelligent, energetic woman who happens to be a Republican - and black.

If we could get the majority of black women to understand that the "Planned Parenthood" program was started by a female, Democratic woman who planned to use the organization to eliminate as many blacks is she could .....

Or rearrange social welfare systems to promote families staying together instead of the male tomcat being encouraged to stay away from the family so they get better benefits .....

I'm supporting Romney with every breath I have, but Dear Lord, I wish we could get at least a right leaning Republican as President.

I'll continue to support Allen West. He's absolutely correct when he say's Obama doesn't have the huevos to debate him.

I'm looking forward to the DNC in Charlotte where there has been a rumor that 20,000 Muslims will come to support Obama. Obama may think it's to his advantage, but I think that one will flash back on him and singe more than his toes - then he could be towed off in January.

Tonight, including Romney's speech, was a letdown after the wonderful and inspirational speeches by Paul Ryan and Condoleezza Rice. It kind of reminds me of when Gerald Ford was running for re-election and Ronald Reagan was a keynote speaker. Of course, there will never be another Reagan, but it would be great to have a candidate who could inspire people like he did. Romney will do just fine as president, I'm sure.

The convention is really energizing the base and I think will start helping the undecided to make the right decision. I've been working the neighborhoods for the campaign in mostly democrat areas, and there are still a lot of people who either won't commit or are unhappy with Obama. We ALL need to spread the positive word and get people out there voting.

For those who haven't read this...he DemocRATS and their media's make me sick!

ABC: ‘Romney Happy to Have a Party When Black People Drown’

During live coverage of the Republican National Convention here in Tampa, Yahoo News Washington bureau chief David Chalian provided the perfect example of the pervasive anti-Republican bias Mitt Romney faces in his bid to unseat President Barack Obama.

In video broadcast Monday night by ABC and Yahoo over the Internet, Chalian can be heard claiming that GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his wife Ann are unconcerned about the fate of residents of the New Orleans area who are currently being hit by Hurricane Isaac.

I watched on Fox and especially liked Kasich, as his state's success story needs to be heard over and over. Same as with other Republican governors, but he is a nice lively person. I liked Christi, too, but wondered if his speech was muted from above. I know he had over four drafts before he finished writing it, but he seemed scripted. And he is not a scripted person! (I'm from NJ. -----You got a problem with that??) Such a good heart-felt one from Ann Romney, too. Someone said she didn't use teleprompters. Is that so. If so --- WOW!

I flipped over to the alphabet channels to listen to their reactions. Some good comments from a few on Ann Romney, but really -- the left was as you would expect. Rush had a list of the ones who were absolutely nasty and I understand that someone from Yahoo was fired because of his comments on the Romneys that he thought were off line.

Also -- I followed the speeches while reading the comments on my fav conservative web site. They were up in arms at Juan Williams comments on Ann Romney. They also felt that Romney himself was not very responsive when the camera panned to him. Some wondered if he was humbled, or tired. Probably a little of both.

Mia Love was wonderful! I hope she wins her election and goes far. She was dynamic!

Has MSNBC had any answers why they ignored the black speakers like Love, Cruz, Davis an others? Shameless!

The Convention was great. I watched it all on C-Span so there wouldn't be any commentating. My favorite's were John Kasich, Chris Chrisite, Nikki Haley, and of course Ann Romney. (in that order) Tonight I am looking forward to hearing Rob Portman, Condoleezza Rice and Mike Hucklabee. I love the Conventions and watch them gavel to gavel. I began watching them with my Grandma in 1952. If only the people who need to watch would. the ones who need to wake up and see the facts of what is happening to America.

Several news sources are speculating that Clint Eastwood is to be the “mystery speaker” at the Convention tomorrow night. I had also head it would be Sarah Palin, but I wouldnlt think so. Have any of you heard anything?

I don't get the local paper here. Apparently fewer people in the area are as they are now only putting it out a couple of times a week. More jobs lost in this economy, even the kids that were paper carriers are missing out. Would like to know what was written? Is it on line? Which paper?
My thoughts: I mostly watched on C-Span. Earlier in the day when they opened the convention, I was appalled that on Fox Megan Kelly would conduct an interview with Brit Hume during the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. (It wasn't the practice session it was the opening.) Am I wrong to think she should have cut away for that. At the very least they should have been in a room where it was not so obvious.
I enjoyed those three speakers and many of the others as well. One I liked was by Sher Valenzuela, she's running for lieutenant governor of Delaware. She looked and sounded like a strong woman and I liked her story. Governor Nikki Haley was good also.
I like the "We built this" Theme. I do not understand how the president really thinks we are misquoting him. I've listened to him many times and just don't see it. And those that keep saying he is being misquoted obviously have not listened to the speech (even in context he makes the leap to the business not the roads and bridges).
When it was over I was surprised (NOT) to hear MSNBC's* commentary by Chris Matthews that Christie's speech was so full of hate and vitriol and then turn to others and they said it was so mild and not hard hitting. It is sad that we can't trust the media anymore.
Won't Ann Romney make a great first lady?
*spell check still comes up with the suggestion of replacing the word with misinform. It is one and the same. emoticon

Hi All. Watched the first night of the Republican convention last night and was pretty pleased with Mia Love, Ann Romney, Chris Christie. What a great, positive message for this county. Of course the headline story in our local paper managed to put a negative spin on the event -- go figure. I'm in Cleveland Ohio. I dont' know what convention they were watching but it sure wasnt' the same one I was!

What do you think?
