I saw on Fox last night where Obama was schmoozing it up down in Brazil, telling them that we were going to give them $2B for oil development and we wanted to be their best customer for their oil in a couple of years. (Brazil is energy-independent. they don't NEED any of our money.) A couple of weeks before that he was telling US that he wants America to be less dependent on foriegn oil. Now, somehow, that doesn't speak to me of transparency. That sounds a lot like his old tricks of telling different audiences what he thinks they want to hear. Today, he announced his plans for spending $1B on his own re-election. Provided, no doubt, by the unions. I guess he is determined to give us the best administration his money can buy. And the MSM is super busy telling each other about how the economy is improving, unemployment is lower (Still up about 10%, though) and everything is coming up roses. The fact is, that ALL recessions end eventually. They always have, up until now, at least. So all he has to do is run around telling people what they want to hear and when the economic cycle turns around he can take full credit for it and win re-election, when in fact he didn't have anthing to do with it. Actually, his machinations in the marketplace only prolongs the agony. The government isn't solving our problems, they ARE the problem. When the people get fed up with governments that are not responsive to the will of the people and they rise up, our government applauds them and encourages them to seek a democratic form of leadership. People are starting to feel that way here, too; we are also wanting a representative form of government, ourselves. When our so-called 'representatives' don't represent our beliefs and our needs, Just who are they representing?

Learn from the mistakes of others. Life is too short to make them all yourself.

If liberals had any brains, they'd be Republicans

Oops. He made another political mistake.

If I was a representative to the NRC, I would keep this in my notes to ding him with in any debate.

Seariously!

What a Joke, and behind close doors, now that is funny!

"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government."

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. "

When I read Major's post, I thought this was an April fool's joke.

Call me suspicious but I still think there's got to be something more in this for him (this pres) other than simply accepting the award behind closed doors. love, Darlene

how many kinds of stupid does this man think we are? does the award make him think we will think his government is "transparent"? does he think history will look back and say... "WoW! what an honest open man he was!"

Next he'll get the Nobel Peace Prize....

Wait... he already did that huh? *just shakin' my head*
