The cracker barrel left still seems to think that the great god Obama (kowtowing to all the Middle Eastern nations and showing the world what a wimp he was, oops, I meant how enlightened he was) could stand in front of the IOC, falling to his left, could show how much it would benefit the world to come to Chicago.

Are you kidding me?

Chicago has two baseball teams I want to see, so at some point in the future I will sneak my Conservative wife and my very Conservative self into town to see a couple of ball games.

I'll try to stay below the radar of Mayor Daley's goons (How did he ever get elected in the first place? Weren't the residents of Chicago aware that the sins of the father would be visited on to seven generations?)

Life Imitates Art -- from today's "Best of the Web" opinion column in the Wall Street Journal...

========================================
=========
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that "some Chicago officials" (along with some unofficials) are blaming Bush:

President Obama could not undo in one year the resentment against America that President Bush and others built up for years, they said.

"There must be" resentment against America, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said, near the stage where he had hoped to give a victory speech in Daley Center Plaza. "The way we [refused to sign] the Kyoto Treaty, we misled the world into Iraq. The world had a very bad taste in its mouth about us. But there was such a turnaround after last November. The world now feels better about America and about Americans. That's why I thought the president's going was the deal-maker."

State Rep. Susana Mendoza (D-Chicago) said she saw firsthand the resentment against America five years ago when she was in Rio de Janeiro. "I feel in my gut that this vote today was political and mean-spirited," she said.

"I travel a lot. . . . I thought we had really turned a corner with the election of President Obama. People are so much more welcoming of Americans now. But this isn't the people of those countries. This is the leaders still living with outdated impressions of Americans."

Clearly, as I stated, Chicago lost the Olympics because of one thing -- George W. Bush...and I though I was being funny!!!

I've been in a very good humor all day long as well. It just seems like the corrupt IOC wasn't willing to let the corrupt Chicago political machine stick its fingers into the olympic money bag.

This is going to cost somebody some serious cash down the line. I don't see Daley allowing HIS cash balance to dry up just because these hacks couldn't rig this election.

It didn't bother me that A U.S. president went there to pitch for an American city to be in the games as I do believe the Olympics is a well worth global event bringing so many countries together in the spirit of the games, unity, etc.... HOWEVER...HA... I have to say I'm a bit in glee to see that gee, oh shucks...guess Obama didn't have the global influence that he THOUGHT he had!!!! Same with Doprah...oh...excuse me...did I spell that wrong? Oprah.... I'm so sick of the two of them thinking they are gods and just assume if they want it, the whole world must want it.

I live in the Chicago area and let me tell you... The IOC claimed the reason Chicago didn't get picked was because they weren't on the same page with how things would be funded...worried about raising funds, etc. Bull Crap! Anyone who knows Chicago's Mayor Daley knows....good or evil...he'd find the cash...if it meant printing more money, stealing from his mother...whatever....He'd get the cash. They wanted Rio from the get go and to Rio it went. Rio can have that cash cow! Have fun paying billions, trillions to host the games. Now I don't have to listen, for the next 7 years, about all the red tape and under the table deals to get Daley's relatives the contracts to build the complex...relatives both dead and alive, I might add! Chicago politics....at its best!

What a relief. I say....

BLAME IT ON RIO!

Ha!

I blame:

1. The world-wide vast right-wing conspiracy
2. George W. Bush
3. Rush Limbaugh
4. George W. Bush
5. Racism
6. George W. Bush
7. Glenn Beck
8. George W. Bush
9. Fox News
10. George W. Bush

Let's see -- what else could have made the IOC not fall down in praise for Barack and Michelle Obama? OH! I know, they wanted to spite George W. Bush...

Another waste of money at the taxpayers expense. Do you realize that one hour of this fiasco cost us more than alot of people make in a year? ridiculous! Actually, I should say, used to make in a year, since alot of those people are now out of work... I am so over this, I just want these idiots out of office and somebody in who isnt corrupt.

Also from foxnews.com, here's an estimated cost for just the flight in dollars (as well as the cost in "carbon emissions"). This is from Bret Baier's "Grapevine." I strongly recommend skipping the beginning of his column. It details the first b&%$h's "great sacrifice" (as she reaches for the wastebasket in which to retch).

Olympic-Sized Footprint

The effort and energy needed to make the president and first lady's quick trips to Copenhagen possible could be considered Olympic-sized by some estimates. The approximate cost of flying Air Force One round trip for 18 hours calculates to more than $1.2 million -- roughly $67,000 per hour.

The estimated greenhouse gas emissions of Air Force One for that trip amount to more than 1 million pounds of carbon dioxide. Compare that to a roundtrip on Amtrak from New York to Washington D.C. emits 220 pounds of carbon dioxide. The president's trip is the equivalent to 4,500 of those roundtrips.

The Boeing 757 the first lady rode separately emits nearly 374,000 pounds of carbon dioxide.

Those figures do not include the operational costs or emissions of the several passenger and cargo aircraft that accompany Air Force One with staff and equipment.

Copenhagen, by the way, will be the location for the climate change summit in December. No word yet on whether the president will attend.

He spent FOUR hours there? Wonder how much that cost.

I also found it disgusting that the audience "broke the rules" and stood to applaud him when they weren't supposed to...guess it's OK to break SOME rules...
