I think he did the right thing too... but lots of people disagree.

As far as the prison, I think it's mostly cleared of zombies.. but not of monsters. (insert creepy drama music here.. DUH DUH DUHHHHH)

"Hershel dies of a heart attack overnight, and he's going to come looking for snacks."

Hahaa! Right!

I also do not think that Rick should have told everyone. He didn't know for sure and it would have caused a huge, unnecessary panic in the group. People can be ticked at him all they want, he still did the right thing.

I had that conversation with my husband this morning. Rick, whom most of the time appears calm and collected, now has that "crazy look" to him. With all the blood splatter, how could they not be infected. Hell, in real life, you can just as easily get Hepatitis from blood splatter (that's why all of us healthcare workers are immunized).

The Prison, is it full of Zombies or just inmates? Food, Shelter? I really hate having to wait for closure. This is going to be a long 6 months. At least I have 4-5 races to look forward too, lol.

One theory floating around about the virus is that it is also impacting the living in a "rage virus" sort of way. That it was more advanced in Shane, turning him into a nut job before Rick finally had to put him down. Since Rick seemed far from rational at the end of the episode, is it effecting him too?

The "Dawn of the Dead" zombie baby thing made me stop watching all of the "Dead" remakes. I like a good zombie as much as the next guy... but I thought the way they did that was horrible and way over the top. I loved the original "DOTD" film, and it was like someone just said "lets come up with the grossest thing we can think of that no one has ever done before." ok.. I'll get off my soapbox now. But stupid sequence.. wrecked them all for me.
Anyhow...
Way back when, I thought that Jenner told Rick that 1) Lori is pregnant and 2) They are all carrying the virus. Now they could have gotten contamilated by water... spilled blood... or even that the virus has gone airborne (which I think it the most likely.) Jenner himself was probably infected, and he knew it, which is why he killed himself in a great big fireball, so he wouldn't reanimate. When Rick and Shane found those two zombie cops with no bite marks on them, Rick knew. But he kind of blew it off when Shane asked. He wasn't curious.. didn't want to talk about it. So this is the world they live in now. And I don't think Rick should have told everyone, tho I'd sure as heck be sleeping with the door locked at night. Hershel dies of a heart attack overnight, and he's going to come looking for snacks.

I don't think they've ever said anything in the show about how it all started. That would help clear up some of the current unknowns - has the virus or whatever mutated, is it airborne, what is likely to happen to the baby, etc.

Original SW on 1/1/11 - 204.4 lbs.
Original GW on 9/1/11 - 134.5 lbs
Original GOAL ACHIEVED! 70 lbs. banished!

New SW on 1/1/19 - 204, back to the very beginning
New GW by 12/31/20 - 135

In the comics it is revealed that everyone is infected and that it is not being bitten that turns you, but dying itself. The bite kills you, death turns you.

I find your thoughts pretty interesting as well. I was watching Dawn of the Dead with my son last night and there was a pregnant woman and my big question was would she give birth to a zombie baby. Spoiler alert: she did but she herself was infected and a zombie.

As with any or all epidemics and pandemics, virus' mutate rather quickly.

Jenn03275, "However, having him[Shane] and Randall coming back as zombies almost immediately does open up the question as to weather this virus has now become airborne for others to become zombies so quickly without being bit, scratched or gnawed on."

I've been thinking about this one a lot. My theory is that everyone is already infected, but the disease itself is dormant until the body hits a certain stage (ie, death). Zombie bites just being so infectious that the person just dies from it (think similar to komodo dragons having septic pathogens in their saliva...pretty nasty); and if that's the case, could someone potentially survive a bite if treated quickly and effectively enough? This also brings about further questions; is this only affecting the current generation or will future generations already be infected (which brings to mind Lory's baby and what state it will be in when born)?.......I'm pretty sure I have way too much time on my hands. lol

I'd love to hear anyone else's theories about it.
