Anna sorry we did not catch up. We did not get the fish and chips as Peters' is way too busy these days with queues out the door and over an hour waiting time. We drove down as Barry wants to do a fishing charter and we checked that place out.

After that we drove to visit Jensen and that is where the thunderstorm hit us and it lasted about 15 minutes with huge golf balls of hail. Poor kangaroos on the acreage hiding under trees and the horses next door fretting. It was fun watching Jensen collect the hail stones.

It did not rain a drop at our house.

Yes Susan the smoke is still thick this morning. Giving me a dry throat.

Your conference sounds like fun and I am glad you have all these wonderful new things to share with us., Awaiting the arrival of the new catalogue at some stage..... or maybe I should not get one lol.....

I am feeling better and that feels good.

Live well, laugh often, love much.

Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.

The smoke was so bad when we flew back from Sydney today, then we had a tremendous storm! It cleared some smoke but not all of it. I know it is still thick on the south side as I saw it from the air. I do hope we get more rain soon. We need it so badly.

I had a tremendous time at the Stampin' Up! conference. Was very spoiled with new stamp sets, supplies, information, a new catalogue, dinner and lunch, friendship renewals, a back pack, make and takes - it was just great! And Colin enjoyed it too! Wish you were both there!

Anna, I love hearing about your Photoshop course. It sounds really good!

Georgia, I am so sorry about the pain you are experiencing. Gentle hugs for you.I hope Barry is up to taking you out for that fish and chips.

Wow, Georgia, the thunder was so loud and we got hail the size
of golfballs. It lasted about 5 minutes, then the sun came out.
I don't think the rain was much.
After coming out of the hall from the meditation, it was muggy and hot
and the ground was dry. At least it rained for a few minutes.

I hope you enjoyed the fish and chips. The drive and fresh hour would
have been nice. I hope you enjoyed it.

The smoke is even thicker this morning. Horrible.
They say no real rain for about 3 months. Just a lot of dry thunderstorms with the occasional one having some rain.

Spoke to a fire man on Friday and he was saying how they are all being spread thin in Brisbane to help fight elsewhere.

Sad times.

Barry is talking of driving to the coast for fish and chips and if we go that would be nice but I do not hold my breath on these things.

Have a good day and yiahni sounds delicious.

Smoke was really bad today. I sure hope we can get some rain soon.
Used the slow cooker to make a lamb and vegetable stew. This way
I will have enough food for the week without having to worry about cooking.

I managed to go for a walk this evening and the breeze was wonderful.

Sounds like a productive day Anna.

One day when I retire I too can go to courses at the library....lol

Busy work day and my feet were good yesterday.

I hope today is also busy as I need it to make the day go fast.

Nothing much else....

Stay safe with the smoke - it is even giving me a dry irritated throat.

So much smoke. I have to use my puffer again.

I went to my 3rd week of Photoshop session at the Library. The people
running the course were fantastic. We did layers again today. We had
a photo of a mountain range at sunset, then placed a masque and a new
layer and then added the moon. I really enjoyed. We can go there two days
a week to use their program in the tech lab. I think I will do that. We also learned
hoe to blur some of the picture and emphasize the part we wanted. I'm in awe.

I hope it won't take long to get used to the orthotics to give your feet a rest.

I have Stin Ygeia sas with Papadopoulo and i'm dancing and singing to it.
made Imam Baildi today and had V over for lunch. Also made dolmades,
so no cooking for a while.

Enjoy your weekend.

Yes Anna it was nice to see you too.

I am worn out with all the different pains at the moment. It also is the time of year it happens to me. Sore and tired feet. It could be the adjustment to the orthotics and still getting used to it.

I slept so much better last night.

The day wit the kids sounds a delight.

Oh my goodness the smoke this morning - so thick again.

Have a good day.

I'll have to come and have a massage at that place in Carindale
next time I come in to town. It was lovely to see you even though
it was just a quick hello. Glad to hear your feet feel better.

Susan, I hope your niece can salvage some of their possessions.
I agree that many people are very insensitive. I bet they wouldn't be
like that if it was their property that was lost. then you have the looters.
Shameful.

I had a lovely day with my sister and her grandkids. We took them to Maccas
and they played in the playground, then took them to the park. Troy had the
morning off and they were swimming. I'm sure that they will sleep well tonight.

Anna the reflexology was great. I had the same masseuse who told me months ago that my gut had issues and around the gall bladder. She was stunned I had it out. She could also tell that i was not getting enough sleep from my feet yesterday. She was spot on.

Also told me I was dehydrated and I was.

I love Outlander.

Susan glad that your niece got the container. So sad about have to protect ones things from looters. I pray they find some things of value.

I am also praying for rain but good slow soaking rain not flooding rains.

My feet feel better today but yes standing on them does not help at all.

Have a great day everyone.

Anna, I cannot understand people's insensitivity at times, regardless of who they are. Politicians are just in the public gaze more. I hear remarks like Barnaby Joyce's from all sorts of people and it saddens and upsets me.

We prayed for rain again tonight as a church. I pray daily too.

Georgia, I hep your feet settle down again and are pain free soon. It would be so hard having a stand up job with sore feet.

My niece and her husband got the loan of a container today so they can start salvaging what they can. Niece posted a video of their property. I doubt they will find much of anything. It is so destroyed...

A lot of haze today. Fires broke out in Helensvale and Beenleigh. too close.

I went to a free meditation this morning. Came home and napped as I was
really relaxed. Then binged on Outlander Season 4 on Netflix...

Hope your reflexology helps your feet Georgia.

All our politicians need a good kick at this time.
Yes it was heartless and quite inappropriate.

I pray for rain daily and it seems like the whole country is going up in flames.

My feet had a manipulation from the podiatrist on Monday and I am wondering if it is that.

May go for reflexology today to have my feet massaged.

How heartless of Barnaby Joyce to say that the 2 people who died in
the NSW fires must have voted for the Greens. Such a terrible thing to say.

The sky was blue today, but it was hot. I did a load of washing and it was
dry in no time as there is a lovely breeze.

Had our book club meeting and it was lovely to get together. Then we had
a game of cards and coffee and cake. Sparking for points now and off to bed.

I hope your feet feel better now Georgia.

Susan, the media has a lot to answer for. I phoned my friend at Little Mountain
as there was a fire there but it was on the other side from my friend's place.

It is worrisome to know that there won't be rain any time soon.

Georgia, I saw that about the rain not happening for the first time in recorded history. Yes, it seems impossible. Glad you got out of the smoke and into the air con. We kept ours on till bed time. It's on again today even though the skies are clearer. Are you getting wind gusts? We sure are.

Anna, the movie sounds good though long. At least you were out of the smoke too.

We went out to lunch with friends today then had them back here for coffee.

I saw that my niece and hubby are having to put up gates at their burnt property to keep the media out. As if they didn't already have enough to think about....

Susan, so sorry for your niece and her family.

I went to the Casino for lunch with m son and then I stopped
for the 2 pm movie - 'The Goldfinch'. Nicole Kidman is in it.
Almost 3 hours and now I feel exhausted.

The country is burning and we surely need some rain.

Thank you, Georgia. You described the feeling i have perfectly. I wish I was closer and could see how they are doing in real life. Their friends, family and neighbours are chopping in to help though. The insurance companies are already on it as well. I'm glad of that/ Today, they found their chickens alive! How that happened I don't know. Apparently they could only save their dogs when they got out, They have six or so big dogs...

I'm getting ready for On Stage Live indoors today. We are running the air con. The smoke is so thick, I am feeling it. Unfortunately I have asthma and don't want to have to go get help.

Oh Susan I am so truly sorry for your niece. Of course I shall pray. It is so very devastating and I can only imagine their grief. I would be a cross between them both. A hysterical mess and then wanting to get things back into order as soon as possible/. Oh I am teary thinking about it.

The smoke haze here this morning is very very thick. Now the hospitals will be overrun as asthma and other breathing issues come forward......

Tough times for our country.

Anna, if you go to the retreat, you will be closeby! I realise you probably won't have much time (if any) to visit but it would be nice to see you if you did.Glad you enjoyed your photoshop lesson and the music.

Georgia, yes, Colin has conceded and is calling a mechanic tomorrow. We found one who works a few streets away so he is going to try to book in there.

Archie is slowly becoming a good boy. He is having to learn alot about his puppy teeth and what they are allowed to bite on. We'll get there.

I am devastated for my niece and her husband today. They lost their house and work shed in a fire at Yeppoon last night. Both are self-employed (he is a cabinet maker and she is a beautician) so both lost their tools of trade as well as their personal effects. They had five minutes warning to leave so took their animals and whatever they could cram into their car and drove out. They were not injured thankfully but what a devastating blow for them. Niece is not coping too well but her husband, bless him, is staying stalwart and saying they will be alright. Yes, they will be alright eventually but what a hard road to have to travel. The family is rallying behind them and they had insurance, but all this will take time to get in order. ...if you would remember them in your thoughts and prayers, I would appreciate it.

The people are nice and have offered to pick me up from Logan and take
me to their retreat outside of Caboolture when they have the next event.
Might be worth trying a new set of surroundings and people.

Get better soon Richard.

So sad to hear about the loss of life and homes in the NSW fires.
It was smoky here on the coast as well. Strange sky colour.

Good boy Archie. You are doing so well at school. top pupil you are.

I enjoyed the photoshop lesson. We learned layers and masques. It was
a lot of fun.

Went to Old Government House this afternoon to a special event. Mozart
piano concert for an hour, then a guided meditation, afternoon tea, followed
by a sitar player accompanied by an Indian drummer played with the hands.
We had a great afternoon at this free event.

By the time we came home, we were exhausted. Great day out.

Well done Archie.

Colin you will have to let the experts deal with this one.

When I went to mums this morning the smoke haze over the city and Mt Cootha was thick. Coming home the sky looked like the colour of thunderstorms.

Driving home on the freeway saw and idiot through out a cigarette butt. So this is how these fires start. Inconsiderate so and so's ........

Scary times for so very many people. I am praying for their safety and also for their homes.

Richard, I'm glad you enjoy respite but sorry you have a sore ear. May it be back to normal very soon.

Georgia, glad you had a good day planned.

Anna, how was your course?

we went out to coffee with friends this morning then took Archie to Puppy School. He did pretty well! He got used to the other pups pretty fast. Now Colin is working on the car which needs a new alternator. I think he is going to have to give in and call a mechanic. The thing is too hard to reach and work on. So I am doing the washing.

It has been very smokey here all day and I know there are many fires burning to the north of us at Noosa North Shore. There are huge fires in NSW too and I saw the smoke plume from them is reaching New Zealand. I'm hoping all friends in those areas are safe. Praying for rain.....

Off to take my second lesson of Photoshop tomorrow at the library.
I received a few of my replacement cards today, so things will get back
to normal when I get everything replaced.

Thanks Susan.

Pleasant evening so far. Must have been hot today.

Georgia, you are sounding a little better each day! Nice to see! No, Archie can't fly to Sydney with us, unfortunately. We have asked his breeder to look after him for the four days. I will miss him! He can come with us when we travel North in our van though at Christmas time.

Anna, that sound like a delightful day you had. It's so good to hear! Thank you so much for being willing to make some Cards for Troops also. That will be lovely.

I am finishing off swaps and trying to gather all the information I need about On Stage Live. Not long to go now.

Anna mum said she was glad you came by and gave her the massage.

A walk by the river would have been lovely.

I have seen Chicago the movie and it I am sure the musical would have been great.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Only 2 more work days and then a weekend off and hopefully a chance to do some things around here - in moderation of course.

Have a a happy hot day today.....

Live well, laugh often, love much.

Glad to hear you slept well Georgia. I really enjoyed giving mum the massage
as I'm sure she had a good sleep last night. I ate an apple at 8 pm and I didn't
sleep all night. I got up at 5 am and had a shower...

I went to buy myself some olives from the deli and then into Aldi for a few things.
As I crossed the road a Glider came and I caught it to Orleigh Park and had
a little walk by the river. Then caught the 199 to Hardgrave Road and got ready
to go meet my U3A pals to see Chicago. I loved Casey Donovan. She was
really liked by the audience. It was good, but i kept trying to remember the movie...

Archie has a new job now - to cheer people up. I also laughed about you putting
in the bag. Just like carrying a baby. He is such a cutie though.
I also looked at the site, and will try to do some for next year too.

Tired, so going to get a good night's sleep tonight.

Georgia, he wouldn't stay with Colin last night! He wanted to be my dog. So that was the only way to have peace! Lol! He's back to being with Colin today. Cheeky boy.

Glad you checked out the page about Cards for Troops :) I use crystal clear cellophane bags to put my cards in. I buy them from a place called Pack It In but I think you can get some from Spotlight, Officeworks and some cleaning supply stores, believe it or not. They just make the cards look nicer and protect them from people handling them.

Yes, Archie sure did his part to make people smile yesterday!

SO glad to hear you had a good night's sleep! That makes everything better!

I'm making cards today to swap with other Demonstrators in Sydney next week! Colin and I get to go there for On Stage, a big convention Stampin' Up! holds. We sure are looking forward to going. Well, Colin is looking forward to the food and I am looking forward to the new stamp sets we'll find out about. Lol!

Oh Susan I had to laugh with the bag over the shoulder. How funny that must have been.

You should have gotten Colin to babysit....

I checked out the page and wow.....I shall make some cards for sure.
What sort of plastic sleeves do you use to put them in. Glad bags?

They say animals and young children make the elderly feel good. Well done Archie.

I slept well last night. Nice feeling.

Happy days everyone.

Georgia and Anna, it seems to me both of you have had significant losses, illnesses, and circumstances happening in the recent past as well as in the present. No wonder you both have an occasional down day. Take care of yourselves and allow yourselves to do some things you like to do. You need to refuel and recharge! Sometimes it takes awhile to come through things that cause us to grieve....

Georgia, yes, that's about right about Cards for Troops. I have a page on my papercraftcentral website that tells more about it.

It would be lovely to have you contribute to the Drive!

We visited our nursing home friend and some of his family with Archie today. Little puppies do have a way of cheering people at times. He behaved pretty well! Then home to do some domestic things, then to get ready to have craft friends over to make our own projects this evening. Archie was a little pest sometimes (chewing my friends' bags, craft supplies etc) so I offered him a bag I used to carry my last dog in, and he jumped right in. I kept him in the bag on my shoulder for a couple of hours! He slumbered and slept and was amazingly happy. Lol! Some solutions are just so easy, if you only think of them.

Anna do be careful. I worry about you.

Glad V took you to lunch. A happy outing is what you needed.

No rain here.

This morning the magpies are singing me amazing songs.

I slept better last night. Not fantastic all night sleep but nearly all night.

Susan with the cards you send to the troops - do people just make random cards and then send them to you when you ask for them? I would not mind doing some for the troops next year.

Have a great day everyone.

I felt down again today. One of my friends from Switzerland was to come
for a visit in 2 weeks and she has a lesion at the back of her throat.
It is cancerous and she has decided to start treatment. Even though she
had quit smoking, she was suing the electric cigarettes which are worse...

DS came over to cheer me up and we went o lunch. Sprinkles of rain
but nothing here.

Archie is doing well thanks to you Susan.

Enjoy a good day at work. I am sleeping a lot more now. I think it helps
when we are feeling down
Have a good week everyone.

Georgia, we took Archie for a visit to the Vet's today. He seemed less stressed. We took some kibble along to give him treats while there. Then we stopped at a butcher's and bought dog bones for when we got home. He's pretty happy! Lol! It looks like you had a beautiful family reunion and were so wise about what you ate. May the month of recovery go swiftly for you.

Anna, that is terrible that you only have such a short time to submit a complaint about the new zoning! I hope Council does take notice of their 200 constituents who are in distress about it. Sorry you are having such a stressful time with it all. Keep us updated, hon.

I had surprise visitors this morning who dropped in for coffee. I didn't mind. Then we had a medical appointment for Colin (paperwork only for his new insulin pump) and we then took Archie around as described. A nice day really.

I hope the zoning issues can be sorted out.

The reunion was lovely and the pub had views of the bay and lots of laughter and chatter.
They want to have them more regularly. Sounds good to me.

I am back at work today and hoping it is busy. It is awful when it is quiet. Time drags.

Have a good day.

I went to meditation this afternoon and I felt so much better afterwards.
At 6pm we went to a community meeting to give our reasons for not wanting
the new zoning for our suburbs. Now they can build up to 30 metres. That's
a lot of high rises. I can see what has been done in WestEnd and it is painful.
As a renter, I will be forced to pay a higher rent and others with houses will lose
their views and pay higher rates etc. About 200 + people turned up and we only
have till November 11 to submit any disagreements. Not too much time. Politics eh?

Glad you are feeling better Georgia. A month won't take that long and then you can
have massages again. Saw the family photos and there was a lot of you there.
Tired now, so I'm off to bed.

Richard good idea but nor while my surgery wounds are still healing. Maybe in a few weeks it will be ok.

Susan I am sure that going to the vets will help Archie for sure.

A lovely reunion lunch and ate too much but a very light dinner for me.

Georgia, I a so glad the pain is lessening and you have a massage in your sights! Yes, sympathy cards are often the ones I have to make too. I always have a stamp set on hand to do that, but clever you printing or writing your own greetings.

Anna, I hope Archie gets used to the Vet as well. A friend who was a dog trainer suggested taking him there often, giving treats, just saying hi to the staff and leaving again. I might try that too. He loved Puppy School. Lol! And I sure hope you get all your cards sorted out soon. That would be so inconvenient.

Church day today and I am relaxing this afternoon.

Anna losing things is a pain and waiting for replacements even worse.

Did you ring the theatre in case it got handed in?

My pain in the just has just about gone. If I move too sudden it hurts but I am careful so minimal pain there. My pain is muscular at the moment and I cannot get a massage for a month as the masseurs will not touch me seeing I had surgery. So sitting here doing what I can to alleviate it.

The doctors should ring me again Thursday as i missed their call and they left no number.

Ok doing some laundry and then off to our family reunion lunch at Woody Point.

Poor little Archie. I hope he gets to love the vet. He must have had
some bad experience previously. Puppy school is a good idea.
Wow, all your cards are ready to be mailed now. Good job Susan.

I went for breakfast today and while sitting there watching the boats sail past,
this heavy rain just pelted down for about 5 minutes, then it stopped. By the
time we left, the roads were dry. I wish it would rain for a bit longer.

I have reported my cards and it is a hassle. I will get a new wallet so that
I can keep all my cards in one place. The last time I used it was when I went
to the movie on Wednesday. Can't remember after that. I've lost so many things
lately and it is worrying me.

Hope your pain goes away soon. When do you go back for a checkup Georgia?
Have a lovely Sunday tomorrow.

Anna I am sorry you have lost your card wallet. I just keep it all in one. Never change bags and never change wallets. I do not want to lose anything. I hope they can get them posted to you very quickly.
I am sorry about the liquor - that sounds a bit harsh. I hope they enjoy drinking it lol.

My lower back is still giving me grief but mainly after sitting. I got my orthotics adjusted last week and am wondering if that is the reason. I go back on the 11th and will talk to her then.

Susan poor Archie. I hope he gets to love your vet.
How wonderful that the cards are almost ready to go. Enjoy your card making tomorrow and I would love to see the creations.

I had to make a sympathy card but had no stamp and ended up typing and printing one out.
I will have to get some of those stamps at some stage.

Sun is shining after some glorious rain yesterday we should see some green soon.

Have a good day.

Oh no about the wallet, Anna. I daresay the excitement of DS coming home may have made you a little distracted? I hope you remember all your cards and can get the companies to help sort it all out. What a nuisance. By the way I actually left my wallet home the other day when I needed it as I was going out. I had the handbag but no wallet! It happens.

Georgia, I hope that pain free day is coming soon. Did the Dr give you any idea when that might happen?

Archie is so relaxed at home but I took him for a check up at the Vet's this afternoon and saw a different dog. He was so terrified and shaking. He must have had a bad first experience with a Vet. My Vet suggested Puppy Pre School so now we are looking that up. Poor little guy!

I got the address for sending the boxes ot the military and also the dates they accept packages in NOvember, printed out the rest of the letters and address labels I needed, and now am just needing those four more boxes and to wait till next week to send all 37 of them off. Yay!

I'm all set for card class tomorrow. I'll post pics of the cards we make on PaperCraftCentral. There should be a nice selection.
