Six years ago, I lost 60 lbs and was the smallest I've ever been. I was fit and looked fabulous. Nothing felt better than getting up at 4 am to work out, and losing all desire to eat junk food.
I felt free for the first time. Then arthritis struck (osteo and then rheumatoid). I could no longer exercise and started to gain weight. I was so discouraged that I completely gave up, and eventually gained every single pound back. One would think that I if I'd lost weight before, I could do it again, but I can't even make it through one day of eating well. I am embarrassed, horrified and ashamed. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry.
