I love strawberries. I usually stay away from the food at festivals; although it is delicious. I tend to eat healthy 85% of the time. I am particular about knowing how and what goes into the cooking of food. I don't eat out a lot. It is so much more than the calories. I usually ask myself, is this good for me? I strive to eat heart healthy the majority of the time. It is not an easy task.. emoticon

Ponchatoula has the Strawberry Fedtival this weekend and French Quarter Fest runs Thursday thru Sunday in New Orleans. Plenty good music,plenty good food,and plenty of walking to balance out the calories.

Yesterday was good. I enjoyed the beautiful weather. My workout yesterday was upper body toning DVD with Gin Miller. emoticon

I hit my 8,500 step goal yesterday. Didn't count calories but my weight stayed the same. Going to French Quartet Fest in NOLA this weekend for jazz,food,and walking. How was your yesterday?

Great job with the step count!! My sister gave me a Fitbit bracelet last Monday. I have not taken it out of the box and that was 1 week from today. I need to charge it up and track my steps with you. I have a regular pedometer that I had been using. You are correct, taking small habits work for me too. It has been a very long time since I have exercised. I used to do it 3-4 times a week consistently. Once you stop for whatever reason, it is hard to get into the groove again. My long term goal is to increase my exercise time to 30 minutes every other day; incorporate toning 2X a week and incorporate my stretch tape.

Breakdown:
Cardio 3 times a week
Toning 2 times a week
On the week-ends I will do my stretch tape video for 10 minutes.

Weekends are my off days

Now I am back to the present moment and break it down to one day at a time. emoticon

Yes,these are my plans,and I take it 24hrs at a time. Enough small habits for one day we'll practiced make for positive change. I forgot to mention I track steps daily on a Fitbit bracelet and consistently hit my 8,500 step goal.

Hey Toyota. Today's exercise was 45 min worth of grass cutting with a push mower. I pace myself with frequent breaks and lots of water. Tommorrow looks like 10 min of tai chi to warm up and about 30 of general yard work (raking,trimming,weeding). I log food on spark people with a goal of 1,500 to 2,000 calories. I like your name as we've had a 2016 Camry for two weeks now. Great car.

Great!! Thanks for joining me Warhawk! I hope you are doing well. What will be your plan of exercise? Everyday I plan to log the exercise I did and how long my workout was. I am also keeping track on my exercise log because I may not log on here everyday. Whenever that happens, I will transfer my workouts from my log to this post.

I'm in. Small goals work for me also. I'm 4 years post open heart surgery and need to drop 20lbs by next Sept. per my cardiologist. Need a push to get going.

Does anyone want to join me in a power of 10 workout challenge? We will be challenging ourselves. I don't like to compete with this type of activity. All you have to do is 10-30 minutes of exercise each day. It could be walking, stretching, toning or working out to a dvd or VHS exercise tape. I am also doing a power of 10 healthy eating plan starting Monday. That one is a little more complex for me. I will start with eating fruit every day for breakfast or one of my other meals 1X a day for the next 10 days. I am starting out small because if I go big, I am heading for failure. emoticon emoticon I have already reached my weight loss goal so now I want to maintain and get fit and tone.
