For the past 2 days and today makes day 3, I have been working out. I am starting out with no less than 10 minutes and will gradually build up to 30 minutes. I have not worked out in a very long time. emoticon

Hope all are being safe & dry in the weather.
My guys are on a Scout Camp Out this weekend. And 2 of them are doing Wilderness Survival so will be in the woods & have to make their own shelter.
I'm sure they will be exhausted when they get home tomorrow
I hit the gym this morning (2 hours) and now sitting at Starbucks enjoying a coffee. (I just do brewed coffee)

my calf has been hurting so much.… not properly stretching after cardio. I am doing a 30 day shoulder challenge and have been cutting down on my stretching since it's a progressive challenge. One of the exercises can be easily done in my office while working so I started doing that one at work to give myself the proper stretch time.

I made my daily step goal on Saturday and again today. I was ending 500 short for the day and well, I just couldn't accept that. So I go outside for a quick walk to get to goal. I bet I looked funny walking around my driveway in the dark.

If I enter my foods into SP it syncs with the FitBit app so that helps. But i don't like how you can't enter what exercises you actually did into SP because then it duplicates in FitBit.
Oh well. I guess you can't have it work perfectly

I decided to check my FitBit against another app & the treadmill this morning since I had issues the past 2 days and it's correct now. Didn't even think that Stride Length would need to be entered.

I now have a FitBit ChargeHR and I love it!
I am confused about why the app isn't sync'ing my foods to Spark. It's tedious to enter this in both sites. So I will just be using the FitBit site for food until I figure it out.

We just left Scout Sunday service at the Methodist Church. I really enjoyed the service.

We aren't doing anything for SuperBowl or Mardi Gras. I work tomorrow then off until Thursday. My youngest is at my parents' house until Wednesday because my boys aren't off all week.

You right. My motto has always been "any little bit I do is better than anything I don't do."

Spend the day with my parents, filed our taxes, then hit a Mardi Gras parade. Time to find a new spot to watch it because last night was not enjoyable at all …
I don't like having to feel like I need to watch other people's children or get upset about how other people don't watch their children & then they want to start fights because their child was "acting the donkey" This just makes it miserable

My husband's plans for the day changed cuz he had to work on his truck so I had to cut my workout short for him to go get parts. It's my own fault because I slept late

My mom loves hers and has been finding all kinds of recipes on Skinnytaste. I'm happy that my dad is eating better

Veggietti-that's what I used-around $15 dollars at Walmart. There was a $3 one, but I used that type at my mother in law's house. Nothing to hold onto. Essentially, a little funnel with a blade. The Veggietti is like an hourglass and you can have large strips, or skinny strips of veggies. I like it a lot.

My son HATES veggies, but he said zucchini "spaghetti" was really good. I think he is getting better about the new, healthy meals around here. He is 21. He still eats out, but when he is home for dinner...most of the time... he doesn't complain and seems more open to trying new foods.

I want a Veggetti. Maybe I can get my family to eat more veggies.

I got up to go to the gym at 4am. Did my stair step regimen, 40 minutes on the Arc Trainer, then my daily abd challenge

Down 12 lbs since joining the gym 5 weeks ago!!! Will do my measurements next week (since I didn't do them until 2 weeks after starting the gym).

I know y'all have probably seen people make spaghetti "noodles" from zucchini. Well, I did this tonight. AMAZING!!! A serving, (2 oz) of angel hair pasta is 200 calories. 2 CUPS of zucchini is 40 calories. By not having pasta, I got to have a piece of garlic bread. Zuccini "noodles", Hunt's spaghetti sauce, 6 Rosina Homestyle Meatballs, and a piece of garlic bread...425 calories!!!!!!

I was going to talk about my day, but, HOLD ON A SECOND---There is an ad on this page right now for Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls!!! What tha...??? I know this is a free site, and ads pay so that I don't have to but, GEEZ!!!

Ok, so I didn't "work out" per se today, but I was busy all day cleaning out closets and drawers and a bin or two. I have over 10,000 steps for the day, and I even took a little nap after lunch. I was cold, it was rainy, so I turned on Judge Judy, hunkered down under my cozy fleece blanket, and had a little siesta!

It was a good, productive day!

I have always said that God knew what he was doing by keeping me in Louisiana -- I dislike cold weather.

I did the treadmill on the highest incline. Wow that burns some calories and puts a burn in the gluts. I will be adding that to my regimen.

That's what I thought too.
I've been pushing hard. Going to the gym 6 days/week. So I'll be ok if I skip a day here and there.
I am glad to report that my weight is stable this week. I started a program for the stair stepper. I did my first day today. Now to build up to 30 minutes (3 reps of the program)

I live in New Iberia, which is about 20 miles south of Lafayette

Well, I gave in to my warm bed this morning. The heater doesn't work in my truck and the thought of getting out of my bed and into that cold vehicle was just too much. I was upset with myself for not going but my foot was hurting when I woke up for work. So I'll get over it.
Tomorrow I plan on doing a stair climber regimen I found then will do the stationary bike.

I am super pumped that I am down another lb since rekindling my spark!
(making it 8 lbs in 3 weeks)

I am excited and nervous right now because I am going meet with the Planet Fitness Trainer to do Legs and Arms for 1 hour (each session is 30 minutes). I may be crawling out of the gym and may not be able to get out of bed tomorrow morning. Already looking forward to my Epsom Salt soak when I am done with the trainer today. But heading out to get it done.

I pressed the snooze button a few times and thought about skipping my morning workout; telling myself " I will go after work", which I know rarely happens and I get upset with myself afterwards. So I sucked it up and ventured out into the cold morning to go to the gym and was very pleased with myself. What a great way to start the day!

I am sorry that I have been away so long. Work & Life got in my way but I have rekindled my Spark and vow to keep with it this time.

I joined Planet Fitness on 12/23 and have gone at least 5 days/week since. I do the 30 minute express workout 3 days/week to get total strength training along with 20-30 minutes Cardio (depending on the time I start -- have to be out at a certain time to get myself and family ready for the day). The other days I focus on Cardio only. I am aiming for at least 1 run day/week. I am down 7lbs in 2 weeks so something's working. But of course it will when you eat less and move around more.

I've been off program more than I've been on program, but I know that when I work it...it works. Serving in a wedding in eight months and CANNOT be the fattest bridesmaid. Sorry I've been MIA. Work has been so busy since the new program and now my receptionist is out on maternity leave. I have assistance but just not the same. Our new MA started Thursday so the training started and makes things so much more interesting

Glad I didn't go back home and get back in bed after Adam's scout camp out drop off.
I went for a 2.5 mile walk on my Main Street down town. I just love this walk with all the historical homes and beautiful flowers & trees

Today was so hot, I know I drank over my water limit today! I went to visit my Granny who has ben in the hospital since last Thursday, she is in good spirit! I know God has her and she is going to be just find! I went grocery shopping for a few items that I needed to keep eating healthy! My Goal is to eat healthy this Month without putting something bad in my mouth! I am actually enjoying eating just healthy foods...will see how many pounds melt away! Healthy Eating Is The New Me! Sorry I have been MIA; It has been a horrendous past 2 weeks:
My boys started school on Friday, 8/6. I had to leave the office early on Tuesday, 8/4 for Blake's Freshman Orientation (not ready for a child in high school). Then came in late on Thursday, 8/7 for Adam's 7th grade Orientation. So that put me behind.
I had to be the nurseptionist for a couple hours 3 days this week due the receptionist having to be out for her appointments. I had numerous School Medication, Diet, Anaphylaxis forms to complete and just not enough time in the day with still training the new Medical Assistant and having to stay on top of the other Medical Assistant.
I didn't know that I was the babysitter of the office. It has always been a joke that I am the "office momma" because I make sure that everything is done and keep the providers on track but having to keep track of 5 of the 6 of us is getting hard. The only one that I don't have to check work on is the receptionist but that will change when we get a replacement for her maternity leave.
Well, anyway..... Vent over

Proud to report that I have a 7 day streak on FMs; 5 days were before starting the day!!
I am 20 lbs below where I started 4 years ago and I DON'T WANT TO GET ANY CLOSER!!

Glad to say that I am restarting my FM streak. I started a 30 day strength building challenge for myfitnesspal. I did W1, D4 on Thursday and W1, D1 yesterday. Today is D2 with a 'wog' this evening. I know that I am not in the correct order but have to switch things up a little to accommodate my routine.

Proud to stay the streak is still going; day 4 of FMs was done as a wog at 7am. Actually ran almost 1 of my 3 miles. I am still doing intervals: 1/2 mile warm up then three 0.25 mile run/walk intervals, followed by a 3/4 mile cool down. I pushed myself a little farther this morning but can't really say how much cuz I used a different app to track my distance but I did my road so estimating I did almost a mile.

I passed on the cake and icee at the party but had 3 cookies at my parents' house. I tracked it as I have started tracking everything again. At least I didn't have pizza, cake, icee, and cookies - so I count this as a win

Excited about my 2 day fitness streak. (Baby steps). Planning on some strength training this evening. I wanted to get it done before work but didn't sleep well last night so just ignored the alarm. Today is a light day at work; looks like we will be done early so I will do a Spark Video before leaving the office.
Still planning on a run tomorrow morning.
Will try my best to avoid the cake at my God-daughter's birthday party tomorrow; especially since I'm going spend the afternoon with my parents and my mom is a great cook, but really hoping we have boiled crabs tomorrow Adam went with my dad & brother today. Hope this trip is better than their trip a few weeks ago

Hope that all had a Happy & Safe 4th.
We ended up grilling on Friday with my BIL and his wife; then went watch Fireworks
My parents BBQ'd on Saturday - it rained all evening so we didn't go see anymore.
My hubby picked up some yard jobs so that will help some with finances.

The nose faucet has finally dried up and I was able to do some FMs yesterday. I wogged
and did alright considering I did NOTHING for a week.

I tend to get competitive when I am at the track: I usually just compete with myself - you know try to keep certain distances under a specific time. I know that I should just be working on one thing at a time and stamina should be more important right now ... but I don't like to be lapped more than once. There was a guy at the track with me last night that lapped me a few times. So I am using this as inspiration - I know that I shouldn't compare myself to other people, especially when I saw him doing sprints.
Am I the only one who does this?

Planning to get on my Gazelle tonight, do some Strength exercises tomorrow, and run again on Saturday. maybe I will actually go do something if I put my plan in writing

I felt so bad yesterday that I didn't do any FMs

First day of cycle and it was taking its toll on me -- I was annoyed and hormonal. Plus seem to be coming down with something -- I have a post nasal drip causing an irritated throat and headache.
I am trying to use up some of my vacation time before my MA's last day on 7/17. So I'm off today. Spend the morning doing some housework & reading. Now sitting at Starbucks with my boys.

I pushed myself a little farther on last nights run did two 0.3 mile intervals and another 0.25 mile interval with shorter walking between each set! We tried to get a quick walk in for lunch but started raining on us. So I will try again after work; or maybe I will just do my Gazelle and read. I am proud of myself and did well with my eating yesterday (& so far today).

Hope all enjoy their Father's Day with family

We did Father's Day with my family yesterday since Adam was leaving this morning.
We got up early enjoy to take Adam to breakfast before the Troop left for sure camp
He was so excited and barely even hugged me to say "bye". We had some cuddle time last night. He's a private guy so I understand

I made sure to allow plenty time for breakfast to settle for a good walk while hubby started grilling at his dad's. Now about to sit and relax with a cup of coffee… and listen to those big
mouth guys of mine; they are just so loud.

I had a gain this week; think it's because I am premenstrual. But I also didn't really make the best food choices lately.
Oh well, This too Shall Pass and nothing will change if I don't make changes

Hoping the weather will hold off this evening for a walk with my hubby.

SouthLaCajunGal - Welcome back. I have been struggling with the same 10 lbs.

Started my Biggest Loser Summer Challenge last week and won't have good week 1 Fitness Minutes because of the weather (seems like we have been having mini-hurricanes out of no-where; making it hard to get a walk done) and I somehow have hurt my back.
Finally starting to get some relieve but don't want to over-do it.

Well, I'm back here again. Never really left. Just hadn't been checking in. I've gained a few more pounds, so I need to step up my activity. I guess my metabolism is slowing down or something, since I hadn't changed my activity or eating habits.

Lady 51 --- I'm with you!

Day 1 of my 3 days off - got up early to bring my oldest 'work' at Cub Day Camp (he's volunteering for the week - teaching knot tying today)
So got my run done early; luckily, as it it now pouring. Pleased to say I have ran 3 times since Saturday- getting a little stronger each time. Working on stamina first. Want to be able to run 3 miles straight again.

Managed a walk for Lunch today - it's about time for me to bring back my gym bag and start changing before/after walking. It is starting to get hot and then I freeze for a while after coming in cuz of damp clothing. I had it here but brought it to my grandparents this past weekend (to have more comfortable clothing for moving grandma). Will have to repack it after doing my laundry. Which is my plans for the weekend - actually fold and put away the laundry - try to stop living out of the baskets. LOL

I have been such a slacker lately - planning to do my FMs after work but choosing to sit on the sofa instead. Time to get in gear! The weight will not decrease by just doing that

I did a mile walk for Lunch today and so glad I did! It's beautiful outside & felt great to get out there and out of the kitchen. So I am hoping to go for a Lunch walk 3 days each week and get at least a mile done. Plus it will be extra FMs, if I can get my lazy bones up early again!

April Showers are hitting; The District Camp out was cancelled this past weekend due to it (so Adam didn't get to do the swimming things he needs to be able to rank up) and Adam's Troop Camp out is cancelled for this coming weekend because it is continuing. (not sure what was planned for the campout). Blake will be selling tickets for their upcoming fundraiser
(not really sure what they are even selling ... poboys or hamburgers). Hope they do well for the sale. He needs to earn money to help cover cost of Summer and Winter camps.

Blake wants to start walking with me in the evenings and hopefully we can increase to running again. We'll see.

Blake has a meeting Scout tonight and I have laundry to catch up on since we were away this past weekend. We had a nice time, ate some great food and enjoyed some beverages. The tour was fun but I knew everything (LOL) it was interesting to see the places the events happened but I am a history nerd/buff so already knew the stories so didnt really learn anything. It was fun to see the other peoples reactions to the stories. We enjoyed a free outside concert before the tour and did lots of walking. Hubbys cousin wanted to meet up on Saturday evening as well we had lunch & a drink with him on Saturday but my foot/leg was hurting too much. I tried to be cute and wore shoes other than tennis shoes which I know better, but wanted to look nice for my Hubby. My (phone) pedometer indicated 6 miles each day Whew! No wonder my foot was hurting on the way home. I couldnt even do any Cardio FMs yesterday due to the inflammation/pain in my calf. But feeling better today so went for my Lunch time Walk

I got a iPhone6 and love that it has a pedometer!
Hubby and I will do a lot of walking this weekend - going to New Orleans - just the two of us!
We have not even had a weekend away since the boys were born. Our oldest will be 14 in June

Adam and I had a date day last Saturday - we went watch the Sponge Bob movie after we did his Camp Card Booth. luckily the weather held off and we were able to complete our assigned time. Didn't do so great with sales but they got good donations.

Adam has a boy Scout event and Brandon is working the event so it will just be Blake and me this weekend. We will come spend the day with my parents. I really need to go get a new cell phone because my current phone can't keep a charge. Debating what I want to get. I really think I will stick with the iPhone. I think that we will have a date night and may rent a movie or two

Hope all stay dry since we will be having a rainy weekend here. Adam is scheduled to sell Camp Cards tomorrow (in 50-80% rain) at Wal-Mart without a cover. He is trying to meet a goal for 75 card prior to 3/4 to earn 2 free tickets to Monster Trucks & earning money to help pay for Summer Camp (I think this summer's camp in Mississippi is $275).
The boys are doing the classroom portion of Wilderness Survival merit badge on Sunday; they will do the outdoor portion in 2 weeks.

I had lost my spark for a while too; ready to get it back & get back on track.

I much prefer to walk/run outside

I ran 0.6 miles today; A little more than the last 2 times. I think that I will stick with that distance for a bit to make sure I don't hurt myself. I've been fine after my last 2 "wogs" so will just build up slowly.

My husband was in charge of the campout/event this past weekend and needed help with registration so I went for part of the day. I did a lot of walking and visited with some people I hadn't seen in a while. I am glad that my guys had a nice camp out.

Can't wait for the weather to get nicer so my co-worker and I can start walking for Lunch again. It will be nice to maybe get 2 groups of FM a few days each week.

just a quick check in - Hope that all is going well for everyone.

My guys are camping this weekend and get to have the house to myself on Saturday evening. Planning a little wog Saturday evening. Blake & I went walk Wednesday afternoon and I decided to try a little jog. I was so pleased... only jogged about 0.5 of my 2 miles, but it's progress AND my foot didn't hurt anymore than usual yesterday. So I decided that I will continue doing small amounts a couple times a week and increase from there.

Lisa, I was seeing the end of my journey - only 15 lbs away from my final goal and I just fell right off track - gaining almost 30 lbs back. I almost gave up completely again but decided that this journey will be a life-long one. I will never be able to not exercise and eat what I want. I will have to keep working at it for always. so I am working on finding the willpower and desire again

Nice to see such motivation. I too walked for part of my lunch hour. I am trying to get back on track. Had a successful 2013 and only lost 10 pounds in 2014. With lots of weight to loose, I am trying to get back on track for 2015.

Hello All
I am sorry that I have been MIA; Holidays, busy work schedule, co-worker out....

Glad we all survived the Holidays and ready for a fresh, New Year.... LOL
Now to prepare for the upcoming cold weather ... I do believe I was born in Louisiana for a reason; I am not made for cold weather. So glad to only have a little winter and not nearly what some of my other Spark Friends.

I took advantage of a long lunch and went walk instead of staying in the office kitchen feeding my face with things I didn't need. I have made healthy choices for the past 2 days so I am excited. I feel like finding my spark and desire to get healthy again. AMEN!

Heading out to go spend the rest of the afternoon with my boys and get ready for 4pm Mass
before starting our Food Fest for the next few days. Glad we don't have another Holiday for a while, except I just saw a post that it is 40-something days until Mardi Gras which means KINGCAKE time. UGH, it never ends does it. Well, it is time for me to start working on my willpower.
