Another good idea! Yesterday was an okay day. I am taking care of my 87 year old mom this week who has Parkinson's disease. This affects her profoundly. She can only communicate with difficulty and has great difficulty getting up and walking with her walker. She has to take meds three times a day and has to do some speech therapy every morning. But--considering that--we shared oatmeal for breakfast, I fixed cottage cheese and tomatoes and pickled cucumbers for her while I had a tomato-basil salad and cup of leftover chicken vegetable soup. For dinner I fixed chili (half ground beef, half ground buffalo) and added some extra sodium for her sake, so that wasn't great--otherwise it was a healthy meal with some guacamole, salsa and organic tortilla chips on the side. I made a quick trip to Walmart for supplies and walked for an hour there, and I worked in the garden for 10 minutes or so--my tomatoes are ripening quickly.

" The pain you feel today will be the strength you feel tomorrow."

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;

I'm going to try starting a new thread each day where we can all say a quick hello and engage in conversation regarding progress.

I had a great day yesterday - I stuck to my eating plan and spent 45 minutes on the treadmill. I made a great cedar-planked tilapia for dinner last night and loaded up on steamed veggies.

How did things go for you?
