i am so sorry to hear about your MIL. I am sending thoughts of strength your way.

we all feel you about being stressed out. just pick small positive thing - pack a snack, go for a walk, something. just one thing. :) you will feel great and will want to do even better.

if all else fails - grab a piece of chocolate :)

We ALL understand how you feel. We all get the stress, the disappointment, loss of motivation, the list goes on. That's why we're here - we are here to help others, to tow or to push, whatever it takes to pull our friend out of the mire.

Maybe instead of worrying with weight LOSS right now, focus on keeping your weight where it is and making sure it doesn't go up. I know, easier said than done when life hands you a ton of lemons. Always look at the positive side of things - first, Gustav came in at a lower category than expected - A true God send if you ask me! I don't know what stage your MIL is in as far as the lung cancer is concerned, but there are treatments for many patients. And lastly, remember, we are here for you - a support team. We're here to encourage, not discourage. We're here to help not to condemn. What you're going through, we've all gone through and we know what its like. Many of us will go through this phase again and again. I know I have!

Good music always gives me a good pick-me-up. Take a few songs on your MP3 player (or just a walkman if that's all you have like me!) and rock out for 10 or 15 minutes on a walk. It doesn't have to be long - just enough for time to yourself.

We'll get through this - We're here for you if you need us!! =)

-Sarah

Nikki, I'd be worried about you if you weren't stressed out after finding out a family member has cancer. Just do the best you can do & remember to take care of yourself while helping out others!

I truly understand how you feel. My MIL is an 8 year survivor from lung cancer. If you ever need a shoulder, I am here. I will certainly remember your family in prayers for health and protection through this storm.

Fix yourself some healthy, low-cal snacks to munch on. If they are ready to munch I can reach for them as quick as I can the chocolate. That might help a little. Maybe a good workout will help you get all the stressful things off your mind for a while too. I don't like most of the OTC things for myself, they make me jittery.

We're here for you, to offer some support, to be a friend.
Hugs!
Jana

I'm in a funk right now, not having lost really any weight, and more stress with the start of school, plus my MIL was just diagnosed with lung cancer. So, right now, my hubby is in Lafayette, LA waiting for Hurricane Gustav to pass and spending time with his family... As you can guess, I'm not sleeping much while he is gone... just eating chocolate and coping with nerves for now... will get back on when he gets home safely....

I am really contemplating using something OTC to kick start the weight loss....

I could use some support right now... I know we're supposed to pull our own wagons, but I could use a tow truck right about now...
