Yeah, I made it. And, so far I like it a lot. The only thing I don't like so much is that she layered my bangs some, and they are already thin.

But, the old color is mostly gone (it was VERY blonde), and now I have golden blonde.

As long as it hides the gray...it's fine with me.

Let the good times roll!

I'm too lazy for bangs! lol how's that for an answer.... they just take too much upkeep! This is also the reason I've never like perms and since my hair has so much natural curl, I just work with what God gave me. However, I cannot live with the gray so color we MUST do! Last time Trisha (my country hairdresser) did my color I had her do a two color cap thing (first cap with red, second with blond)... a little painful for me (I have a very tender head) but the results were amazing. I'm thinking about doing the exact same color process as before, but then having her do some layering to help it look better when I do want it curly and still look good when I straighten it.

I have donated hair to locks of love before but that was before I started coloring my hair - I don't think they'd want the colored hair as much as the virgin hair that has never been processed. Plus I'm not getting that much taken off. Long hair is work, but I really do like having it again.

Nikki, you hair didn't look "thin & limp" to me today. Did you make to it JCP for a color & style? Hope they did a good job for you.

Trisha lives in Wesley (north of Elkins) and has her own little building for doing hair - I really like it there.

Hey, Paula. My roots are at about 3 inches, too. LOL
I only get my hair done about every 4 months because
1) it grows SO slowly
2) it costs a fortune (I have been using JC Penney)
3) I used to be a hairdresser and can never seem to get the "perfect" cut. (I WISH I could do my own, but the back ends up NOT good)
I had a lot of blond in it, highlights with a cap, but my hair is thin and limp. It has also decided to be somewhat curly recently (maybe that is from the grays that I am trying to hide). LOL
If your hair has a lot of curl, layers will help you, but only if they are long. Otherwise, they will curl up to nothing and be hard to manage.

Lots of the new looks have heavy bangs. Are you going with bangs???

Let the good times roll!

Well, let me just say that I miss my long hair terribly. Paula - I'm like you - my hair is ALWAYS in a pony tail. I feel like baby Simba when my hair is down. I don't like the way it feels on my neck, but I really, REALLY missed my hair when I cut it. Don't get me wrong, donating my hair was one of the best things I could do, but my stylist cut of...are you ready?? THIRTY inches of hair. Yes, thats THIRTY as in two and half feet! He cut off a pony tail that was 24" exactly, so I sent that in to Locks of Love...then he kept cutting and before long, the hair that I sat on when I got there was now just below my ears. Ugh so traumatic! Now, just over two years later from my last cut (and last visit to the stylist) it's about to my shoulderblades, maybe a bit longer. I will regrow my hair and even though it was up ALL the time, I loved it...washing it, brushing it, playing with it...So I say, if you're going to cut your hair, make sure it's a cut you enjoy and that's easy to do. I haven't seen you, aside from pictures, so it's hard for me to give advice. Long is good, but if you do CUT it, make sure it's at least 10" off so you can donate it =)

I hear you girl! Me too! They always tell me come back in 6-9 weeks to get my hair done again. Like I have the time or the $$$ to deal with that.

I have to remember to stop and think.

WOW that is SO funny because every cut I choose is better for thicker hair. I think if you keep the length with some light layers and have a blend of colors like your base the darkest of course then have some highlights foiled in. Light layers would give your hair some lift so you don;t have to use a ton of product to show the natural curl you already have. I always have a hard time going for something different when cut is concerned because I like to be able to pull it up when I go mow. I think light layers keep the length and the colors would look really pretty. When you have multi colors like the caramels the roots look a bit natural when they come in so you don;t have to rush to your stylist every 6 weeks. That's what I love about foiling.

I have to remember to stop and think.

well, this is kinda embarassing but my roots about about 3" long (could be a little more cuz I didn't measure those).

I was going to get the highlights freshened up definately, but maybe some different kind of cut. I do want to keep most of the length, should I go to layers? It's basically all one length right now, but I'm really tired of it like this. I've got some natural curl & like today I put tons of product in it so it IS curly.

Ron said he doesn't care... he likes it long but it's my hair... HA! I know he cares! He loves it long.

I don't really know what cut to look at. I've looked at her magazines, but have no idea. My hair is really thick and it seems like every cut I choose is better for thinner hair and doesn't end up looking the same on me. POOF!

What are you wanting to do? Get it cut? Get it foiled? Are you wanting subtle color? Give us more details? You can always get one of those hair magazines find a cut that you like and show it to your stylist. I've done that before and it was a great help to the person cutting my hair. I never know what I really want done unless I do that. I personally feel that your hair long looks awesome. U can get the sun bleached beach look for summer?

ok ya'll, I'm getting my hair done Monday night & need some help deciding what to do.

Just to give ya'll a reference, when my hair ISN'T in a ponytail, it hangs 7" from the top of my shoulders or in a different reference 14" from a high ponytail.

So, come on with those suggestions!
