Yes, Tropical Smoothie rocks! I rarely go out to eat (because my husband is an excellent cook!), but I like to go to Flying Burrito and get the "skinny burrito". Now, I don't know exactly how skinny it is...but it can't be that bad! I don't eat chips with it though. Almost everywhere I go there is some form of grilled chicken dish, or a nice salad to choose. A guy I went to school with has some kind of health food restaurant in Fay...I sure can't remember the name of it now! I think it's over on 6th street maybe, they had a write-up in the paper last year about how they use organic veggies, and feature lots of low-cal dishes. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Now I have to google it.....

There are a few Low cal places in Fayetteville. There is a little place just off Dickson Street called Smiling Jack's - I've only had it one time but really liked it alot. It's too far from my office to go there for lunch. There is a Mexican place that has a chicken dish that is VERY good and if you share it with someone else, it wouldn't be too much food; La Hacienda on Zion Road. One more place that is pretty good (but very price-y) is located across the Road from La Hacienda at Fayetteville Athlectic Club called Camellia's, they have healthier sandwiches. Also just north of the intersection of Joyce & Crossover (Hwy 265) is a Tropical Smoothie - I LOVE that place but don't go there often.

I knew about Applebee's, but haven't been to Ruby Tuesday in awhile so didn't realize they had low-cal stuff. Thanks for the tip.

I made the mistake of going to Olive Garden one day, and ordered one of their "lighter fair" meals (but they didn't have a nutrition card, convenienty enough). When I got home I looked it up and it still had over 600 calories in it! Ridiculous! I was also recently at Uno's and they don't have much in the way of low-cal low-fat stuff. It's really frustrating, because I love going out to eat, but I'm too afraid of it now!

It seems like most of the regular chains have a low-cal menu now so you should be able to order easily and track the cals. I'm referring to Applebee's, Ruby Tuesdays, etc. I am not familiar enough with the other local-owned restaurants in Fayetteville especially. Maybe some others on the team can help you out with placed down there. I hope you really like it here!

Hello everyone. I'm finally coming down to visit from June 14th-18th. Very excited! However, I'm really worried about ruining the good work I've done with calorie counting. I've stayed at the low end of my range ever since I started, and I really don't want to stop! Sooo, I'm hoping for some recommendations for good, healthy places to eat while I'm visiting. Ideally I would be able to somewhat easily track the calories, but if I can't then so be it. I at least want to feel like I've stayed approximately within my range.

Thanks a bunch!! :)
