No worries - I did one day last week and my knee is STILL paying for it. No running for me until I shed some more weight. I'm getting exercise videos from Netflix, though, so it works out.

I'm sorry, girls.... I just don't have the time to do a program this structured - oh, how I wish I did. Maybe when school is out and I can go to the gym every night after I pick the boys up from daycamp it will work for me. That's what I'll shoot for. Let's see, the last day of school for us is June 4 so daycamp starts the following monday which is June 9 (?)... I can start June 9 and take it thru the summer and see how I do one it then. Shoot, by then ya'll will be experts!!

Awesome! Glad you are trying it. I TRIED to do Week 2 Day 1 today but I couldn't finish it, it kicked my butt on my calf muscles. The first week was really tough for me...but we'll get stronger and increase our indurance. Keep me posted!

I just started this today. Some girls at work are doing this program and let's just say I'm definitely going to pay for it tomorrow.

That's great Paula! It's a good way to condition your body for it slowly. I'm impressed with the program and I joined the C25K sparkteam too. Lots of great encouragement from others doing the same program. Good Luck! Let's keep each other updated!

I checked out the website & after seeing their calender I think I'll wait until Monday to start instead of tomorrow. They want you to work out Days 1,3 & 5 which will fit in good with my M,W & F lunch hour. GREAT! I also wrote down the second two weeks & am going to put the info into my calendar at work with a reminder set to go off before I leave for the gym on those days.

cool! thanks. I probably can't do it everyday until school is out (I can't go to the gym on Tuesday since that day I go to my weight watchers meeting & after work my husband goes to the gym so I've gotta pick up the boys) but I can do it all the other days. I'll start tomorrow & see how I do

Think you could tell me what to do each week since you're a week ahead?

Yes, I am following the Cool Runnings Couch to 5K program. For Week 1 you warm up (walk) for 5 minutes then alternate running for 60 seconds, then walking for 90 seconds for a total of 20 minutes. It increases every week for 9 weeks. You can find the program online. Someone told me about a podcast by Robert Ullrey you can download to your mp3/ipod and he tells you when to run/walk. It's a lot better than trying to watch a clock! Let me know if you need help finding anything!

I was a runner in highschool..I ran 5 miles everyday. I ran 5K's in my 20's and loved it...so it's time to do it again! I started the Couch to 5K program today and WHEW am I out of shape! LOL! I could even finish the first day routine, so I may have to take it a little slower than planned. I am determined to get there...this is the first step toward my long term goal of being in a triathlon!
