The end result or satisfaction of getting rid of stuff you no longer use and seeing the organization of items and more living space.

Decluttering and organizing is definitely my thing! Actually brings me peace of mind, like I'm mentally decluttering as I physically declutter. Like the process as well as the end result. Also like to think of who might appreciate or be blessed by something(s) I have, but don't use or need.

I agree with Ravyna that the end result is one favorite part of organizing. But, I enjoy the process of bringing order out of chaos as well. I do get overwhelmed and intimidated by actually getting started part, but once I get going I gain momentum and can keep at it until I'm happy with the progress and end result. I really like making that trip to Goodwill or the consignment shops also.

Wow! What an heirloom to have such a desk! Imagine all that was accomplished by the people before you sitting at it!

My favorite part of organization is the end result, or finding something that I thought I had gotten rid of that was precious to me. I recently found a bin in my craft room that contained several things that belonged to my father that I thought were given away three years ago when we moved to our current house. Not only was I excited, so was my husband for me.

I like clearing space -- especially in my craft room. I find it satisfying to create space in a cluttered closet or overburdened bookshelf. Of course, it tends to get filled in again, too quickly it seems!!

The last couple of years I've been trying to eliminate things like rubbermaid totes/bins and bookcases so there's a limit to how many books and balls of yarn I can accumulate. I have one big tote full of fabric for sewing (down from 3) and two bins of yarn (which I need to get working on).

I've given away about half of my scrapbooking stuff but I"m on the fence about whether to keep the rest or give it away too. It's been handy to have some of it on hand to make last-minute, er, homemade cards during lockdown.

Getting rid of so much has made it possible to actually find the things I want to use and I'm enjoying that aspect of my organizing.

My sewing desk needs to be one of my next major projects - I've stuffed a lot of misc things into the drawers - it all needs to come out and get sorted/pitched. The desk itself was made by my great-grandfather so it's cool to be using something that has been around longer than I have - it's not exactly pretty but I love that he made it especially for his daughter, my grandma. emoticon
