I've been re organising my vegetable garden, plus our household Budget and my office desk.

Earlier in the month I've done more this is just what I have done in the last week / few days.

WOW great organizing Ohana !! I love the idea of a bar to hang the spray bottles etc.
I think I could get a small curtain rod that is spring loaded and stick that under my sink.
I don't think I could crawl under there to put in bar.

In February I only have done two things. I cleaned out the cluttered cavern beneath my kitchen sink, got rid of a bunch of stuff, and organized under there. I bought everything at the Dollar Tree (one of my fave stores) and used a couple things we already had. Hubby put a bar across the top to hang spray bottles, too. Now it looks so clean and I can find everything I need. I also added a light :)

I also cleaned out and organized the huge cavern cabinet above my pantry. It's about the same size as under my sink, bigger since there are no pipes to contend with. I added shelving to one side for cake pans, cookie sheets and other "flat" cookware, then on the other side we made room for hubby's sous vide "kit". I can get to everything easily now. Before I basically had to take out everything to find what I needed.

It's not much for a whole month, but it is a start!

Our condo was fumigated (hate it) on the 12th, but it gave me a chance to unclutter.

Bedroom - donated 'big' clothes, shoes and accessories I haven't used in more than a year.

Kitchen - dumped old condiments, unused spices, frozen foods that have been in the freezer for a long time and anything that looked like a science project gone haywire. Removed unusable plastic containers, donated foods that I don't need to be eating and plan to give away boxes of cooking utensils, pots and pans, dishware that are in excellent condition but haven't used in a long time to my nieces.

Livingroom - donated books, and dust collecting 'stuff', and looking for a new home for unused stereo speakers and a computer monitor.

Linen closet - donated older blankets, bedspreads and other linens still in good condition and recycled old towels for rags.

Office - shredded old financial statements and obsolete files (two kitchen bags worth).

Updated to add:
Recycled/reorganized existing storage to make it more efficient.
Cleared out a chest of unnecessary/unused 'stuff' (working on another chest)

I have been doing a bit of organizing here and there. I am looking forward to March. In the next few days I am going to make a plan so I can get through the house again. I want to get mostly done before the warm weather comes.

I got through the bins of clothes under my bed. I purged two bags worth of clothes now I have an empty bin and some bins aren't full but they're labeled for season. The bins I have left are:

Fall/winter almost fits and I kept just the stuff I was partial too
Spring/Summer almost fits
Miscellaneous almost fits that has some Pajamas and jackets and some stuff that is more all year that didn't fit into a season category
Then I have a box of Off Season stuff that DOES FIT so when I switch my clothes around I know to grab that bin and put the winter stuff in it and take the summer stuff out. I know it is the only bin I need at the moment so this year when I switch my clothes around I won't have to dig through all of those bins.

I even got to get rid of a few things that were too big!!! I'm down 45 pounds and counting!

Oh wow big changes happening with the preparation then finally the move. Good luck with it all littleguysmom1. There is always a lot to do when you move but Iím sure youíll be fine though.

Today Iíll be dusting, watering the garden and putting some new lettuce and celery plants in. Have to cook my husband his chocolate cake he likes plus have to prepare some pasta sauce so we can have pasta and salad tonight for dinner my dad and his wife will be joining us.

Iíll also be decluttering my sideboard shelves in my dining room.

I spent some time with the kiddos going through our DVD's. I have a stack to take to the kids consignment shop and some for the library sale. I also found 3 Harry Potter books on CD that I will also take to the library. At one time I had a job that allowed us to listen with headphones so I did a lot of books on tape and CD.

We found out last week that we are moving to NC after school gets out in June (Hubby is going down in March to start his new job) so we need to get everything sorted and out of the house to sell it. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment, but I'll take it in baby steps.

Reorganized my file cabinet & shredded what was no longer needed.
I will not need to look at it for 3 months now.
I can do other stuff in the meantime.

I would not have 40 bags to donate.
In the last 2 years I donated 10 large full size green garbage of clothes as I lost weight, 2 large bags at a time. Now for clothes I keep a small grocery food size plastic bag handy that I put small items & clothes in to donate, when it is full I donate it. I try to remember to have a good look at my clean clothes after I do the laundry to make sure I do not put stuff in my closet that I would rather donate. I will not have to go through clothes again now. That part will be easier this way.

Thereís a program called 40 days...which involves focusing on an area of our living spaces and donating or discarding a bag a day during the Lenten season. 40 bags for 40 days. Iím doing that and already feeling the benefits in my house. Cleaned out a utensil drawer, our drug supplies, my make up. Lent doesnít really start until tomorrow, but....

Saturday - I went to an all day Sit & Sew with my quilting group at church. I didn't get a lot of sewing done......but sure had a good time. I made 2 Halloween theme placemats for Meals on Wheels and also worked on several of our group project quilts that will be given at church tomorrow AM
We laugh ourselves silly when we get together to sew !!!! Lots of fun.

I emptied recycling bins & did some laundry. Now the bad news!!

The picture is my toaster oven from Hamilton Beach that caught fire when I tried to toast bread, it is 12 months old with a 5 year warranty. It states on the front door of the oven, large capital letters, " IF IT IGNITES UNPLUG THE CORD AND DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR". It should not be sold at all. Better homes and gardens state many other brands also do this. I will contact the company, government inspectors, my local newspaper which has someone come to your home & looks after investigating these types of incidents. I posted on Facebook, I will put the pictures up tomorrow on it. I have more pictures on my blog & photos.

I have 2 rules I try to follow with paperwork.

1. One piece of paper at a time,. I have the tendency to get overwhelmed and then I shut down.

2. One touch only. ...once I pick up that one piece of paper, I have to deal with it. Not set it aside to handle later.

I didn't get any work done yesterday so that is on my schedule today. And I am hoping to go through some more photo albums during the super bowl

Today I plan to clean the top of my desk. This is a HUGE one for me - it is covered with piles of paper - things I want to read - things I don't know where to file. I tried to work my way through the piles once before and I had nowhere to put the papers I wanted to file away so....first up - I need to unpack my box of files - go through them - put them in my empty file drawer.

So today - step one, unpack - go through - the files!!

Oh no - I forgot to create the February thread yesterday !!!
But I have my organizing plans started for the month.
I'm going to keep up with my usually FULL laundry basket (just finished all my laundry)
and hope to get some yard work done - it is that time of year here when things are growing like crazy - need to trim my shrubs, work on "bald" patches in the lawns and re-pot a few things that have gotten out of control.
Happy February !!!
