my dh cleaned out the office closet. it is not a big closet but we got rig od extra cables, old electronic pieces and he then took them to get recycled. we moved the stuff a little over 2 years ago and they got stored. we kept putting off going through them, but now it is done.

I got 27 weeks of organization done in the past 9 weeks because of no kids, no pets & no house to work on. I now have 6 months left to do.

I have pleurisy, 3 types of anemia from Iron, folic acid, other vitamins not working, chronic pneumonia, chronic kidney disease and low blood pressure & blood clots in both lungs for 3 years..I am 55 years old. I had 6 operations recently. I had cervical cancer 6 years ago, no signs last 3 years as well.

I have my outside lites all lined up and ready to hang on the 1st - I put up cuphooks on the eaves last year.....so will be very easy.

Need to think about shopping - fortunately only a few things to buy and the young folks like $$$$ or gift cards.

I live in Canada,so Thanksgiving last month, I had 1 person for dinner so used chicken thighs with roasted vegetables & all the usual trimmings. I made a homemade pumpkin cheesecake pie for dessert. The person I had over took pictures before serving to send to their family by text message. They were surprised. I did all preparation & clean up myself. Everything except the pie I made earlier that day, as it sets in the fridge & everything was not cooked in the oven, it was put in at different times to be ready at the same time. I made one thing to put in the oven, then got next item prepared,4 items total & 2 hours cooking. Prepared everything while cooking except pie.

I have pleurisy, 3 types of anemia from Iron, folic acid, other vitamins not working, chronic pneumonia, chronic kidney disease and low blood pressure & blood clots in both lungs for 3 years..I am 55 years old. Picked up the sewing room and then decided to make placemats for "Meals on Wheels" and now the room is kind of a mess again. Right now I'm sorting through my yarn....looking for enough to make some socks - don't need them, just want to make them.

Great job! As for me. Half my house is packed. I have as many boxes to sell as I do to pack. Even my paperwork is being sorted. I'll be done the paperwork after one more box. It went back to 1990!

Yesterday I achieved my goal. I cleaned and organized the house. I am proud of myself and celebrated with a glass of wine and some of my favourite chocolate hazelnut bar. Hubby made supper and I sat and relaxed. My celebration did not turn into a binge which I am also happy about.
Today I will make a new plan but the major work is done.

New to this team.
Here is a list of some things organized this month.

Clothes to donate to a women's center, they have free lunches, showers, laundry etc. there & can put my larger clothes to good use. There lunches are healthy & homemade. They have 4 free lunch days per. week. I have lunch 1 day a week. 7 grocery bags to them, 2 bags to thrift store I volunteer at that donates all money to hospital, it is nicer clothes for party's etc. that women's center would not need.

Organized my 2 pantry's plus another cupboard with canned food & donated some to food bank & to friend that could use it.

Organized some papers to shred, my shredder stopped working so I cut papers in tiny pieces while watching T.V. Have lots more to shred later. I am organizing other papers to shred later this month.

Hubby and I worked in the garage today. We have a load of boxes and bins in our family room from our bedroom makeover, plus a dresser from my daughter's room. We are cleaning up the wood and tools we are done with now that our reno is just about finished. All Hubby has left to do is make the spice racks to go on the pantry doors. So he went to Home Depot and got brackets to hand up in the garage for all the wood trim, his workbench is just about cleared and we have a load of stuff for the Habitat for Humanity ReStore to pick up - a pre-hung door we didn't use, some can light fixtures and a couple other things. I made one trip to Goodwill and then the consignment shop to sell some clothes. I'm hoping to make another trip to the kids' consignment shop to sell some of their outgrown items. I need to find a way to sell the dresser. i'll probably post it on FB or something. Anyway - making progress!!

Hi Rosie !!! Welcome to our thread. ( love to crochet too)
-----------------
Today I went to an all day Sit & Sew at my quilting group at church. Getting ready for our Annual Holiday Bazaar that starts tonight.
I sewed 10 or 12 small cotton napkins that have coffee and coffee mugs all over the print. - very cute and they go with some of the items we are selling.
Now I'm exhausted and home sitting on the couch watching the evening news.

All I accomplished at home was making my bed, unloading the dishwasher and picking up some of the counters - they seem to collect "junk" all the time.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend and a big salute to our Veterans !!

The first thing on my to do list is taking care of my little boy. Second is me. emoticon But his dad took our little boy early this week since I told him my health took a downwards turn, so I could rest.

I did a little picking up of things and washed dishes, and otherwise have been resting. Today was supposed to be laundry day, but I'll do that next weekend instead unless there's something I urgently need to wash between Monday and Friday.

My health has taken a turn for the worse, temporarily, and I haven't been able to get anything done for a few days. But I washed the dishes yesterday, which felt like the greatest achievement in history, so I'm good with that for now.

Well, the electrician came yesterday and today I am still in shock. Can you believe it was $45 to change 2 fluorescent bulbs - He kept trying to up-sell me to stuff that he said was bad or dangerous or needed fixing - BUT I knew it was total up selling. I hate it when they do that and try to take advantage of a female
But on a positive note - I now have lights in my master bath vanity area

PS the cleaning lady came today and the house looks wonderful - I need to try to keep it that way. LOL

I 'm still slugging away at my pantry shelves on the upper landing of the basement. These are not huge shelves but each one seems to take 30-60 minutes to clean, reorg & inventory. Number 4 shelf done yesterday and number 5 started: total of 70 minutes.
Shelf #4 holds boxes of jello & pudding mixes, candy (yes, candy), nuts, seeds & trail mix. Shelf #5 has one crate of my prescriptions & supplements, one crate of my husband's, and one crate we share. Also more nuts that didn't fit on above shelf.

I moved some things around and I like it better already. I also freed up a drawer by putting some utensils in a crock on the counter. I hope to get some done today but have a lot of other things on the go.

This is the 3rd time I try to post here -- my AOL keeps quitting on me -- unusual.
Anyway, yesterday I cleaned, reorganized and inventoried the 3rd shelf of my basement upper landing pantry: specialty vinegars & oils, cooking wines, and coconut products. Today it's on to the 4th (and maybe 5th?) shelf.

My big task today was organizing and finding an electrician to come to my house to repair burned out lights that are really high up and too difficult for me to reach - also probably need ballasts replaced in the fixtures. I can't believe how difficult it is to find someone and get a 1 day appointment for them to show up.
But I'm glad it is arranged and hope that they show up tomorrow AM.

At this point - I don't care how much it costs (LOL within reason)
Just a frustrating day.

I got through the cookbooks and saved recipes on scraps of paper and tear outs from magazines. I was able to let a lot go into the recycle bin. I also took 2 boxes down stairs to see if the kids want any. Today I am figuring a better way to store spices. The bags are cheaper but are not handy the way they are now.

I believe you made a great choice: walking for the Cure versus housecleaning. And you deserved that nap!

Didn't get much organizing or cleaning today......LOL
I walked the Susan Komen Walk for the Cure.
I was up at 5:00AM to ensure that I was able to get a parking spot. There were thousands of people there and some really creative costumes. (lots of dogs walking and being pulled and pushed in strollers, wagons, and carts.)
When I added up my walking (before - after - and during the actual walk) I got well over 5 miles......
So I came home and took a nap HA HA HA

I finished the living room yesterday. I have started in the kitchen with my shelves of cook books. My first task is to sort out the ones that I actually use. I need to get rid of the rest.

For most of the week I was tied up with prepping for our Lions Club tag sale that we held Fri & Sat. That took up a great deal of my time and energy. But now that's done for another qtr year and I can concentrate on home. Already this morning I've spent 1/2 hour cleaning the kitchen and 1 hour cleaning, sorting, reorganizing and inventorying the 2nd shelf of the basement upper landing pantry. (top shelf I did manage to get done last week). And now, due to the bonus hour given today as Daylight Savings ends, it's only 4:00 a.m. with the whole day in front of me!

Yesterday was laundry day, and today I'll get some well-deserved rest.

My big accomplishment for today was making a charity quilt. Got the "kit" from my guild last month and it has been sitting in the living room.
Today I started it and surprised myself - totally finished and even put the label on the back.
Feels good to have that task completed.
Even got a little house "pick-up" and "cleaning" done.
