For the past week or so I've been cleaning out and rearranging the furniture (or more like supervising the movement of furniture) in the bedroom. I already had plans for it, but we found out I'm pregnant, so now we're trying to get the bedroom done ASAP so we can find space for the little one and the things we need.

Knuckles - starts at 6:30 at Visitor's Info Center - Mission Bay and it is a BEAR to drive there at that time of day...... so I don't go regularly.
Another walk Tuesdays starts 5:00pm At Albertson's Parking lot near you.
I'll get the details and PM you.....

OOPS - called my friends from RB and they don't do that walk anylonger...... emoticon

I have a new foster dog who is about a year old. Yesterday I didn't walk him and man did he get himself into all sorts of things at the house. Lesson learned, he needs at least a 30 min walk every day.

Sounds like a good walking group. Do you meet at Mission Bay? what time?

Getting another part of my life organized. I finally went back to my Tuesday evening walking group and we did a nice paced 4 miles along the bay - it was a beautiful sunset.
I had not walked with them in about a year and had given up..... but I did it and I enjoyed chatting with old friends - now I'm motivated to go back.
So that is another area of my life that I've gotten back to organizing !!!

Sorry Knuckles - I don't know of any apps, but there are thousands and thousands of patterns online. Can't tell you how many hours I have "wasted/spent" pouring through all of them - not to mention the patterns on Pinterest. It is like an addiction !!!

Deep Cleaning
It started out innocent enough. I started wiping down my stove, and realized that there was a lot of crumbs under the stove. Part of good health is living in a crean home. I can reduce dust mites by cleaning up these dirty areas with a damp mop. It is almost ant season in our area, and I dont want to feed those creatures any more than I have to.
Anyhow, I moved my stove, and realized that I have a big job. I vacuumed up all that I could, then swept, then mopped the floor, sides of the stove, inside the oven I pulled out the oven draw, and scrubbed it out.
The 2 minute wipe down, turned into a 2 hour deep cleaning. I feel so much better cooking on a clean stove in a clean kitchen!

Gosh - Friday already !!! But I am managing to keep the house organized and even do a bit more purging of "junk" . It is going to be a very warm weekend here - so I need to be sure to water my yard and keep the flowers "wet".

Wow you all are doing great with your organizing this month! I'm making very....slow....progress. A donation truck was here earlier this week and took away a tall table and two stools along with several - maybe 8-10 boxes of donations. We've been in our "new" house 8 months now and we still have stuff waiting to find a home. I guess I just need to take small steps whenever I can - one box or 15 minute increment at a time :)

Hoorah !!! I made it all the way around the house and things are all picked up and put away.
Looks amazing.
Then
My gardener came and did the lawns and hedges front and back, then after he left I trimmed one small Plumbago bush that he didn't do.
I must say the house and yard look wonderful
It sure feels good.

I spent most of yesterday looking at new casual dining dishware. It time to replace the set with missing pieces that i have supplemented with garage sale finds for too many years. I have two other sets of good china and am debating starting to use one set as every day dishes. But one set hasn't even been used for special occasions much, maybe it is time to sale that set and buy new stuff i like better.

I also ordered drawers we can use in my son's new wardrobe. They should be here this week

It's been incredibly relieving and freeing. I didn't realize how much stress the things I knew I didn't want was putting on me until I started seeing people take them away from me. And then I found more things I have kept just in case, like a toaster. I don't eat any grains, so I don't eat bread, and my partner is afraid of getting diabetes, so I don't buy bread for his sake either. And while I know you can toast other things in a toaster, I never do it, because it's been at the back of a cupboard. And I thought "Why do I even have this thing that no one ever uses? Someone else will have more use of it."

Noah

Noah - Doesn't it feel good to purge stuff out of your house?
I did a big purge a few months ago and it felt very "freeing"
I had so much stuff that I didn't wear, didn't use, didn't need -
Hope you felt the same about your "decluttering".

I've been decluttering my entire apartment the past few weeks to get rid of things I didn't get rid of during the move in January last year. I finally felt I could take it on, since the move tired me out a lot mentally. So that's what I've done for the past week - collecting things I don't want and giving them away or selling them online.

Love from Sweden,
Noah

downloaded a bunch of books on CD and put them on my "thumb drives" to play in the car while I drive.
I have the CD books already in my car to return to the library tomorrow.

kitchen counters cleaned off and wiped (gotta get rid of all the sticky stuff LOL)
I need to try really hard to keep the kitchen counter cleared.
It is my dumping spot when I walk through the kitchen.

Yesterday on the Spring Fling was closets. I had already sorted my clothes to sell/donate when I switched out my seasonal things so I got ambitious and went for that very top shelf that no one can reach but still accumulated stuff. I found an unopened Barbie with a DVD that goes along with her, a photo album my MIL put together of my son when he was 2, a pump for my exercise ball, various sweatshirts and hats, a couple of purses and 2 gift bags full of papers. I went through the gift bags and found bill receipts from 2007 (?) and a ton of greeting cards and notes. I pitched most of the cards, saving a few special ones and the letters from my MIL and FIL. So for the Fling, I recycled/threw out a ton of cards, put sweatshirts in to donate, will sell the Barbie and DVD at the kids consignment shop. I have to check if I still have the ball in the garage or I'll get rid of the pump too. Not bad for 15 minutes work.

I've been going through/organizing my finances this month. I joined a VIP program through Coach.me where they walk you through daily steps on (this month) organizing your finances. The steps are not rocket science, just steps I have not taken on my own in quite some time. It is really helping me get my arms around my finances.

Today is my work-from-home day - I plan to take at least 15 minutes to go through the books and papers on my desk and start putting them away!!

I woke up in the mood to toss stuff also - must be something in the air, lol -- going through my desk and pitching/sorting paperwork. I never did my 2016 year-end paper clear out so I'm working though my binder of invoices/phone bills etc and clearing out the ones I don't need to keep. Being ruthless about getting rid of stuff I've been hanging onto 'just in case'. emoticon

I'm doing the "Spring Fling" with Kathi Lipp on FB. It's 10 days of cleaning certain areas and 'flinging' 20 things out of the house - trash/recycle, donate, sell...just get it out! Today was kitchen. I cleaned out the pantry and got rid of all the expired food to the trash, cups and things we don't use to go to Goodwill, and filled 2 large bags of recycling from boxes/bottles/cans. Over my 20 item goal! Great way to start the month of right!

OOPS - I just posted my progress for today on the April thread.
But let's say I started the month with motivation and some progress.....

I started this afternoon - going thru the whole house
room by room
and picking up every piece of paper, magazine, anything and if it is not a keeper, it goes into the trash.
I've finished 2 rooms so far and I'm on a roll.
I don't get into these moods very often.......but I'll take advantage of it today LOL
