Gee -- tomorrow is the last day of January ..... I feel like I did pretty well starting the new year with lots of purging and donating. How did you all do.
I read on this team that you have all been so busy and I'm sure we have all made a lot of progress.

Cleaned and organized two tall bookshelves, made a "catch all" tote for things to be sorted by family, vacuumed. Still have a lot to do!

Reorganized kitchen cabinets and got rid of expired stuff.

I just started another discussion thread here on the team where we can discuss our Bullet Journal experiences. I thought it would be great if we could build off each other's success!!

Everyone is making such great progress!! The work is finally finished with our kitchen/family room/dining room renovation and we are slowly unpacking - sorting this to keep, to donate, to trash. Yesterday I spent my free time helping my 13 yo unpack some of her boxes and go through her clothes. We purged three boxes for donation, but we still have LOT to go through. Well, one box at a time :)

I too want to get started with the Bullet Journal. I purchased two of them - one for the office and one for personal journalling. Just have to get my calendar pages set-up.

Almost the end of the month and I can say that my house is looking good since I continue to purge "stuff" that I don't need.
I've seen lots of articles on pinterest on ways to purge/consolidate/give stuff the boot.

It really does make me feel better - I'm the kid in the family who has all the "family stuff" in my garage that is from my parents house. Need to work on that.....

So far this month, I have culled, cleaned, and organized my entire wardrobe. What I have left is about 2/3 of what I had all together. I kept only what makes me feel good when I wear it or have worn it in the past, and have a good range of clothes from the size I am now to the size I want to be.
Next up - office.

I've been tackling small projects almost every day this month. Yesterday it was our hall closet. It wasn't terrible, but we managed to donate a great coat my DH hasn't been wearing, to sort and 'connect' a bunch of gloves so they can be used, and threw away some crazy stuff we kept--two sets of PHONE BOOKS. Remember them???

UGG spent all morning at med clinic for a red rash I have - found out it is called Pityriasis Rosea. Doesn't hurt or itch - just weird red spots all over my torso.
Just have to tough it out and it goes away on its own.... in 4 - 12 weeks !!! Yikes....
Thank goodness it is not a serious problem and will go away.
I thought it might have been shingles....so I'm relieved.
-----------------
We have another rainy cold day here - strong winds................a good excuse to stay home and read a good book.

UPDATE - it does itch..... itches like crazy !!!! OH NO

I purged about 70% of my christmas stuff. Then organized the rest into my large steamer trunk. The only thing that did not fit was my round wreath box. That found a new home under my bed.It was a pretty enotional ordeal but I never use that other stuff and I don't need "15" of same ornament that my son made in kindergarten. I might just be growing out of my hoarding stage.

Keeping pretty organized and keeping things put away. Wahoo!!!!

We are expecting several days of rain starting tonight - since we usually don't get much rain....this is expected to cause a lot of flooding.
Too bad I have to go out and drive in it tomorrow afternoon (Dr. appt)
But I'l leave early and drive slowly.

with all the snow we had our garage has had small rivers in it from all the melt. it is finally clean and dry, but the sand/salt that was mixed with it is of course on the bottom of our shoes and boots. so this weeken my goal will be to move the shoe rack and get all the debris swept up and then mop the floor. it is not hard it is just annoying because i have to move the rack, the chairs, long rug and stuff just to get it all and it feel dirthy for a while.

Good morning! I've been journaling for a long time, but am just checking into the idea of bullet journaling. It's more organized! Right now I am just adding a list to most of my daily entries which really helps with focus.

I also love to use color and drawing and even pasting things into a journal to motivate me.

Happy Monday - exercise classes started again this week, so I went to Yoga. It feels great to have the classes back in action after the holidays.
I also made a short to do list for a couple things that I have let slide too long.

We are having lots of rain again (after a multi year drought here in Southern CA), so some things are flooding. I see several roofing company trucks in my neighborhood.... hope I don't need them (I had a whole new roof replacement a few years ago).

I cleaned up the kitchen today. I swept the floor, but next Monday I will mop it. Mostly just counters, sink, stove, fridge, microwave, decluttered. I'll also wipe the cabinets down next week. Monday is my kitchen day on my new schedule.

I also tidied up the family and living rooms and vacuumed the upstairs. Making progress!

What is bullet journaling?

This week's cleaning/organizing will be the kitchen and the spare bedroom. I need to organize and purge (old clothes, movies not watched, papers to be sorted) and in the kitchen old pots and pans to store or toss.

Whew!

Today, with the help of a neighbour, I greased the two attic whirlybirds that were squeeking in the wind and cold. Then I packed away a box of Christmas stuff, took down the wreaths and replaced the garden flag with something less Christmassy more "winterery". then I packed a box of the ex's stuff. Overall and very productive couple hours before indulging in some fun ;)

Boy, it's been a week of decluttering. Worked with my DH to organize his closet. We got rid of 12-15 bags of stuff--took it to the Salvation Army. He's smiling in clothes he likes again. I moved along to move and toss old holiday stuff again. The collection is smaller than it used to be, but still pretty and fun.

So all is well.

Just finished up cleaning the main bathroom.

I also set up a weekly chore chart for myself to get back on track. I wrote it out and worked out the bugs, then today I put it all on the computer and made a chart by day of the week and by room, laundry to be done, and misc. like errands, trash day...I even printed it all out in color to make it nice to look at. Hey, anything to make it more pleasant! emoticon

I made some specific goals for this year in regards to my homemaking and I'm really focused to turn things around now that my depression has lifted. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength! emoticon emoticon

My January goal is to sort out my craft room - just 10 or 15 min a day and it will be looking like it should. Usually when I make one of these 'bit at a time' goals I end up just doing the whole thing in an afternoon. But for now I'm just committing to getting started! emoticon

Spent the weekend painting the dining room and living room - ceilings and walls. We moved in to our new home in September and we are just now getting the kitchen/first floor renovation completed. Little by little we are unpacking boxes. The painting should be finished today and we should be able to move the furniture back in the house!! Little by little!

I spent some time on Pinterest and there are so many hints or organizing lists on how to clean you home and organize things. I found it really motivational.
I searched under the words "cleaning" and "organizing"
I think I will print out a couple of checklists for inspiration.

Entire bedroom furniture pulled out from walls , vacuumed baseboards and sprayed for insects. Everything put back.

yesterday afternoon I went through 7 cabinets in the kitchen, mainly organizing, but did get rid of a big box of dishes I no longer use, and a big trash bag of "rubber maid" type items.

today the pantry gets it.
