This is my second day being able to work on the 15 min a day dealing with clutter. It is not that laundry is in the category of de-clutter but when you are very disorganized and you are like that for a while, after while, it gets in the way of cleaning. So today I unsorted and sorted clean laundry and refolded and put away correctly everybody's clothes. I seem to be the only one who knows where everybody's clothes belong. They know where their clothes belong but not other people's clothes. What's good today is that when I woke up for work I actually felt that feeling like at Christmas time when you get a present. I felt a tingle and remembered I've got something done and it feels good.

Today I'm getting ready for my vacation. I've died my hair, got a mani/pedi and am washing a load of clothes. I stopped the mail and paid bills I don't have on auto pay. I need to finish packing.

Still very very HOT here and lots of fires still burning - it is so sad to see how hard those firefighters are working in this heat - fighting a fire and wearing all that equipment. I am so thankful for them all. 3 of them lost their own homes while they were at working fighting the fires.

Didn't do much around the house and I'm currently copying books on CD (that I borrowed from the library) onto my computer and will put them on USB sticks to listen to in the car.

Hope it is cooler tomorrow.

I started using the 365 day challenge to keeping an organized home. I started in the kitchen and even though it is not the day for that it is what was needed the most. I feel good. And that 15 min. is a trick. I did more than an hour and not trying either way. I am going to try and watch out for that so I won't over do it. I feel so happy about the cabinets! I threw a white garbage bag out. I only found one can of beets that was good enough to give away.

I was gone most of the day so I loaded the dishwasher before I left. Then we paid a large bill in another town that we owed. After that it was to the movies!

Friday and it is over 100 degrees here today and I don't have AC !!!!
Even with a fan - I'm dripping wet - yuck.......

This evening I prepared dinner with enough to last for a few days.
Loaded and ran the dishwasher and tried to stay cool.
Tomorrow I'm planning to spend the day at the local library - it is a "cool zone" and we are encouraged to go sit in the air-conditioning.
I'm looking forward to it.

Currently almost 11:30PM and it is 85 degrees in my house!!! Yikes

I like to stay on top of my mail or it mounds up quickly!

Today I made lasagna, pecan pie and salad for dinner.
Changed sheets on the bed
Went grocery shopping
Took a quilt to the machine quilter
Took Goodwill bag to charity
Got rid of 9 blouses
Put away new clothes

One in one out!

I've managed to keep the kitchen and bathrooms cleaned and wiped off.
I need to go though a stack of papers that have arrived in the mail - I will throw 99% of it out.
It is getting really hot here in the next few days and with no AC, I will be spending time at the library - reading, working on my laptop, knitting etc.
Thank goodness it is close to home and labeled a "cool zone" during these heatwaves.

Oh and I did go to yoga class this afternoon - felt great to get a good stretch in

Tortoise I hope you got your big job done safely.

Today I went to my social committee meeting. Then stopped by to get a few groceries and some money to pay the lady to clean my bath. Love that girl!

I've had a long week so I think today is a relax day!

Happy July everyone. As usual my travels keep me away from doing things at home.

My granddaughter is leaving today after a week here with us. We have been to Arizona, New Mexico and Texas twice in the last month.

I have done very little except for a week between trips when we spent three days edging the house (we live on a corner lot) and sidewalks. With 4 houses we had not had the time to do it in a long time. We get a lot of dirt in our gutters because of rais runoff so we did a lot of shoveling too. It looks so much better but we were exhausted after.

While granddaughter was here I had her help with moving items from the little house to the big house where I keep my seasonal baskets and where my sewing room is.

I purchased some new clothes ( not an easy task) and got rod of some (one in and one out)

I sent thank you cards to the families I visited in Arizona and Texas.

Considering my schedule I did well. Hope that with company gone I can accomplish something between mow and my vacation to Colorado in 2 weeks!

what I have cleaned/organized so far in July

I cleaned the front porch, doesn't sound like much but a lot of junk had accumulated there.
I organized our clothing drawers
I cleaned under my computer desk

I would like to clean out cabinets in the dining room.
I would also like to at least to try to organize the junk room a little bit

My cleaning ladies are coming today to do all the deep cleaning. I have the house all picked up - so that I can find things when they leave.
Just getting the house set up for them - really gets me organized.

I finished 3 loads of laundry, called our old vet to get a second opinion on a proposed surgery for our dog (we moved away from the area and had to find a new vet in our current town - she has a lump on her back foot that needs looked at), I added a line to my Verizon account and ordered a phone for my oldest son (he's 12 and beginning to stay home on his own taking care of his bro and sis - good time for a phone for him). Tomorrow will include going to pick up the phone and some cleaning up around the house. Dinner for tomorrow is already defrosted and ready for the crock pot in the morning.

spent the AM on the phone taking care of bills etc.
Costco now uses only Visa cards - so had to take care of that and a few other things.
Now need to pay some bills. - not my favorite thing.

Have to laugh at myself, got a couple of new small pieces of furniture (bookshelf and desk) to replace existing stuff. got everything moved around and set up. but I keep trying to figure out where I can USE old stuff. I probably will put the old bookshelf in my walk-in closet because there isn't enough shelf space in there. and the desk is a small modern metal one that could easily be used as a small table. but do I really "need" it??!!

We put our house up for sale last week. This means we hauled a bunch of stuff out in a storage pod, threw away a lot, and cleaned and organized the rest. At first it was hard living this way, but now....it is so nice to just invite people over knowing that the house looks great. Or not having stress of some pile that I have to go through.....sometime....Lessons learned - everything needs a place to be put away, everything needs to be put away every day, everyone needs to pitch in to get the organizing competed!! Now, to sell the house!!

Been doing well with the daily stuff:
Bed made every day
kitchen and bathroom counters cleared and wiped off

Dishwasher has run and all the stuff put away,
I need to focus on a bigger organizing project (I have several), but need
to get ready for a quilt retreat this weekend - pick out projects, gather fabric, tools, etc.
Guess I need to make a list!!

PS my new lawns are doing great - but did have to chase to rabbits off the front lawn last night

I take all of my old magazines to the local library. They love getting them.

I got my oven cleaned yesterday as a friend and I made plum tarts the other day and one had run over and made a mess in the bottom of the oven. Today is laundry and making two appetizers to take to a friends house later this evening. Several neighbors will paddle down the lake to the hosts house. Should be a lovely evening.

We put our house on the market this past Monday so I have been busy getting all of the clutter out of site. I finally threw away my four years worth of magazines that were piling up. I took them straight to the recycling center so that I could not change my mind about them. I must say, it has taken a load off of my mind not to have those magazines bearing down on me every day. I also went through a card table full of piles of papers - I threw away all of the recipes that were never entered into my computer and organized the papers I needed to file. I was able to narrow down the papers to just one box which is now in the bottom of my closet - not the best solution, but it will work for now. This weekend will be to tackle the garage!!

With the craziness of June behind us, I'm hoping that July will be more relaxed so I can get some home projects done.

Today starts with laundry - my oldest son just got home from a youth group retreat yesterday so his laundry is already going this morning.
