Two loads of laundry, tossed some clothes, in a give a way bag for goodwill...... Just wondering, when you clean out your clost and or drawers, do u go through one drawer at a time, or put out all tops, blouses, at a time then do jeans, slacks and on like that? Just curious to which way would be best, Thanks

Found a glitch in my quilt so I need to fix it before I can give it to my brother.

I set up auto delivery on my RX. Nice. Comes every three months and now I don't pay so I end up with an extra $20 a month.

I found the missing W2 so I will take to HR Block and pay property taxes today. $$$$$$ Yikes

Congrats on the loss and keeping it off - I admire you and wish I could get really motivated again. You are correct the public reporting is something that can motivate.
Hope you post a pic of your finished quilt.

Travelbug I don't care for the WW point system. I still do SP tracking here. The reason I go is solely for weigh in. They don't even motivate me there but I need somehow to see that scale in public. Tonight I lost 1.4. That makes almost 16 pounds. It is slow going. That has taken me four months but it is staying off. One day at a time.

I got my label and put it on the quilt for my brother. Went to get taxes and NOW they tell me I am missing a W2! I hope I have it.

Thanks Diana and I'll be sending positive thoughts to your WW meeting tonight.
I'm a lifetime member - but about 20# over goal and haven't been to a meeting in several years.
Just not motivated by their plan at this point.......but I hope you are successful.
I just got in from pulling weeds in 1/2 my back yard and I'll do the other 1/2 tomorrow - also need to trim a couple shrubs.
But my yard is still totally brown from this drought.
Bed is made, overflowed toilet is fix and mopped up, all the towels I used are washed and dried and put away.
Now I'm off to lunch with my weekly lunch bunch friends !!

PS forgot to mention that the kink in my neck is almost gone - just a little soreness.

Travelbug I hope your kink goes away. That can put a big snafew in the day.

A day of rest can be beneficial.

Today I plan to go get my embroidered label in town and pick up the car that is being repaired. I will go to WW tonight and hope to lose! It's been a weird week!

Didn't do much today. I woke up with a horrible kink in my neck (guess I slept on my pillow wrong) - so because of the pain, I haven't done much.
Went to Prayers & Squares at church (quilting group), and to my knitting group at the Sr. Center - then home to take it easy.
I had planned on pulling weeds and doing some yard work - but didn't feel like it.
Oh well, tomorrow is another day....

I'm so glad I am posting again. It always makes me want to do more when I see what everyone is doing!

Today my knee is so much better. I will pack my Easter up and mail my Medicare payment. Then I think I'll sew a bit. Our quilt show is in May and I need another quilt to show. I'm doing Sherman's March and it is turning out well.

OK - I finally did something....
In addition to clearing off and wiping the kitchen counters.
I went into the garage and cleared and organized 1 shelf that runs almost the length of the garage. I threw a bunch of stuff out - put some in a bag to donate and sorted thru stuff that needs to go into the different trash and recycling bins.
It is a much needed step in the right direction. (There are 3 more shelves along this wall,
but at least I started.)

It is a warm sunny day here in Southern Calif. But, I was inside all day finishing a quilt top for my Prayers & Squares group.
All need is to add the 4" borders and then the top will be done.
I'll turn it in on Tuesday at my meeting.
I'm stiff from sitting at the sewing machine all day - but it feels good to have it done.
It is one of those tasks that has been sitting on my mind for 2 weeks.
Tomorrow I think I will do a little more yard work.
The small bits of rain we have had - have sure fed the weeds ....
So they need to be removed.

I have seen a doctor. He said to take Advil and ice it and let it heal. He said I have bone on bone knee caps. He said if it didn't get better in the next month to go in for a shot. I reinjured it after seeing him.

We live in a small town hours from the doctor. I have been trying to walk but the last week any walking caused burning pain. However, staying off of my feet has helped. I now see improvement. I was on it yesterday quite a bit and today I can barely get around. If it doesn't get better in the next few days I'll go back for the shot. He never mentioned therapy. He did say after it healed I should swim or ride a bike to strengthen it

Thanks for asking.

Diana, have you seen a Doctor for your knee and if so did they tell you to stay off your feet? I have been told to walk as that is good for knees and I also went to Therapy and did Knee exercises, to strengthen my knee cap, I do still have some problems with it, but, I just have to learn to live with some things

I went through four boxes tonight of photos and discovered I have duplicates. When my husband isn't looking I will throw them out unless I know of another family member who would want them.

I've decided to make a book on the Olympics trip we took and my trip to Egypt, Greece, Italy etc. with my parents. They live in New Orleans and I have a ton of Mardi Gras pictures. I think I'll choose some fun ones and make a book and get rid of the rest.

I'm slowly going through a large closet in a guest room that has been used as a storage spot. Trying to cull and if needing to keep, deciding where else to store it. My hope is that there won't be much left. I found one box with a couple of family photos, but the rest was high school notebooks and a large number of the senior yearbook mock up pages. Why did I keep that? emoticon

Hello everyone.

I've been MIA. DH won't let me do anything for weeks. I injured my knee so I'm on chair duty. Can't even walk well yet. I did a couple of things in the chair I ordered on Amazon, LOL and paid bills online. But mostly I read, emailed and researched for miniatures. I want to make a dollhouse replica of my 100 + year old home. Won't happen anytime soon but I did a lot of planning.

Today I have decided to pull out my boxes of photos and see about organizing some for a few of those Shutterfly books I keep meaning to make.

Any suggestions of stay in the chair activities? Seriously when I get up and walk around for even a few minutes I'm in pain and have to ice my leg.

Monday - I've been dog sitting since Friday AM. Staying at my brother's house and his 2 dogs are lots of fun

So, the good side is that I have not been home and it is just as clean as when the cleaning lady was here on Friday.
It will be good to be home in my own bed tonight.

Cleaning ladies did a fab job yesterday - house looks great.
I'm staying at my brother's house this weekend - dog sitting, so not even making a mess at home.
I do need to do a load of laundry when I get home.

Now picking up the house, because the cleaning lady comes tomorrow AM.

They live close, so I'll be back and forth - going to be a busy weekend.

So far today I have 3 loads of laundry done, the dishwasher ran (will unload it when kids get home to help), and I brought in some bins of clothes to sort through and switch out (spring-summer things for me, larger sizes of hand-me-downs for my youngest son). My plan is to take the clothes to the consignment shop tomorrow and see if I can sell some.

travel you have to change your update options because Windows is now saying the upgrade to Windows 10 is a "necessary automatic update". I have Windows 10 on my laptop and haven't had any problems, but the laptop had Windows 8 already so windows 10 was a big improvement. But I do NOT want to upgrade my work computers, since some of my programs do not work with Windows 10 yet

Today I cleaned the whole house and it feels great !!!
Changed bed linens, cleared and wiped all counters (kitchen and bathrooms) put all the "junk" away where it belongs instead of just leaving it around where I last used it.
.....
Had an interesting computer experience last night and this AM. My computer automatically upgraded to Windows 10 !!! I had to manually back it out to Windows 7.
Are any of you using Windows 10 and if so, what do you think of it?

Was in a car accident the 6th. Totaled that car so had to completely clean my stuff out of it and say good bye. (had that car for 12 years). I have a whiplash injury and wear a collar so it's hard to look down. I am slowly cleaning off surfaces (dining room table, counters, etc.)

I enjoy everyone's cleaning tips and suggestions, cleaning keeps my mind and body occupied, it's good rehab so far.

Clever, Travel, and great it worked so well.

Doing a shoe assessment in view of spring coming. Ended up ordering a new pair of walking shoes and tossing an old pair that had lost their 'umph.' Always hard to know when a walking shoe is really dead. They look okay long after they give me enough support.

Had to create BBQ cover because we are having rain and strong winds (thanks to El Nino)
So I went to the $ store bought a shower curtain and a bag of document clips and
now I have a nice tight fitting BBQ cover. (all for $2)
The stores were all sold ou - of real BBQ covers -t of the size I needed (small) and so I had to get creative.
A storm blew thru a couple hours ago and it works great!!!

Tax return done thanks to my accountant. Started to change over my winter/fall closet to spring/summer. Bigger job than I expected but will take several bags to Salvation Army today, a load to the dry cleaners, and then take another pass. I wasn't as ruthless as I think I need to be.

Bummer
Fortunately the Credit Union is only a couple blocks from my house and I can go in and get it right away - but that is tomorrow.
Finally mailed a card to my niece for her birthday - it was mid Feb, but I was on a trip.
Made my bed
unloaded the dishwasher
wiped the kitchen counters and bathroom counters.
making a little progress

Wahoo - just being home and getting back to my regular eating, I've already dropped the 3# that were showing as a gain from my trip.
Could have been the 20+ hours of travel getting home. I'm sure sitting on the plane and being sleep deprived didn't help.
I'm gathering my papers and going to start my taxes tonight.
They are very simple and I know I'll have it done quickly (fingers crossed.)

Last week, 15 minutes at a time, I managed to clean out the back stairwell where I store the grandchildrens toys on a bookcase. I still have other things to go through toy-wise, and more items to move away from that area - but I created a lot of space that will allow me to store all the toys on one bookshelf. I donated 4 bags of books, puzzles, and toys to the Children's Services, for their families in need. I donated another box to a local family, and I tossed probably two bags of usable, but not very nice, toy items. The youngest (and likely last) child is 1, so many of the items were baby-infant related.

Hi All - Knuckles , thanks for creating the new thread. I just put a 'sticky' on it so it will be on the top of the list of threads for March.
I got back last night from an 18 day trip to India and Nepal. I am totally exhausted, but the laundry is done and all put away.
I now need to go get some food - I cleared out most things before I left..
I gained 3 lbs on the trip, but for me that is excellent. We were served all our meals and all were large. Then sat on a bus many hours a day and
Now I'm home and back in control.
Wonderful experience going to those places but as I mentioned above I and
beyond exhausted and I've been awake since 4:00AM

So far this month I have purged my girls clothes & a few of mine as well as several bins of toys. We are moving at the end of the month so trying to purge as much as possible so I do not need to move them.

Maybe it is time to store the photos and go with a cleat piano top. I personally give myself permission to keep all photos. They are easily stored. You can at least take them off and audition the bare look.

I took a box with my unused canvases upstairs and cleaned in a bookcase that was a disaster. Donated what I won't use and put the others away. Will have my new office/studio soon!

I have a mix of pictures on our piano that need to be changed, put on the wall or SOMETHING. Anyone have a fix? I'm tired of the clutter!!!

Still working on my old junk room and office to be. Sorted out markers, colored pencils etc. into labeled boxes and put away. Set aside things to donate. Threw away some things and put other things away. Seeing some progress!

Washed the floors, properluy cleaned the bathrooms, dusted fiddly bits and washed one sofa. Put away some stuff. More stuff to go, and one more sofa to wash when this one is dry.

Organization seems to be never ending. Fortunately, over a period of time we do make progress!

I am working on the back stairwell area. I have commited to just 15 min. a day, which I think will work for me. We don't use the back stairs, but we do store junk there. Mostly we have a few Christmas decorations, a large crock, two or three pairs of my boots for gardening, and a lot of toys for the kids. Those come out when they need a change from what is in our family room, but the kids also know the dress up clothes are there and all the "parade" goodies (drums, horns, hats, etc). There's luggage there that my husband never put away, too. The place is a mess. I'm going to move much of it upstairs and get rid of the things they don't play with often.

Me! Tired of winter.

Working on clearing my "junk" room. Want to do some redecorating in there and some renovations this spring. Have been working an hour a day in there.
