My partner and I have decided it is time to clean out the entire house...Spring cleaning on steroids! I will try to update our progress!

Files having babies is HILARIOUS!! I have piles in my office that replicate too. Must be a very fertile place. ha ha!

I've started a project of "redesigning" rooms. It often means just clearing some clutter or re positioning things a bit. I remember my Mom used to move the furniture. I don't do much of that, but I just ordered two needed lamps for our family room that only had overhead lighting. They will help make it a reading space as well as a tv space.

what is it about the fridge, freezer and pantry that can get so disorganized so rapidly??

I am trying to keep my head above water with work. I swear the files are having babies at night while I am sleeping.

Today will be putting washing away, hanging a lot of clothes up, dishes, watering the garden and the normal daily jobs on my weekly schedule. Plus I also intend to do my menu planning for the week ahead and work out my grocery shopping list for tomorrow.

After all this is done I will finish some more on my quilted table runner I am making.

I'm all packed and leaving for India and Nepal tomorrow. My goal while gone is to keep my
suitcase organized and to throw stuff away when used up - also try not to grab
every map and brochure that I see.
Feels good to be packed - I move my suitcase to my friend's car today.
Whew!!!

I'm looking forward to our family room remodel to be finish so we can get everything out of the garage (couch, bookcases, tv...). It will be nice to get the garage all cleaned out and organized.

Yesterday we put our living and dining rooms back together after installing hardwood floors. Rugs came out, furniture got arranged - looks so nice! Now it's time to really clean out the entertainment center (video games, board games, dvd's) and desk area. The kids go back to school tomorrow so I'll finally have the house to myself to get some things done around here.

Hubby and I finished installing the hardwood flooring throughout our main level (living room, dining room, hallway) yesterday so today was clean up and help to put in the trim on the baseboards. Once the kids are back in school on Tuesday, it's major clean up and organize for me. It's nice to have a fresh start.

Spent all day yesterday getting things organized for my vacation. I still have a list of a few more things to do - but I'll be ready.
Went to Quilting today at church and got a top done for a Valentine wall-hanging.

This Friday and into the weekend we are going to organize and move some things around. Finally got a cabinet for the utility room so that will be organized. Going to move the display case and finally fill it up. Got it for my grandma over 5 years ago and shes never filled it. And finally, go through books books and more books.

I donated a ton of children's books that I no longer use to a school since I am retired from teaching. The school actually sent me an edible arrangements bouquet! What a nice surprise. I am also working slowly on cleaning my office/tutoring room. What a job! I am getting discouraged because there appears to be no end in sight. Cleaning and organizing does not come easy for me.

so I started cleaning out the pantry, which expanded into the halls closet, which expanded into all the cleaning supplies which expanded into the cabinet that has all of the household meds, which expanded into.....not getting any of the work I needed to done

the good thing though is all of those areas are DONE. Usually I get halfway through and lose energy.

Today I plan to do the NE corner of the back hall.
This sounds gimmicky but it is working for me.

I sewed 6 place-mats to donate to Meals on Wheels - but now my sewing room is a mess.
My goal is to get all the stuff put away before I go to bed......better get busy.
Now...
Saturday noonish - I made 2 more place-mats and cleaned up the sewing room.
Bed is made and I'm off to pick up the kitchen counters again...

I've been doing a good job of cleaning and organizing lately. I am proud of going through my books and donating four bags of books to the local library. I found a cool blog that I am going to start using as a basis for my cleaning projects. My next area to clean is the pantry.

Beth - uugh ants in the house - I found out that you have to put down stuff that they take back to the nest rather than just spray and kill off the ones you see. Nippon is what we use - a little tube of liquid that you have to put down a few drops each evening. It works.

I'm still not well but getting better gradually. February I want to get some things done (or at least started) that have been waiting for years. Will report back later.

Funny how one day of "not paying attention" can allow things to get cluttered again.
The infamous pile of junk is back all over the kitchen counters !!!
Today I'm doing laundry and of course getting the counters cleaned off again.....

Glad you are safe, Travelbug, and that you took care with your trees in advance and it didn't succumb in the storms.

I had a dinner party yesterday in honor of my DH's birthday. I did the dishes afterwards (his 'job,' but not on his birthday!!)

yard clean up this AM. We had a pretty large El Nino Storm all afternoon and through the night last night with sustained winds of 30 - 40 mph. Lots of stuff blown around in my yard and everything filled with rain water.
Today is sunny - but cool and so I'll wait for the wet stuff to dry up.
The city had many trees down and some fell on cars and houses and did lots of damage.
I'm am so happy that I had the large tree in my front yard pruned and laced and it is not totally bare - but standing.
We rarely if ever have weather like this - so we were all glued to the television news emoticon

Hi All -
A new month a fresh start.
How id you do in January?
I did pretty well and kept most things pretty organized and tidy.
I am feeling motivated to purge more things out of my house and garage.
Hope the motivation stays with me this month. I have a big vacation/tour planned this month to India and Nepal and really need to be organized when traveling and living out of a suitcase.
