Got my exercise in - a nice long walk and a little extra.....wahoo!!!
Final load of laundry is in the dryer now and all the rest is already put away.
Need to make some decisions about all the stuff I moved to my garage for the carpet cleaning....do I really want to move some of this "stuff" back into the house????

The carpet cleaning turned out great. Looks really nice and clean.....now to keep it that way.
I washed all my throw rugs and bought a new one for just inside the back door.
I have the just washed items drying out in the yard and they are almost dry.
I have almost all my things put back in the house and decided that some of the stuff is going to the Goodwill or Salvation Army
------------------
Now I have problems with the ice maker in my freezer. Don't know if it is broken or what.
It was blocked up with a large chunk of ice cubes and I got that out......now the water
is not filling up the tray to make more. Bummer.
In this heat I really need ice.

Whew - really really hot here again. I'm getting my carpets cleaned tomorrow and I think they will dry quickly !!
But, it sure is a lot of work getting ready. I'm moving a lot of stuff to my family room - it is all tile, and tomorrow will move a lot of stuff to the garage.
I dread putting all the stuff back into place......maybe I can purge some of it.

Still super hot and humid here..... yuck
But, I got all the trash collected and out to the curb in the 3 bins that are now required.....can't believe how much time it takes to sort trash.
My bed is made, laundry is sorted to wash later,

The house next door is getting a new roof and the noise is awful - started at 7:00AM,
so I'm going to try to spend time away from home today.

I'm in the process of going thru the house - room by room and purging all the clutter that is laying around.
I always feel better when that is done (plus the house looks better.)

We got the same large bags of strips donated to our Prayers & Squares group - beautiful batiks and Xmas fabrics we have made some lovely quilt tops with them.
Still hotter than Hades here. I don't have AC and I dog sat for 4 days at my brothers house for their 2 dogs - no AC there either.
Tried to use fans as much as possible - but still HORRIBLE.
I'm headed to the library with my knitting bag and my Kindle and I'll sit in their AC. It is a cool zone announced by the city.

We hare having an extreme heatwave here and of course no AC and 2 dogs to try to keep cool.

We have an eBay store, and the items tend to get distributed throughout the house as we measure, write up, weigh, etc. I have been organizing our eBay room so that we can keep the items together and organized. It will make less clutter in the rest of the house. It's a huge job because we have literally thousands of items to deal with, but it is getting done. We also tutor in our home, so I have been organizing our tutoring room. It has been a very busy August but it feels great to be getting it under control.

Finally went to the grocery store - I had been needing a couple of things for several days and was just too lazy to go to the market.
But now I have a healthy pantry and all the ingredients to make a low-cal, low-fat chili that I make in my crock-pot. It will last me several days......so easy "multi-meal" .

Hi there. Cold and windy here so perfect for cleaning out the house. And a little hint of spring, so let's call it a spring clean. Cleaned around all the dors a windows and skirtings, cleaned the windows and mirrors, washed the sofa covers and cushions, and what a difference that makes. All I need to do is the bathrooms from top to toe, that is whatbI will do this week, then it is decluttering. DH painted the dining room and I,m liking the fresh pared down look so am being considered abut what I put back in there.
Travelbug I hear you about the garage. I feel that way about my spare room, and have decided it is because I hate being in there. So my plan is to take a drawer to my kitchen table and sort through it there, and put it back. That way I can limit my exposure and get on and tackle the job. As I progress, maybe I won't mind being in there so much? And in the meantime just a little bit at a time and then put it away again. Little by little, it will get done!

If hunger isn't the problem, food won't fix it.

My daughter and I were cleaning out the laundry room this week, and I had her with me, as there were all kinds of folded clothes, that she never took down to her room. As we went though stuff, and I was adamant about giving everything that wasn't perfect to the local thrift store.

We happened upon the baby quilt I had made her. It was so emotional for me, but it obviously meant nothing to her. It was in her crib, and I remember pulling it over her MANY times. Because it had no effect on her, I realized that I was holding onto something for no good reason, other than that it evoked some wonderful memories for me. Those memories are still in my head, and hopefully will never leave. I don't need a crib quilt to remember. I'm giving it to the thrift store too, as someone else can obviously use it and that would make me happy. Let it warm another beautiful little girl.

Reorganized and revamped my daughter's room. Went from preschooler to little girl. Converted her crib/toddler bed into a desk. Also sorted through the to keep and not to keep toys and blankets.

Hello everyone -
Here we are in August - a new month a fresh start.
It is really hot and muggy here and of course we are in a drought.
There are 19 forest fires currently burning in California - I sure hope they get them put out soon. Very scary......I had to evacuate 2 times before and sure hope it doesn't happen again.

I'm hoping to maintain the organizing and cleaning I did in July and still talk about clearing out my garage.....are you all sick of hearing me say I'm going to clean out my garage?
I need a kick in the pants.
