I took a small bag on my trip last week, and did laundry once. I an't carry all the weight in baggage any longer, and I still had more than I needed. The clothes came home clean! Only wore a couple of things after the laundry load.

And, next time I buy books, I'm going to have them shipped, even though they fit in the suitcase.

I hope repacking an overpacked suitcase counts, but I am doing it and taking a smaller bag for a ten day trip.

I too went through clothes this weekend and donated a bunch of them. About 5 big black trashbags full. Went through the guest room closet, my hanging clothes in my closet, all of my sweaters on my closet shelf, and my wardrobe. I still need to finish going through sweatshirts and my dress with pajamas. Feels so good to know what clothes I currently have.

I can't say that I completely organized anything but I did get SOMETHING done. I had a list of things to do and barely completed one item on the list. What I managed to accomplish was to go through ALL my clothes, try them on (yep, all of them) and came up with 10 bags of clothes to donate. I also went through my storage locker (only HALF) and threw out or recycled a lot of stuff. I still have quite a bit to go through. So, currently my living room is only HALF the disaster that it was on Saturday.

Good job Knuckles - I think the newer washer are more energy efficient and less noisy.
When will it be delivered and installed?
I keep thinking that mine is reaching that point....but with just one person, there are not that many things to wash.
Congrats.
--------------
Today I went thru my closet and looked at every piece of clothing. I purged a ton of stuff that no longer fits or is getting shabby and old. I got rid of lots of clothes, shoes, jackets etc.
I packed it up and took it to the Goodwill drop off, then took 4 pr of old tennies/walking shoes to Road Runner Sports, they recycle shoes.
So, I am feeling pretty good about what I accomplished and I really like the look inside my closet now WAHOO!!!!!!

- bought my produce for the week
- did lots of yard work this afternoon. I trimmed all the shrubs around the whole yard and filled both of my greenery bins for trash collection
- now doing 2 loads of laundry

I have been cleaning out the basement, in anticipation of tiling and carpeting the floor down there. It's been torn up since we had some sewage backup three years ago. There are just boxes and piles of stuff that has accumulated over the past ten years -- it's always a surprise to open a box and see what it contains. Like old baby clothes, plastic containers filled with beans, a bag of pretzels, seashells -- not sure what I was thinking when I packed it in the first place. Even found some unused ballet tickets -- ten years old! Yesterday I had eight big boxes on the front porch by 7:00 a.m., for a scheduled charity pickup. They were still on the front porch when I got home last night -- and it was storming, so I had to drag them all back inside. Now they're sitting in my entryway. Feels more cluttered than before -- but I know I'm headed in the right direction.

The suitcase-on -the-floor-after-the-trip problem. A biggie for me. Sometimes it takes me weeks to unpack. And I don't always finish the job. After a trip to France three years ago, I finally got the suitcase unpacked, but I still have some of my treasures -- souvenirs, a bag of lavender, postcards, just tossed in a big basket in my bedroom. ARRRGH.

Got the sewing mess cleaned up and ran a couple of errands today that have been hanging over my head.
- got some money moved from 1 bank to my credit union
- finished sewing 4 place mats for Meals on Wheels
- cleaned up the kitchen
- cleaned up the sewing room when I finished sewing
- finished reading a draft of a book that my friend wrote - she is going to ePublish, and I wrote some notes for her
- picked up the yard a bit - it still needs more work.

Instead of picking up the house - I ended up making a mess.
I spent most of the day picking out some decorative quilting I did on some placemats.
I should have just tossed them and started over....
I'll remember that next time....

Anyway - I have my work cut out for me tomorrow - need to clean up this mess.
At last it is all in the sewing room.

Made my bed - I do that everyday
Loaded the dishwasher and wiped down all the kitchen counters.

I am trying to take care of a bogus bill that I rec'd from ATT Uverse and went to their local storefront office this afternoon.
Of course they refuse to budge - but the lady I worked with agreed it was a very bad decision on their part, but she can't change anything.
I'm glad I dropped this company last month - I've had loads of problems with their billing and service dept for the past 2+ years. Very very sloppy business practices.

Update: 10:30PM - laundry is all done and put away.
Need to start the dishwasher - but may wait until tomorrow and fill it a little more.
We are having a terrible drought and so I try to only run it once a week.
