Good Sunday morning, organizers.

I planted containers of herbs and flowers yesterday. Such a pleasant task on a pretty day.

Hi everyone,

Spent most of todat at a Service Unit Rally for Girl Scouts. This evening I plan to go through too much paperwork that has piled up and purge in order to get set up for wrapping up the scouting year, preparing for next year, and getting both my personal and other work priorities in order.

Please send prayers for focus!

Saturday....
going to a baby shower today. ( I made a quilt) - all gifts are wrapped ....including a little something for the big brother (4 yrs. old)
I changed bed linens, emptied dishwasher, picked up papers..... feel like I have a handle on things today.
UPDATE !!
I watched a you tube video about how to re-screen a window, went to Lowes and bought the stuff and DID IT!!!
Wahoo - easy peasy and I used my rotary cutter from quilting to cut the final edges off the screen after I put the spline into hold it in place !!!
The joke in my family is that I'm working on my "MAN CARD" - got some major points today and it was less than $10 for the stuff - with plenty of material left over.

Travel, I'm so glad they did not get in and you are taking even more precautions. It's pretty upsetting to have someone trying to get in your house. I hope you are okay.

I did grocery shopping yesterday and cooked dinner last night. Plan to go to a Farmers' Market this morning for 'opening day. These things keep us organizzed around healthy foods.

cleaning lady came today and my house is sparkling clean!!!
----------------
yesterday afternoon someone tried to break into my house while I was out and they ripped one of my screens and pulled two others off the windows.
Didn't get into the house thank goodness. I have locked gates all around my yard - except one that goes into the neighbors yard in the canyon behind me..... guess that is how they got in.
So that gate now has a lock.!!
I spent several hours today going around trying to find someone to repair the torn screen, it is only about 24" square - and no one would do it.
Not Home Depot, not Lowes, not any of the screen repair places I went to (because I didn't buy the windows from them?????? HUH?????)
So tomorrow, I'll get help from my brother and we can fix it - how frustrating.

Made my bed this AM as soon as I got up - it is now a habit for me.
This evening I will pick up the whole house and prepare for the cleaning lady tomorrow.
---------------
I'm sure that tomorrow at this time - I'll have a house that just sparkles.
I'm purging a lot of fabric that I have been hoarding for years and it feels good to get rid of it.

Unexpected repair to my garage door - so I am considering this getting organized.
The spring broke and I could not get my door open to get my car out.
So the repair guy is here now and it will be almost $500 -
but I will have a perfectly working garage door - I hope LOL

Went thru bins of quilting fabrics that I have been "hoarding" and pulled a bunch of stuff that I am going to donate tomorrow to my guild (placemats for Meals on Wheels will be made from the stuff.)
Feels so good to get rid of some of my fabric hoarding LOL

Also finished a quilt top today for my Prayers and Squares group and I'll turn that in on Tuesday.
----------
Oh and I finally got an area rug for the family room. I ordered it from Penneys catalog and it is the perfect color and size............... took me a few months of find something that would work.

I'm still on a roll here.
Today I returned a couple things to Costco, got 2 things I needed.

Then came home and worked in the yard. I trimmed shrubs and filled 2 large trash
bins for the greenery pick up on Tuesday. Feels good that it is done - and I didn't even
get stung my a bee (they were everywhere !!!)

Now I'm organizing my quilting fabrics and picking some that I can donate.
I will NEVER use all the fabric that I have "hoarded".

Enjoy the rest of the day............

Been feeling frazzled and I know it is because my house is a mess.....so today I am going thru room by room and picking up all the junk, dusting, getting rid of papers and old catalogs etc. I've finished 3 rooms and have about 3 more, including the bathrooms.
But I already feel better.
I have an OLD Beatles CD playing and I'm singing along.
--------------
I'm back to report my progress.
I finished the house clean/purge and it looks and feels really good.
I got my grocery shopping done and everything put away,
returned items to the library
AND
came home and did some yard-work.
We are having a terrible drought and so much of my yard and plants are dead,
so I thru several things into the greenery re-cycle and cut what little front lawn I have left.
I feel like I made great progress today.

Still puttering away on trying to pick up all the papers that end up all over my kitchen counter and other places. Crazy !!!
I picked up an area rug that I ordered yesterday and brought it home ( 5' x 7')
and it doesn't go well at all in my family room . It is such a busy pattern and colors that it takes over the room.
I have 7 days to return it - no questions asked.
So now I'm looking at plain blue area rugs and I think I found one I can order from Penney's -
and it is much cheaper. I just wish I could see it before I buy - but it is only avail in the catalog.
I may go to the biggest Penney's store and see if they have it in a small size, so I can see it.

Cleared out my mudroom cabinets and organized 'smoker' chips and fuel into a neat clear box for the garage where I had open shelves. Also removed my husbands' 'creeping' stuff from my food and supply storage shelves so they could find their 'proper' home. It's okay--he laughed because he knew. My house has become a mess. I still haven't finished putting things away after my new Cable install - don't know why I"m dragging my feet
Yesterday I spent the whole day 12 hours with my Guatemala Team leader - packing merchandise for a sale tomorrow at a church....
Then spent all day today at a Quilting Sit& Sew at my church.
I am so looking forward to tomorrow and finishing the sale, taking the 12 large plastic bins out of my car, getting my car washed and vac'd and generally being able to sit and relax a bit.
Whew!!!

10:30 PM back to report that my laundry is all done and put away !!!
Maybe I'll sleep better with that "off my plate".

I went through a lot of quilt batting and tossed all those small pieces. Then put the rest to be donated. Talked to my daughter later and she will be able to use some of the batting, so will give her what she needs before donating.

Also cleaned my new oven today--after spilling a pan of bacon and it's grease as I was baking it. No fire, but lots of smoke. I waited until it cooled and then cleaned it well. Then turned it on again to be sure it wouldn't smoke anymore. What a way to start the day!

I have a habit of making my bed every AM as soon as I get up - makes the bedroom soon so much more organized.
I'm going to be running errands all day - but tonight I want to move all my stuff back into my comptuer room. I had to clear everything out when the cable installer was here working.
The new service seems to be working well and I'm learning how to use the complicated remotes that they now use. Makes me feel like a dinasour - LOL

I was up early (still can't sleep well after returning from Europe)
I raced to Frys to buy a modem for my computer/internet/TV etc.
and then spent several hours with a tech here installing the new system.
I am dumping ATT Uverse because I have had so many problems with them.
I also took the old equip. to UPS who will ship it back to ATT at no cost to me.
(made sure I got a receipt for that)
Changed linens and even did a bit of grocery shopping.

I'm feeling pretty organized today.

Amvets are coming this Friday. Hoping to do one last push in the house this week to donate more stuff. Not sure I can though since I will be working my butt off this week.

As part of our Passover cleaning, we just cleaned the moldy corners of the wall near the closet. Yikes.

Good idea. I also need to switch out my winter andd spring/summer clothes. And get rid of what I did not wear all winter.

I like the idea of clearing out the fridge. Mine is almost empty - because I've been gone for 2 weeks....need to go shopping. BUT I'm going to make a list and try to only buy things that I should be eating.
Great chance for me to make a "clean" start.

I have joined a challenge team for weight loss for the next 8 weeks. As far as cleaning up, I think the refrigerator needs cleaning out. The freezer has already been done. And doing some planning for a place to go in May for a short trip.

Hi All,
I just returned home late last night from about 2 weeks in France. I was even able to keep my suitcase and things organized. We had an apt. for the last week in Paris and it was large/plenty of room and we were able to keep it clean and organized too.
Cold weather and a little rain there - but I enjoyed and places we visited.
------------
Now at home - I have emptied my suitcase and I'm doing my laundry.
Ran several errands this AM - and feel like I'm getting a good start on April.

How are you all doing? any special goals for April?
