I cleared and cleaned a section of my kitchen counter. I have a few feet of counter space available to work where I previously only had clutter.

I gathered and delivered a bag of bags and a box of boxes to the school gift shop for the students. I gathered and delivered a box of items for the shop itself. I gathered a bag of old clothes and dropped them in the bin near WAWA. I gathered a box of clothes and a typewriter from the 80s and had them picked up by a van that collects for the disabled. I worked at our church's Christmas shop and only brought home two things...a book for a friend and a two-hole punch that we need at work. I am really trying, but I need support and personal woohoos to keep going! emoticon Oh, and I also gave a bag of clothes to my sister that I no longer fit in since I have lost 44 pounds! YES!!!

Picked up boxes of marinated pork chops for my husband's office workers for part of their Christmas gift on the 23rd, and I also ordered Filipino lumpia to add to the meat boxes. Those will need to be picked up closer to the 23rd. The chops are frozen so they will keep.

I'm managing the last of the orders for Christmas online and mailing out the final pkgs to the kids and grands out of town, on Monday.

I have sewing to do and a Christmas concert to attend Sunday afternoon. Busy busy days!

made my bed, cleaned up the kitchen and threw out a whole bunch of papers that have collected again. I keep saving the holiday ads - and I don't know why, I don't have much shopping to do and definitely nothing in the ads !!!
I went to visit a friend in the hospital and also stopped at Costco to buy a GPS device that was on sale (ending today.)
I have never had one and I'll give it a try - they said I could return it - if it doesn't work out for me.

Picked up the house., unloaded dishwasher, bed made, then did yard-work in front. We are finally due to get some rain (a lot of rain) and so I mowed and raked and picked everything up.
I sure do hope that some of the grass comes back - and not all weeds.
I also met with friends and we all booked a trip to France for March - it will be 8 of us and tons of fun. I can hardly wait.

I think my newspaper weighed about 10 lbs this AM with all the holiday ads.....
There is NO WAY I am going out to do any shopping today.......will just visit a friend
in the hospital and then back home.
Crazy.

House is pretty clean - just need to empty the dishwasher and then
get the 10 lb newspaper to the recycle bin......LOL

Showers done, bathrooms done, shopping done, laundry folded and put away, one sofa washed and one to go. Insect bombing done, we will have one more shot at it, then do a clean up from that. Cupboard nearly done, earthquake supplies recycled. Thank goodness it's work tomorrow.

Ewwww. These posts have me thinking of things I've been overlooking! You all are amazing.

I did mundane things. Laundry, kitchen. We had a minor flood, caught it quickly, when my husband turned on an outside spigot and water came pouring out under kitchen sink. All is well and drying. Water is off and time to call a plumber.

My biggest goal is calm this week with the buzz of Thanksgiving to be followed by a quick dash toward Chirstmas.

The drip edge on our shower door got scrubbed on top and underneath with a brush. I haven't done that for awhile, and I don't even want to talk about the crud that came off and out. It was not a pretty sight. Yuck!

today we start the clean up in the living room and dining room. the ceiling fans are FILTHY as are the light fixtures. Won't be able to move alot of the stuff back in yet because they still have one patch of tile to finish and the painter has about half a day of work to do, mainly making sure he didn't miss anything.

but at least we no longer have to go outside to get to the kitchen or to take care of my disabled son.

Fifi, I am very sorry you lost your cat. They leave such scars on our hearts!

Team, thank you for all the actiivty and inspiration. I am putting things in order for my part of the cooking this week, and sketching out a holiday list to hit the stores a bit before the rush after Thanksgiving. I need a map of the "size" of the job this year. We have 6 grandchildren and they are my priority.

I liked SparkCoach's essay on planning his days on our Start pages today. He surely lives what he preaches.

I spent two hours last night going through the paper work in my Medicare file and medical history so I could fill out a survey for the hospital about why the number of mastectomies is increasing in our area, as well as other areas of the country. I think I made it clear as to why I chose mastectomy over lumpectomy.

Today I wrapped some Christmas presents.

I did a lot of Sparking, and spun 50 for our team today!

I gathered and separated laundry.

I played with the dog and cat. (with toys, and the infamous in and out game!)

I wandered and walked about in one of our local big box stores, and then rode the cart at Walmart. It was a quiet day, and I enjoyed it.

Fifi - sorry to hear about the loss of your cat. I know many of us become very very attached to our 4 legged friends and it is so hard when they leave us.
Sounds like you are making good progress on the organizing.

Every AM when I get up - I immediately made my bed (so I'm not tempted to crawl back into it)

I have my laundry sorted and while it is running - I'll attacking those papers and "stuff" that seems to end up on all lhor horizontal surfaces.

Big changes as our dear little cat is now dead. That knocked me back a bit, a sad time for us.
We have decided no more cats. So have cleared out the cat accoutrements. They took up a lot of space, including a few shelves in the kitchen. I have rearranged things so we have a better system for the rubbish and recycling, we are pleased with that! It helps kept the kitchen better organized.

Back to the dining room, the cupboard which I have not cleaned out in years. This cupboard has our dinner sets, glasses, vases, civil defense supplies, and some things that I am not entirely sure what they are. At present much of this stuff is sitting on the dining room table, but this is a good thing. That cupboard will be done today or tomorrow and all will be orderly, the things to take away on our Christmas holiday will be organised and ready to go, and I will refresh our earthquake supplies this week and rearrange our cans to use the oldest first.

Happy organizing, Sparkies!

Moonglowsanna, I so love your idea. I have gifted my youngest son's books to his oldest sister's kids and it's been so much fun. They have liked having something from their uncle when he was their age and when you find a book that matches their interest it really is grand. What a great way to recycle.

I got my grocery shopping done for the weekend and am mostly trying to get in an organized routine for the holidays. I need to set aside quiet writing time for my peace of mind and THAT is on the top of my organization list as well as reading every day. On this thread we often talk more about action projects and I need a few quiet ones right now. Anyone else like that?

I got rid of 99% of my books a few years ago and now I read on a Kindle and do research on the internet. Amazing how things have changed.

We have a playroom full of books that belong to me and our five kids who all have kids of their own. I write in books when I give them away and I have been separating the books into piles for each kid and sending them to their kids as surprise presents in the mail. Now I'm going through the books that are left and sending them out according to the grands' interests. One grandson got almost all of the dinosaur books. I have 4 soccer books that I will mail to the next five or six year old grand who can read and plays soccer. The animal books go to two little grand girls who love all kinds of critters. Two of the girls are into the human body big time so they got those books. I still have oodles of books left to give as they get older and read the young adult books, and Shakespeare, and Garfield. etc. It's been fun and I have made a dent in the books on the shelves, but none of the shelves are empty yet! I do the same thing with the toys!

Tuesday I went to pay some bills in town braving the frigid temperatures and the wind. School was canceled because of the cold and blowing snow. I bought some playing cards at the chamber of commerce and some of those wooden replicas of the city hall and the big catholic church to send to our kids for Christmas gifts. I know the schools are on a 2 hour delay again today because of the bitter cold and strong winds. The church quilting group meets on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, but only if school is open. I stopped at the grocery to get some salad fixings and found some fresh blueberries for a good price. I picked up the mail and came home.

Tuesday - got several things on my "list" done.
Went to Prayers & Squares and finished layering and putting ties into a quilt
Went to my knitting group - but just visited with the ladies - since I don't know what I am going to work on next.
Got a pkg mailed at the Post office and my 2 boxes delivered to The Operation Xmas Child group.
Did my duty to let my brother's dogs out into the yard mid-day
Finally went on a 3 mile walk with friends this evening.
Now I'm finally going to bed and I don't think I will have any problem falling asleep LOL

Today was a day to play catch-up.
I paid my property taxes - their website was down for a couple days, so I'm glad that task is done.
I did shopping for 2 shoe-boxes filled with things for needy children in other countries. We do this every Xmas season - Samaritan's Purse Operation - Christmas Child.
I had fun at the dollar store picking out things for 2 boxes with things. Then when I got home I found 2 old shoe boxes - wrapped the top and bottom with xmas paper and they are done.
I found out where I need to drop them off and have that planned for tomorrow.
AND I even got up early this AM and went to the morning yoga class at my rec center.
So, I feel like I have accomplished some stuff today

I love lladro but only have a few pieces.

WOW you are all making so much progress.
I have been thinking about my garage again. I just feel overwhelmed with all the stuff in there and I am talking myself into getting rid of more stuff.
I have a large box of Lladro ceramics that I bought for my mom - I bought her a piece from many of the countries I visited. They have been in a box for over 20 years .
I'm not a collector and so I'll ask my brothers to decide.....LOL

finally finished decluttering papers and receipts. I learned you only have to keep 7 years of income tax records so that cleared some space because I had kept them all (32 years worth!)
