I bought those rubbermaid containers when I saw them at a friends house. They are great!!!
But I do have to be careful to get the lids on tight and correctly.

I'm also glad I bought a dustpan that has a handle. This way you don't have to stoop down with a regular dustpan, sweep the dust/dirt into it, and then straighten your body up again.

It saves stress on my body and back and is a godsend!

I love the Swiffer dusters and the extension you can buy (separately). Since I'm undertall, I got tired of having to use a stepladder to dust ceilings or corners of walls. With the extension, I can dust ceilings (except for Cathedral), baseboards, wallpaper, etc., without hurting myself or worrying about falling off ladders. It takes just a few minutes to get all the dust off.

For me, this was a great investment.

I found a spice holder at Bed Bath and Beyond that fit in a narrow upper cabinet. It had 3 drawers that pulled at, and then dropped down so you could place the spices in. see them and easily pull out.

I was so tired of everytime I opened my cabinet doors, all my tupperware and lids fell out on to the floor. I could never find the correct lid for the bowl I wanted to use either. So I threw them all out!! And I bought the Rubbermaid premier Collection of containers and lids that interlock together and stack neatly in my cabinet. Here's the link to what I bought:

http://www.rubbermaid.com/Category/Pages
/ProductDetail.aspx?CatName=FoodStorag
e&Prod_ID=RP091260&Redirect=1

I love these because the lids all stack and lock together and fit under the bowls, and in fact lock to the bottom of the bowl as well! And every single bowl and lid will all fit into one nice neat stack in my cabinet! They are all in one place now. I now longer have to search separate bins to find a lid to fit the bowl. They are microwave proof, dishwasher and freezer safe and will not stain. And they are pretty enough to use as serving bowls as well!

I bought mine at Target so they are readily available. I will post some pictures up on my SparkPage so you can see how they are all stacked.

I know you will like them as much as I do.

So I had one of those spice stair like holders. It was hard for me to see what I had and get them. I saw something a long time ago, so I decided to look for them on line. I have a small kitchen with very little cupboard space, so getting these that stick to the inside of your door sounded like a great fix for me! I decided to try it!

Another thing I liked about them was how you can pick how many across you want. I had a thin cupboard near my stove perfect for this set up and picking how many across and down I wanted was great! I LOVE it and was very happy I got them!

I now use the stair type spice holder for my larger spices that do not fit in the clips. I can see those fine, so all is a win win... hee hee.

If you want a great vacuum that HAS a bag, then you should check out the ORECK. Very lightweight and really good. Worth the extra $$

Ok, Now I'm asking for the opposite end of the Dyson. I have a Shark (but I don't remember what model it is) that is really all I need, but it's starting to fall apart. (I've had it for several years and now the wheels keep falling off). I use it on hardwood floors, cement floors and indoor/outdoor carpet. Any recommendations? I need lightweight and I want bagless. I wouldn't mind the ability to convert from stick or regular vacuum mode to handheld. This was is and it's been nice the few times I've used it, but not necessary.

The other review I'm looking for is for a steam cleaner. I had a Euro steamer and it no longer produces steam. So I need a new one.

I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you Everyone. This has been very interesting. Its seems the concensus is Dyson is a good vacuum! I will give it a try next time I am in the market for a vacuum, which should be soon. I go thru them pretty fast. I also have an upstairs vac and a downstairs vac. But only 3 dogs come upstairs and sleep in my room only. So the upstairs vac does not have to be as good as the one I use downstairs. That one gets alot of heavy use. And I would really like one that is easy to use and picks up all the dog hair. I feel like the Kenmore mowes it into balls and I have to go over it a few times to get it off the carpet.

Thanks again

Hi, I have Dyson Animal and love it too, also heavy for lifting and hope some day to have one up and down stairs.

I have two ragdoll cats, they are long haired and shed a lot, so I need it. Works great.

Sometimes I have to take off the bottom part and cut out the extra hair and fur, I have long hair, but other than that I love not having to buy bags and it has great suck power!!!

I recently became the owner of a Dyson DC25, I previously had a Hoover.
I also have 3 inside dogs & occasionally the 4th outside dog comes in.
Before using the Dyson for the first time in my Family room I vacuumed
with the old vac first, sure it picked up & any other time I would have thought
'Ok, it's clean'...but than I used the Dyson over the same area & WOW
the amount of Dog hair alone that it picked up shocked me.
After using the Dyson in my home I swear the air feels fresh in these rooms.
Love, Love my Dyson.

I was VERY disappointed in my Dyson handheld, but of course it was not the same structure as the well-known upright. I bought the Dyson (which was expensive) thinking I was getting top-of-the-line, but it was no better than the little $39 dollar ones. In fact, it was worse. Sold it at a garage sale for $15. I'm still a little tempted to try the "real" Dyson, as it looks so different than most vacuums. However, different is not always better and a famous name does not guarantee quality. - A10TIVTRTL

My husband and I have the Dyson Animal - and LOVE it!

I ahve two very furry cats, and living in Florida, they shed all the time. We live in a home of mixed flooring and this vaccum is wonderful in getting everything up. We even use it to get the fur and dirt off my very red couches, and it does wonders!
Super easy to empty and it comes apart for cleaning easily too! (the filter can get clogged, but wipes clean with no effort at all.)
We have owned this vaccum for about 7 years now and it cleans as well as it did on day one.

I find it a bit heavy, as we have a two story home and I lug it upstairs once a week (but hey! Extra strength training!) and have found the hose to be a bit awkward for detailed/close in work (stairs: the first two are weird as the cleaner is too close, the rest are a breeze).

All in all, this was one of the greatest investments we have ever made.

Willpower is remembering what you want.

We have a DC-07 and a DC-14. We wouldn't own any other vacuum, except a Dyson.
We had renters in our home for 4 years and they had a dog and they also had a DC-14 Dyson. Now that we are back in our home (4 yrs), we've never seen one dog hair. I find that amazing.

*We have white carpet.

in answer Q - dyson and multiple pets
yes i have two pugs and they do shed. i have a sunbeam vacuum system in the house - i also have a canister sears kenmorei keep for convenience down on my lower level.
i have borrowed the dyson upright from my friend and used it a few times.
i find the dyson is quite easy to use as they advertise - and suction is very good HOWEVER having said that - i find ALL vacuums fall short of really get deep down hairs and dust.
it may seem all your vacuuming is good - but then when you have rent a professional machine or have a company come in ESPECIALLY ON THE STAIRS - you are appalled at what they pick up.
i do my stairs the OLD FASHIONED BACK BREAKING WAY - with a damp rag and rake over the stairs - and the carpet if there is any - it takes me a couple of days to do it all - but i can get deep into the crease and sides which the vacuuming does not suck out.
so that is it for me - any vacuum will do hardwood which i have almost every where - and travertine tiles, but baseboards etc need to be damp ragged and you need to WEAR GLASSES to be sure you see all the fur bunnies hiding there.
hope this helps.

Hi, I have the newer model Kenmore canister and I absolutely love it. I have two dogs and it picks up hair pretty good. My older model took a beating because I used it constantly and it was really loud and I needed to get the newer model because it indicated that it had better suction and was more quiet. When I did the research I found that vacuums in general can be very expensive. My partner, searched on ebay and found one that was less than $200.00 for a display model. I said to myself well how bad can this be if it was only on display. When I received it I was overjoyed; 1) that I spent less money on a brand new vacuum; 2) the suction is much more powerful than the older model and 3) it is much more quieter. emoticon

I have a LG Kompact and one cat, it's light and easy to clean but can't even manage the hairs of my one and only pet :(
I might give the dyson a try, is it heavy?
Once I rented a place and borrowed the landlady's dyson but found it so extremely heavy it deterred me from buying one.

I don't have a dyson but I do have a Hoover Mach 5
It picks up more pet hair and sand than any vacuum I've ever used it used to be a bad vaccum I thought at first even after I had such great success with it I live out in the country and I have like sand instead of dirt really so it takes tons of it it never really lost its suction power but I know a lot of people didn't like we found an extra filter on it that on our Manuel never mentioned it needs cleaned out every time you dump or done using the vacuum the peice comes out and its above the canister it don't look like it comes out but it does and it washable filter up there right where the orange button is to take it out I love this vacuum but its pretty expensive

I do the best I can from now on my life is mine I want to be a healthy nana I can only control that I'm back And I'm doing the done girl and I am going to be a turbo fire hottie with the blazing blue team i am a positive thoghtful person who cares about others And my family sherry wilson

I can't think of any products to review, but I know of one I would like to see if any one has this.

A DYSON vacuum. They are very expensive and I would love to know if they are worth it. I have 6 dogs and go thru vacuums like crazy. I have an upper grade model Kenmore canister vac right now as I have found nothing else I like. My mother gave me the same vac for my wedding shower many years ago and it worked great, till I had to replace it. Seems they don't make as good now as they did in 1986!

I had a Hoover upright that I just HATED. Gave that to my son when he went to college. It finally broke last month so I gave him my Bissell upright that I wasn't to crazy about either.

My techno-geek cousin said he has the Dyson Animal and really likes it. But he only has 1 dog.

Does anyone have this vacuum and for how long? Do you still like it after using it for a while? Does it get around the kitchen chairs well? Thats what I like about the Kenmore is the floor attachment gets thru all the chair legs to get under the kitchen table. And I can get things off the ceiling with out the thing falling over. Both other uprights I had fell over when using the hose attachment.

Anything you can tell me is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Lisa

Last spring, I won a contest from Ninja systems. I won a lot of items. One of them was the 3 in 1 Kitchen system. I don't know how I ever got along with out it. It has the capability of doing stovetop cooking, slow cooker and oven. I have mainly used it for stove top and slow cooker, but I have roasted chicken in it (if you're wanting a crisp skin, it won't happen here, because it's more of a steam bake than the oven.). I'm still learning how to use the oven feature, because for some reason it shuts off and I haven't figured out why. It is extremely easy to clean. The one main drawback I see is that the handles get extremely hot. But so far, that and the oven setting shutting off are the only things I've had trouble with. Remembering that it's hot is quickly a habit after touching it once.

I know this, If something should ever happen to this, it will be immediately replaced. It doesn't heat up the house when I use it. To clean it, I basically just have to wipe it out.

One of my favorite recipes is the lasagna. It's ready in under 30 minutes.

If anyone else has one, please post your review (positive or negative) here.
