My husband is feeling better today but still some abdominal pain/ He slept longer this morning than I have ever seen him do before. He is an early riser but did not get up until almost 9am. He took a nap after zoom church service because he was still tired. My daughter said it lasted 3 days with our granddaughter so he is on the upswing now if it lasts like it did with them. I have been having some stomach cramps today but I also have Irritable Bowel Syndrome which may be what my problem is.

Judith - how much snow did you have last week? I see on the weather that another snow storm was going through North of us on Friday. I don't know if it got up high enough to affect you.

Susan, I am glad you were able to see some cards that others were doing. It is always nice to learn new things and get new ideas to encourage others.

Linda, I hope your husband gets over this virus quickly. I suffer from Asthma and used to often get Bronchitis so understand how hard it is to be so congested. Nice that you got the cleaning done! It always feels better to have our house in order, I agree. And it means your surgery was a success! Yay!

We had a lovely church time this morning then I crafted in the afternoon as some friends were running a cyber retreat for card makers. They did videos and supply lists and example cards. It was nicely done and enjoyable to get someone else's ideas to play with. I get a little stale sometimes, trying to come up with projects for me and my team. I got to sit at my own craft desk at home and play along.

I have been cleaning lots of things that i have neglected due to the restrictions I had. Now that I no longer have to be concerned about my healing, my house is looking much better. We were planning to have a few friends over for church at our house tomorrow but today my husband is not feeling well. (Having people over was my stimulus to get the cleaning done.) I think that he has the same thing that my granddaughter had when were were back in Denver. He is feeling weak, dizzy, coughing and congested. My granddaughter had a covid test and it was negative so I think this is just a random virus. We have to watch him closely when he gets congested because he is very prone to pneumonia even after he has had a pneumonia shot.

I pray for your daily and appreciate your prayers!

Linda, what a blessing to find someone who could fax that information for you! I'm glad that part is now behind you. Yes, it would be tempting to push yourself at Planet Fitness but wiser to take it gradually, like you plan to. Glad you are having nice weather.

Judith, that is also a blessing, that you feel better today. I hope it is a sign of good healing happening for you.

My husband had a scare with his bad eye today. He thought the retina was detaching again. We rushed to the hospital and were able to see an eye clinic Dr. who reassured us both that the eye was healing well. Praise God! He is on track to have the oil removed and for the final healing to take place sometime in March/April. Once the eye is healed and provided no other health issues prevent it (we're still waiting for his emergency tests for the internal bleeding to take place) then they will schedule knee replacement surgery.

Thank you both for praying.

God is definitely in control. I have to remind myself of this some times. We were able to find someone who had a FAX at work who was able to send my paperwork for free. That is a huge burden off my shoulders! I hope that there are not more repercussions with filing my income tax next month. Thank-you so much for your prayer support.

The weather is so much warmer today. It is in the 50's with some cloud cover. I am feeling like Spring is around the corner. Even though I know this is not true, it helps me be energized today.

I am going back to Planet Fitness today but being careful to not do too much like I did last week. I may just do the treadmill and leave the bicycle for another day.

Judith - I am glad you are feeling better. I think you said you have an appointment to see the doctor next month. I hope he can give you some help and advice.

Thank you Susan, this morning is better which I am thankful for as it was a poor night with mouth & face discomfort....however there is a marked improvement in which I thank God!

Hope the medical appointments all have good results and good reports for Colin, keep us posted please, my prayers continue...

Linda, these scammers sure cause so much trouble to those they take advantage of.There seems to be so much of this these days. Oh my, reading that 50 of the officer's co-workers had the same thing happen to them, you and others all having to fill out paper work for ID Theft. So shocking! As Susan said hope there is a good alternative found for you and it gets resolved! And you find a cheaper price...

Linda, that is just so frustrating to be going through all this because of a scammer. I hope you find a good alternative soon.

Judith, it's good to hear you feel a little better today. May that trend continue for you!

We had medical appointments all day for hubby then went to a friend's for dinner.

Traveling day today. We tried to FAX the materials for the ID theft but the cheapest one we found in Denver area was going to cost $38 to send all the info so we decided to come to the smaller town and see if it is cheaper. When we got here, it was too late to check anything out so we will make calls tomorrow to see if we can find anything cheaper.

I went to the police department to fill out the ID theft paperwork and the officer told me that 50 of his co-workers have had to fill out the same forms. I don't feel quite so singled out since he told me I am not the only one to have this problem. I got the papers notarized and now will just have to get a few more details done so I can submit the paperwork. I Identity Theft organization will assign me someone who can help with anything that still needs to be done. I am so glad we are here in Denver since that is where all the paperwork needed to be done. If we were in our other house, my daughter might not have thought the original notice was important and woud not have given it to me.

Linda, I hope your knee builds up some stamina again over time. I am so sorry about the fraud! I hope the police can work it out so you don't have too much to deal with. Wow. Glad you had your Bible study group to talk it over with and pray.

I had a quiet day. O did some cooking and crafting and a friend stopped by for a quick coffee. We had prayer meeting this evening.

Well, I am afraid I was too ambitious with my stationary bicycle exercises. It felt fine so I did 30 minutes and now my knee is reminding me of my over zealous activity. I put some menthol cream on it when I went to bed so it feels better now. We will be going back to our ranch house so that will be nice to not have to climb the stairs.

Yesterday I received a tax form from the department of labor saying that I received almost $10,000 in unemployment compensation for the past year. I am retired and have had no need to file for unemployment so another person has stolen my identity and filed in my name. This is not the first time someone has used my name illegally but each time it makes me so angry! I shared with my Bible study group today and we prayed for who ever it is that God will move in their life. It may not happen but it helped change my attitude to forgive them for doing it. It is sad that they are people in the world who have no regard to moral principles.

It has been snowing all day and the wind has been blowing. I don't know how much will accumulate because it is very small flakes. My Mom used to say that the Indians had a saying about snow - "Big snow - little snow, little snow - big snow". Translated it means if the flakes are "big" in shape there will be "little" accumulation and if the snow is "little" in shape there will be a "big" accumulation.

Oh Linda, Adeleena is beautiful! Thank you for posting her picture. She looks so huggable. I'm glad you are making progress with your hip. Lol about becoming a metal woman if you had all those surgeries.

Judith, I helped make prayer journals for all the ladies on church recently. One of the men heard about them and made his own. It's a great way to focus and be intentional about your prayer life.

We farewelled our friends this morning, sadly.

We had a wonderful time at my son's house with Adeleena. She is so much more awake and is smiling and cooing. She is also gaining weight at the rate she should be.

I am going to exercise today to see how it feels doing the stationary bicycle. The doctor added this to my walking to do for the next 6 weeks. It will be good to do something else for exercise. I am able to walk up the stairs at this house much easier. My other arthritic joints don't like it as well but to repair all of the joints would make me more metal than bone. LOL

Cold today but bright sunshine which helps. No snow yet

This afternoon we will be going to see Adeleena. I am sure she has grown a lot in the past 6 weeks. I am making dinner rolls today to go with the meal we will be eating with them.

I have spent 4 hours on zoom meetings today and have another 2 hour one in a few hours. I was outside a little bit to hang up my comforter on the clothesline that I washed and it was really cold. I may have to figure out an indoor activity to do today.

Yesterday I spent most of the day making folders for the 24 new students I had put in the computer but did not have hard copies of the information. It is the beginning of the quarter and we are opening up a new set of classes (Master of Arts in Biblical Studies) in Spanish so there are quite a few people interested in this. My husband is so busy that he has had to delegate some things to other teachers while he is setting up this new program. He hope to find a replacement for himself as the director in the next 3 years so he can just do the teaching part which he loves more than the directorship along with teaching.

I really like to have a prayer list that I can put in requests and then mark them off as answered. It encourages me to trust that God does answer prayers although not necessarily in our requested time frame. He knows the future and does things that help us grow and thrive in our trust/faith sometimes. His timing is always right.

Susan you mentioned a prayer journal you use with prayer requests you are praying for: I too have a journal I keep with prayer requests I pray for...

So we all are praying one for the other...

Linda, our Church has the same system, Pastor sends out requests on his weekly message he sends to the congregation, as we are in lock down and church can't meet in person we have an online recirded message our Pastor sends each week for us...

So happy to hear about the good report Linda, I rejoice with you, God is Good, I Praise God for His Healing touch upon your body, great to hear you don't need physiotherapy and have the ok to go ahead by week 12 to do whatever exercise you want to do! Praise God!

Have a Blessed day Susan and Linda...

Linda, how lovely to have systematic prayer and encouragement for everyone in your church. I love that. I have a prayer journal with everyone's names in it so I try to pray for them all regularly. During Covid isolation, I sent out many cards.

That's great news about your hip!

Thank-you for sharing your beautiful cards with us Susan, Sending cards used to be something I did but have gotten away from it. Our minister challenged us to write a card to someone every week for this month to encourage them and every day we have three people we are praying for. By the end of the month, we will have prayed for everyone in the church. It is nice to know the whole church is praying for you on the day your name is announced. I have learned about people by what they say their prayer requests are.

I got a good report from my doctor. He said my x-rays were "beautiful" and that I was doing a good job. He checked my mobility and said just to continue to walk and start working out on a stationary bicycle for a while. He does not think that I need physical therapy. By week 12 I am allowed to do any type of exercise that I want. By that time the artificial "cup" that was placed in my pelvis should have bone grown around it and it will be stable. It was good to talk to him about still having some aches and pains and find out that it is normal. I was hoping that I had not done something wrong and had damaged the cup but he said it was fine.

Judith, you said it might snow in your area. We are expecting snow over the weekend. Snow is much more likely here in the Denver area than in our other house. The water service is saying unless we get more snow this winter, they will need to limit the amount of water use in the summer which will include watering the yards.

Judith, it was a nice day and that same friend I was crafting with online has come for a weekend visit! We are going to a crafty day tomorrow with more friends from our craft group. The restrictions here have been lifted so it is all possible again. We are mainly making greeting cards with Stampin' Up! products as all of the people in this group are SU demonstrators (me included). I make home decor sometimes like wreaths and framed work, and sometimes I scrap. How lovely to know you enjoy the same type of things. I used to run classes at home and in a local cafe pre COVID. I have not returned to doing any of the classes as my husband's health has not been good and he has needed my time and care.

I would love to see pictures of anything you make! Here's a couple of things I have worked on recently:

Thank you for praying. I think of both of you throughout the say and whisper prayers for you. Hugs.

Yes, they are a great service, I am thankful for mine...

Your day sounded nice with crafts and having coffee with friends...What crafts are you making Susan?

I too enjoy making crafts and creating cards and scrapbooking, I also make Wreaths for my Front Door and for Spring and Summer use a large straw hat with decorating it with tulle and ribbon dried and silk flowers and other embellishments, I have Easter, Christmas and Valentines Door Wreaths and Decorations to make my place cheery and welcome for those who come to my place! This year I am in the process of making a new Spring/Summer wreath using an oversized straw hat! Will share picture when its done.

Susan and Linda, my prayers are with you both and your families...

Yes, we have a few free bus services for people who qualify to use them. They are accessed through Community Health via your Dr. Like you mentioned, Linda, they are really only urban services, not rural. My sister lives 20 kilometres form her grocery store, so the government did grant her some funds to pay someone to drive her there (and to appointments) once a week. She had a hard time finding someone to do it, but now she has it all worked out. I hope you find a good solution for your MIL.

I hope your granddaughter will help you get organised, Linda!

Judith, that sounds like a good service in your area. Ours sounds similar but has a different name.

I crafted and had coffee with a gf online this morning. It was a good break form routine.

I believe that we do have this service in town but my MIL lives 25 miles out of town in a small farming community. Hiring someone to drive her might be an option but the main problem is that she wants to be independent and drive herself. Having someone drive her and having to pay them would probably be an issue but it is worth a discussion. Thanks so much for her suggestions though. I will talk to my SIL about them all. Since we do not need to do anything about her license yet, maybe by the time she needs to renew, it might not be a problem. She is getting more unsteady and weak as time goes on. Her birthday is in July.

Today is a day to get things done before we leave tomorrow. I have the usual last minute cleaning, washing clothes, packing and getting food ready for the trip. Packing is not too hard since we have duplicates of some clothes at both houses. I do have a lot of filing to do when I get there since the main file cabinets for the school are there. I have things in a temporary filing system here but I still need to make the permanent files with names and folders in them. Maybe I can get my granddaughter to help me. She loves to use the label machine.

Susan, another great idea about paying someone to drive her...

Maybe another option: here where I live we have a Public Service that is connected to our City Transit system, its called Handy Dart, its for people with all kinds of disabilities and for Seniors, our Doctor or Health Care provider puts in a signed form stating their client is unable to take the City Bus Service and would benefit by a service picking up and dropping off at their own home and to the places they need to go like Medical appointments and or Shopping. I use the service for all my appointments and when I could go out shopping before cancer and pandemic the service was great when I needed to grocery shop..They pick me up at my home and take me to my apointments and then pick me up and drop me off at my home, its a Door to Door Service!

Susan and Linda, not sure if your area has such a service? Some places they call it Medi-Van..

Glad one idea about the letter will possibly help, Linda. The other idea I had was, if there is money for it. why not pay a Carer to drive her once a week somewhere? That would mean she can be independent of family at least once a week? My husband is going to use this option occasionally, especially if I need to be somewhere else when he wants to go in an opposite direction. Due to his health he has a little funding for this purpose though. I hope your check up is all positive!

Amen and amen, Judith! I love the hymn When We See Jesus. And I'll Fly Away. We're about to go to prayer meeting and always start with singing some hymns. Maybe I'll suggest one of those tonight.

I had a quiet day trying out a craft technique with black cardstock. I'm still experimenting but better go get ready fro church now. Take care, my friends.

Praise the Lord the cyclone is now not threatening the coast. So much damage can be done with the flooring and high winds. It happens so quickly but usually those who live on the coast at least have experience and can protect things before hand.

I agree a note from the doctor would help for my mother-in-law. I will suggest this to my sinter-in-law. She can't remember that he said to not drive but maybe if we had a letter that she could look at it would help. She does have all of us taking her places now but she feels she is a burden and could do things for herself to give us some relief. We should tell her more often that it is a privilege to help her because we love her and are so appreciative for what she has done for us in the past.

This morning was very cloudy and looked like snow but this afternoon there are no clouds in the sky. We are hoping for good weather as we travel over the mountain on Thursday to have my 6 week checkup.

Susan, I say a hearty Amen, a chorus has just come to mind with reading your last comment "when the Lord comes back for His own" (soon and very soon we shall see the King) yes what a day that will be when we see Jesus and are with Him for all eternity!

Linda: I like Susan's suggestion about possibly getting a note from the Doctor...I will keep this situation in prayer...here's hoping a letter will help and solve the situation...

Judith, it all seems like a dream at the moment, to have COVID gone and to get back to a more 'normal' lifestyle. One day we will all be free of this, when the Lord comes back for His own!

Linda, that's a hard one. Sometimes this sort of news is best handled by someone outside the family, who she respects. Can you get a letter from the Dr saying she cannot drive? She might respect a Dr's letter more than family opinion and having it in writing may lend weight to the decision and serve as a tangible reminder. Or can the Dr arrange for her license to be cancelled earlier on the grounds of safety? It seems harsh, I know, but you are right about safety needing to be considered. Otherwise, could a family member take the car and be responsible for driving her places when she wants to go somewhere? I had to move in with my Mother the last months of her life and I drove her everywhere myself. I was in charge of her keys and she didn't mind at all. She had had a couple of close calls with the car before I did that and the last ride I took with her as the driver was scary. She did not see gutters, underestimated how much room she had for the car, swiped against things etc. She had Retinitis Pigmentosa so her sight was affected. She was kind of relieved to give me the job of driving. She had only driven so long as she was driver for my sister who is legally blind! So I drove them both around. Sis now has a Carer who comes and drives her to the shops and for medical appointments etc. I hope something works for you all.

It's a beautiful sunny day here today and the cyclone has deteriorated into a rain depression up north, so praise the Lord.

Today was a cloudy and gloomy day. We took my mother-in-law to an appointment for her eyes (she has glaucoma) and bought some groceries for her. My sister-in-law who lives very close to her and is her main caregiver said that she is getting concerned about the safety of my MIL because she keeps talking about wanting to start to drive again. The doctor has told her not to drive since her fractured hip but she does not remember that. She keeps saying she will not drive far but her reaction time is very slow and she had a bad leg with ulcers on it and she can not wear a shoe on that leg. We want to keep her as independent as possible but it is hard to have the serious conversations about safety when she can not see what a risk she is. Her drivers license will expire in July so there needs to be a conversation that will treat her as an adult but also addresses the safety she can not see. Growing older is so hard on the person as well as the family that has to care for them. Any suggestions or anything you have tried with an older family member?

Thank you both for praying for my family and friends. The cyclone is still heading south towards the town our son lives in. We have more friends and family there too. It is likely to cause flash flooding on a wide scale. They are not sure if the storm will move inland after this evening or turn around and start another tour of the coast to the north, where our daughter and many family and friends are. I appreciate your prayers for their safety. I've been monitoring the weather news all day and talking with our daughter and son. They are fine so far. Their homes should hold up to this storm as most structures are built to withstand at least cat 3 storms there. Meanwhile. we had a big storm here tonight. I am not concerned about flooding here and the storm was not violent, but it will likely cause some local flooding of roads. We aren't going very far from home these days so we should be fine.

I do hope and pray this virus will burn itself out and all of us will be able to go back to a semblance of our lives pre-virus. Praying for both of your safety.

My gluten free shortbread cookies were a success for church. I used a premade flour mixture that had xanthan gum in it. They were still crumbly as I mixed them so I added more butter and they turned out OK. After seeing what my cookies did, my husband used whole wheat flour for the communion bread.

Susan - I will pray for the safety of your family and friends from the Cyclone.

Judith - we have not been brave enough to go out to eat at a restaurant with anyone yet. We have ordered to-go food but that is all. I agree it will be nice to be able to do that in the future and especially for you to eat regular food.

Susan, praying for safety and for a hedge of protection around your family and friend's that none of the flood waters will reach the.home or even cause any damage to their home or property! Praying for intervention of God's Mighty Hand of Power over this Cyclone!

So happy you were able to attend Church and go out for lunch after...I am sure you enjoyed the fellowship with your friend's who were visiting!

I am waiting for the day when I can attend Church and go out for lunch with family and friends... And to actually eat normal food again, YES....It will happen one day...Praise God!

Your bread will be heavier and more crumbly, Linda. If you can find a bag of Xantham Gum and add 1/4 teaspoon for every 1 - 2 cups of flour, that will help hold it together. Have a lovely day.

We had church this morning and old friends, our Pastor from up north (1695kms away)was here with his wife. We were able to go out to lunch with them. We had to wear masks at church and on our way to the restaurant, but we could take them off at the table while we ate. It was good to see them. They are returning to the North again in the next few days. There is a slow moving cat 1 cyclone (Cyclone Kimi) forming off the coast there. It's expected to go to cat 2, and dump loads of flood water. I have family and friends who will be affected. Praying everyone stays safe and for minimal property damage.

It is above freezing and it is not noon yet. Yay we are getting a little warmer. It is so much easier to walk when it is above freezing!

We are having a zoom church meeting at our house again tomorrow. One of the girls is gluten free so we will be looking at gluten free recipes today. I'm not sure how much gluten free flour will affect our communion bread recipe but I am willing to try it.

Oh Linda, that is a hard situation I am so glad you go to the Bible for principles to guide and teach. That way the person you counsel has a choice based on good parameters.

Judith, I like that we are finding things we have in common. Chai Latte is lovely.

We had to wear masks at the shopping centre today for am hour. Man, was it hard to breath with them on. I hope these restrictions get relaxed again soon.

I do like Starbucks Chia tea Latte but rarely buy them. My son says it tastes like pumpkin pie in a glass. He does not like pumpkin pie so that was not meant as a good thing for him. LOL

Lots of phone calls this morning to get done. One more I am not really looking forward to but needs to be done. Someone is not agreeing with my suggestion I gave to their friend. Of course the Bible has the best advice which is what I felt I gave. This person is a "fixer" and wants things done quickly. I am sure that we can discuss things and can see things through as sisters in Christ. It is hard for her to be patient and hard for me to be aggressive. Patience sometimes just comes with age.

I used to be a true Coffee liker, however since my current situation it has been less desireable, I still love the taste and sometimes I make a cup with drinking couple of sips but what I have grown to love is herbal tea lattes! My favorite is London Fog Tea Latte its made with Earl Grey Tea, sometimes I get a Chai Tea Latte. My favorite place to get these lattes is Starbucks!

When my friends do shopping for me I order one via Mobile order and order my friend what they want as a thank you. I look forward to my tea latte every Saturday after my friends get my groceries! A great treat for us both.

Thanks Susan and Linda for sharing what you enjoy...another thing we have in common...

It was fun to have a Facebook Messenger video chat with your friends for sure. It was mainly the chat we were after so the coffees didn't matter too much. I just made our regular decaf coffees with cream.

I found years ago that caffeinated coffee and regular dairy upsets my tummy and gives me the jitters, so went decaf then. It has done the trick. I like the flavour of coffee so decaf is great for me. I usually just have lactose free cream in it but when I feel like a treat, I add about a quarter teaspoon of Erythritol (sugar substitute) and a splash of vanilla essence. Not too much. Sometimes I sprinkle cinnamon in it as well. Usually at Christmas. Then it feels like a special coffee to me. I never buy the amazing concoctions they make at coffee shops. Just coffee decaf coffee on almond milk or lactose free cream is my usual order.

I do like tea as well and have recently ordered some flavoured ones online. I got black tea with cinnamon, black tea with orange and cinnamon, French earl gray, rose Gray and have tried one with tumeric and spices in it. I have a brew cup I use for the tea leaves. You just add the leaves to a strainer and the strainer goes in your cup. You take it out when the tea is strong enough. I never add milk or cream to tea.

Susan, It is nice to have a quiet day once in a while. When you have a "coffee date" with friends, do you have fancy flavored coffees? Some of my friends have specialty coffees that have so much flavoring and sweeteners that I can't imagine that they can even taste the coffee. I never have been a coffee drinker so I can not relate. My Mom did not like coffee and I guess I got it from her. The fancy coffees are so expensive, I guess my dislike of them is saving me money. Caffeine also makes me jittery so I try to stay away from all things with it in, I do like herbal teas though.

We're having a slow day.. We just had a 'coffee date' with another couple of friends via Facebook Messenger. It was nice to see their faces, even if it is only online.

We are about to start a new quarter in our school so I am having lots of new students to register and put in our files. Our hard copy files are at our other house so I have a big pile of paperwork to put in the files when we go back next week. We had new students since Sunday. It is exciting to see so many want to study the Bible as well as be equipped as ministers to their congregations.

It was supposed to get above freezing today but did not make it. I was in hopes of a little break in the cold streak.

I am sorry about your daughter's work situation Judith. She was doing what was right but the mother was very rude. I hope she does not have this happen very often.

Interesting about the restrictions on your areas, Judith and Linda. At the moment our restrictions are that we have to wear masks in public indoor settings. We can go to restaurants and as long as we are socially distanced, can eat without masks on. Then we put the masks on as we get up. Our churches are asked not to meet unless they can provide social distancing. Since we meet at a gym in a school, we have plenty of room to do that, We wear masks till we are seated then can take them off till we move away from our seats. Households can sit together but no one else can stay close. Kids under 12 do not have to wear masks. Schools are out for the summer but day care is still available. Day Care staff don't have to wear masks. We're allowed to see two friends a day in our homes. So it seems many situations are different, and we have to learn the rules as we go along! And they change all the time. We don't have colour coded zones, just rules for whatever area you live in. and that changes frequently depending on how many cases there are closeby and how well contact tracing is working. I'm glad we don't have to wear masks in our own vehicles anymore. For now.

Linda, I hope your hip allows you to have more driving freedom soon. I get it about the truck. We have a D-MUX Ute which sis taller and longer than other types of car (some call it a truck) and I have had to learn to drive it. I still can't park it straight! But now Col is driving. I don't have to worry about it, Except I like to drive sometimes to keep up my confidence. How bizarre to dream about work after all this time. I guess I have done that too. I retired in 2013. It was a big part of my life so I guess it really isn't too surprising to do that sometimes? I don't know. Dreams are hard to explain.

Judith, I'm sorry your daughter had such a bad experience with that parent. I hope she wasn't traumatised. It makes it so hard to protect the children when parents don't play their part. Good for her, protecting them that way.

Take care, both of you. May God bless and keep you always.

Linda; Thanks for sharing where you are in your area, we had much the same as you last March/April but then the cases rose and we had more lockdowns. There are a few people who are bound to break the laws and do everything our Provincial Health Officer has ordered, even with hefty fines they still break the laws. my daughter owns her own Daycare & before Christmas she sent a letter out to the Daycare Parents reminding them to follow the Health Guidelines! we were only to meet with those of our own households; my daughter came across a picture of one daycare Mom posted on FaceBook with her toddler gathered around a table of 10 people talking about what a great time everyone had, my daughter contacted the Mom and said she couldn't bring her child to the daycare for the next week to protect herself and family and her daycare families to guard against any potential infections. The Mom poured our her anger on my daughter which caused so much stress! I just don't understand these people! emoticon emoticon

Hope your seminar went well and you have a great day and rest of your week... hope you get a better rest tonight free of dreams, especially the ones you are having! emoticon emoticon

We are in the "orange" restrictions here. Restaurants are allowed to have 50% capacity, churches are considered essential so we can have no more than 50 meeting together, masks and social distancing are still required. We were at a higher level a week ago but the governor said the restaurants were having so much trouble keeping afloat that he moved it down one notch to give them a chance to have people eat in. We will see how this works. If the numbers go up, we will go back to red.

I have a seminar this morning to attend via Zoom. It required me to get up earlier than usual. I may need a nap later on. I was pretty restless last nigh with dreams that I was back to work but I was not on my usual unit and I did not know how I was going to get things done not knowing where things were or the residents. After being retired for several years I was hoping I would quit having dreams of working.

Susan, its great to see you back posting again, sorry you both are feeling the affects from the dust and fresh paint that has been in the air since neighbors had roof done, hope you can breathe easier and feel better and Colin's asthma improves so he can breathe easier too.

I am so happy Colin can drive again, for sure this new freedom has made him so cheery and happy, it made me chuckle again with you telling me Colin was out of the house today at crack of dawn to check mail....I am so happy for you and Colin.

Happy they are successfully contact tracing those who have been in contact with the infected persons, wow, 300 people in quarantine , that is a lot but its good they can't spread the virus to anyone else now.

Happy you are having your restrictions eased up, yes wearing a mask is mandatory here in all public places including on Buses, Subways and Ferry and public Boats. School children are wearing masks and the classrooms are downsized too. Restaurants can only have take out and no inservice Hair Salons or Barbership's are permitted. then they will evaluate the situation after 2 weeks and see if lock down continues, we have been in lockdown since December, I have had outdoor visits from family and friends and we do FaceTime, Zoom and Texting.

Linda, hope you are having a good day and your week is blessed. Continue my prayers that your hip recovers and you stay free from pain. How are things in your area? Are you in lockdown with the restrictions that Susan and I are having in our areas. Hope the cases are coming down and things start improving. All we can do is keep praying..

Stay safe and well all, God Bless

It is wonderful that Colin's eye is doing better. After all he has been through it is great that he has good news. Freedom to be more mobile is so important. When we first moved to our retirement home, we only had our truck which it too big for me to drive. I had to depend on my husband to take me everywhere. This past summer, we brought my car over here so I do not have to depend on him or a friend to take me everywhere. It was very freeing to be mobile so I can understand his happiness. Now with my hip surgery we are back to my husband taking me everywhere again because my car is a stick shift and I can not depend on my left leg to push in the clutch. It also is very low to the ground which makes it hard to get in. On the 21st I go back for my 6 week checkup with x-rays to make sure everything is healed. At that time the doctor will tell me how much I am allowed to do and if I will need physical therapy. Other than a soreness in my thigh, I am pretty much back to normal except for exercise restrictions.

How great that you can meet with a few people in your home again, Linda! It makes such a difference, doesn't it. And the cinnamon rolls sounded so good. I can almost smell them. I hope your hip is healing well. You asked about Colin's eye. He is healing well at last. The Dr wants to see him in March to see if it is healed enough for him to take out the oil. In the meantime Colin is allowed to drive again. That is what is making him so happy. That said, today his asthma is bothering him. Our neighbours had their roof restored and the ground off dust and fresh paint was in the air a lot. Both of us are feeling it in our lungs. We have closed the house up and have the air conditioning on, even though it is a lovely day outside.

Judith, glad it made you chuckle to imagine Colin being happy to drive again. He feels as though he has his freedom wings again! Lol! He was out at the crack of dawn again today, checking the mail.

We still have restrictions here but they are fairly confident they have contact traced all the people who could be infected by the new strain of virus and have quarantined over 300 people. After 6pm today, we can ease up on some of our restrictions but still have to wear masks till the 22nd whenever we are in a public indoor space and maintain social distancing. We can do that.

It was so nice to get together with 5 other people today to have church service. One person was a campus kid so all the leftover food was sent home with him. He said he would have not problem getting rid of it. After they all left, we sanitized everything that could have been touched by them and left the windows open to air things out. It was 32 degrees so I was wearing my coat for a while to keep warm.

Sounds like a productive day Linda, so nice your dear Husband helped with the cleaning...How is your Hip these day? Trust you are doing well..

So happy the orders have been changed so Churches in your community can now open with proper safety measures in place! I like your idea of having few people in your home to watch the Sunday Service on Zoom, thats wonderful!

We are still in lock down and can't hold and Church Services in our buildings, however Pastor is sending out weekly Video messages that encourage us... We also have Pastor posting other encouraging messages on his FaceBook page. Yes, we are blessed!

The only snow we have here is in the higher elevations and in the mountain areas.

It was a busy cleaning day today. My husband helped me clean so I would not have to bend my hip too much doing things near the floor. The church is considered "essential business" so we may now gather with less than 50 members while wearing masks and keeping appropriate distances. Instead of meeting as a whole church, we are meeting as small groups to watch the service on Zoom. We are having 4 people come to our house so that is manageable for us. I also made cinnamon rolls which will need to be eaten alone by the people so as to not break the mask wearing rule.

Snow was predicted but none happened. I heard that on the other side of the mountain they did have some snow but I do not know how much they received.

Susan - How is Colin's eye doing?

Judith - I like the instapot because I understand it more. People are so excited as if this was a new way to cook but actually it is just an electric pressure cooker with fancy buttons. It is definitely much faster than just using the stove to cook things and much quieter. There is no more hearing the top part jiggle to tell you it is under pressure. I have not tried the fancy buttons to cook rice or other things.

It is barely above freezing today. I tried to walk yesterday at this weather but could not stay out very long. We did get to meet a new person who had just built a "little lending library" down the street. I may have some books I can add to her collection.

Linda, I think I have worked out where i can put my crock pot. I just need to carry out my plan and see if it works. Glad I have inspired you to use yours a little more. I'm so sorry to hear about the COVID cases, I too hope everyone recovers easily and quickly. As for the vaccine, I have avoided them as much as possible for many years. I'll wait and see about this one.

Judith, yes, hubby is really enjoying being able to drive again. He raced down to check our mail at the Post Office this morning before I even got up. He he. It is good that he is in a happier frame of mind.

Brisbane has a case of the English COVID strain which is 70% more contagious than the first one that arrived from China, so we got put in strict lock down this evening. We cancelled a lot of arrangements we had made for this weekend and will stay home as much as possible. I have a feeling we will be in lock down longer than three days. People must think so too as they have already stripped the supermarket shelves.

My air fryer is part of the attachement to the Insta Pot I have. It is pretty small. If I were to make a large meal, I would need to do several batches of food. Since it is just my husband and I, it is a nice size. I will try to start using it more often and see how it works. Susan you have inspired me to try to find a place to put it that is easy to reach so I can use it more.

One of the ladies in my Bible study group just told us this week that her mother and now her son have covid. Two more members of her family are getting tested today to see if they also have it. My son and son-in-law have received and soon my daughter will be getting the co-vid vaccine. So far the side effects are mild - headache, arm pain and low grade fever. I am in the next group to be offered to get it. Many people are concerned with some of the components of the shot but I also know that for a vaccine to work, there has to be some sort of foreign item to cause the body to react to form antibodies. Do you ladies have any concerns?

Linda, I use my air fryer about as much as my crock pot. Sometimes more. I made space in a convenient cupboard for it so it isn't hard to get out. My crock pot is in a less convenient place. I must change that so I use it more. Glad you didn't hurt your hip! Do you have a treadmill or exercise bike you are allowed to use? How about an indoor pool?

Judith, I have cooked chicken pieces, homemade chicken nuggets, meatballs and steak in my air fryer so far. Hubby cooked bacon in it once but said it took too long. I plan to try some more recipes as my Daughter-in-law got me an air fryer cookbook for Christmas. I do like it. I like to make things a little crunchy so do add almond flour to the outside of my chicken pieces and steak.

Hubby is happy today. We went to his eye doctor and he was told he could drive again. After four months of healing and not driving, you can imagine how he feels. He has his independence back! Now we just need to get his other issues sorted out. He still is not well but a happier man is a man who feels better anyway.

Yes, I need to walk outside but the wind and cold has made it hard. I also was told to walk on flat surfaces but where we like to walk is too rocky and unsafe right now. I do walk on the patio and in the house but I need to do more. My hip is feeling fine today so I must have just tired it out and not damaged anything. It has been a month yesterday since the surgery. I am able to do much more in the house even since last week. Again, I do not want to do too much so today I am focusing on doing the laundry, getting groceries and visiting my mother-in-law.

Since we will be gone part of the day, I am making a crockpot meal for tonight. I will be nice to come home to a meal ready to eat.

Linda, I understand about wanting to exercise and going ahead anyway when you know you shouldn't, I have done the exact same thing but stopped immediately like you did when things started to hurt...I am glad you stopped, I encourage you to do some walking like your Doctor suggested, make each day an adventure by taking a walk and looking for the awesome nature and the beauty of our land God has provided for us, maybe see if you can find and name different trees and or birds you see on your outings, you combine learning and exercise together making it a fun outing...

Your Burgers sound yummy...

Linda you made a comment to Susan about having an air fryer but not using yours due to being so big to bring out all the time! Last year my daughter gave her husband an air fryer for Christmas, he had been wanting one for a long time and was thrilled to receive it. I think they have a corner of their counter where they leave theirs out which makes it easier to use..

Susan, do you enjoy yours? You mentioned cooking chicken, have you tried other recipes? I am sure you enjoyed your chicken you made!

My son in law has tried some of the recipes from the little recipe book the air fryer came with! How is Colin today? Trust he is feeling good and is stronger, my prayers continue..

Susan - I have an air fryer but do not use it often. It seems cumbersome to get it out of the cupboard to use. My daughter loves hers.

Last night I tried a new recipe for Black bean veggie burgers. It took a while for my husband to decide he liked them but in the end he was OK with it. He had in his mind that hearing the word "burger" meant there had to be ground beef in it. He kept saying I don't taste the beef. We will try them again and that time, I will make sure he understands that he should savor the vegetables in the burger.

We went to Planet Fitness yesterday and I tried to do upper body weight machines. I thought that when the doctor said to only walk as exercise, he meant do not over exercise the hip. I did not realize that doing upper body, there is also poundage pushing down on the lower body. I should have known that with my medical background but I guess I did not want to acknowledge it because I was so tired of not exercising. After about two repetitions of one weight machine, my hip started aching so I immediately stopped. I as feeling OK today so I did not injure anything but I an not going to do that again!

I'm thinking maybe hubby is just getting used to feeling the way he does and is getting on with things regardless. He still has the symptoms he has been battling since mid Dec.

It's very dark and stormy looking here this afternoon. I think we should get rain soon. I'm about to cook some chicken in the air fryer so will chat again later.

I do feel more rested today. it is amazing how much better a person feels when they get good sleep.

It is cold but sunny today. I hope to go exercise at Planet Fitness today. It will be a slow treadmill since my doctor will not release me to do more vigorous exercises for another two weeks.

i'm glad Colin is feeling a "fraction better". I hope this improves every day. Our bodies have their own healing time. I have a friend who had the same surgery I had two weeks prior to mine. She says she is thinking about getting her other hip replaced. I am not to that point that I would consider another surgery but who knows what two weeks will bring. I am not actually having problems with my other hip like I did this one. Having surgery or not will be in the far future I hope.

I got a late Christmas present from my friend who broke her ankle and has not been able to get out until yesterday. She gave me a cute fabric pinecone and a fabric Christmas basket. She also included some non-iced low sugar cookies which I ate way too many of. I need to get control of my portions!

Linda, I hope you can get a good sleep tonight. The weather here is cloudy, humid and warm. We've had a bit of rain lately which is great. We need water in the dams.

Thank you for your prayers, Judith. Praying for you too.

Quiet day today. Hubby seems a fraction better. I hope he continues to improve.

I am a little tired today - I had trouble sleeping last night. Hopefully tonight will be better.

Today is much colder than earlier in the week. Snow is predicted later this week but not much of a chance per percentage.

Praying for you all.

Linda, I love those things that remind me of my Mom too. She passed in 2018 and it still feels so fresh. I know she is safe in the arms of Jesus though.

Judith, thank you for your special prayers for us all. I continue to pray for everyone here too.

We have more health challenges to face with hubby. One day at a time, right? xxx

The Saturday blessing you posted, Judith, is beautiful. I hope the same for all of us.

I am not superstitious at all. I do not believe in luck. I believe that God has our lives planned out and will give us strength to go through what ever happens with his guidance. That being said, we had our traditional New Years dinner last night. I grew up with sauerkraut and pork (my aunt was very superstitious) and my husband grew up with black eyed peas. I am not fond of the peas so mixed them with other vegetables and broth. The sauerkraut brings back so many memories of growing up in Ohio. Every year my Mom had a huge garden and would make sauerkraut with her cabbage. It was a week long procedure then we would can it for future use. Eating the sauerkraut yesterday made me feel so close to my Mom. I miss her even though she has been gone for 12 years.

Our stimulus check was deposited in our checking account today. I know this will be a blessing to so many people who are behind on their bills because they have not been able to work. I have mixed feelings about this "free money" though. Eventually we will have to pay taxes on this as income so it is not really free. I know it will help the stores also by having people begin shopping also. This is a slippery slope to be depending on the government to keep us afloat.

Although today is just another day in the whole scheme of things, I am feeling hopeful about the new year. It is a time to reflect on the old year and make plans for the new one. I was talking to a friend today about how often we get ahead of what God has planned and we prayed we would be able to keep in step with Him rather than going ahead and miss blessings He has for us if we had just waited for his guidance.

Linda, I liked your plane and captain analogy!

Judith, may your New Year be full of blessings and may 2021 be a better year for you with your health too.

Thinking of you both and praying for you! God bless you!

Susan
