Sometimes all we need is the permission to muck it up sometimes, you know?

I try not to focus on the numbers at all. And when I fix up a goal about weightloss I add in a few weeks extra, figuring I'll get sick, I'll mess up, I'll trip on my weaknesses....My goal isn't to lose X amount of weight. It's to get healthier. It's to work out regularly and get more able to do more things for myself.

It may help to set different goals NOT related to a scale number. Like to work towards working out for 24 days, or something like that.

Thanks for the support!

After I made the decision to be kind to myself, I started losing again. Who knew??!!

Don't feel guilty about having to adjust your goals...we ALL have to adjust our goals, whether it's weight loss or any thing else we have going on in our lives. Just take it one day at a time, that is what keeps me going. I like to think about how the changes I am making now will benefit me in lets say...August (when my son's wedding is)...but frankly I don't know how much weight I will have lost by then and I have to focus on what I can control right now...today. Good luck on your journey to reaching your goals.

I started SP with the goal of losing 45 lbs. I lost 18 in the first 2 months and then hit a serious plateau. I am trying, but just can't get into the right frame of mind to get excited for major weight loss. Things are also super crazy at work right now. Usually when things get crazy at work, I get crazy at home - eating everything and gaining weight.

This time, I'm trying something different. I reset my calorie and exercise range to stay the same until the semester ends in May. Life gets a lot easier for me then.

The perfectionist in me feels guilty for making this decision, but the realist in me knows that staying the same is better than gaining, which I usually do.
