I finished this challenge. That last week is an ongoing thing, about setting and keeping long term changes.

I need to work on that a bit with my hubby, but the kids are doing decently. Our main issue is to find times when we are all home together. With my oldest in band and my middle son doing community service groups and my hubby at our shop it's insane.

BUT we LOVED having a walking challenge. LOL My teenager kicked our bums, he walked 12,000 steps two days. I was a little sad to record my numbers. I was lucky to break 5,000 steps. I knew anything more would be pushing myself too far though. I was so sore! We each put in a dollar and the one who walked the most won the pot. This month we will walk and turn our steps into miles to see where we can go. LOL

I am going to start making my husband's lunches 2-3 times a week. I think that will help him out a lot. The crap he eats at work is not good for him.

Even though we'd all ready made a lot of the changes this challenge called for I'm so glad that we did it. It really got us working as a team more.

In week one it was about reducing screen time (the amount of time spent in front of computers, phones, and TV). There was a family meeting about what sort of things we'd be doing to become healthier. And getting organized, like posting a weekly dinner menu in the kitchen and assigning kids chores on certain days.

In week 2 it's all about adding more whole grains to the dinner plates. Eating more fruits and veggies. And they ask you to makeover one family recipe in a healthier way.

I haven't made it to week 3 yet, but it looks like it's about encouraging movement and exercise.

There are optional goals too, to eat together as a family at least 3 meals a week, and to be active together as a family twice a week.

Everything is customizable though. Not everyone makes the same changes, it depends on what areas you'd like to focus on and what your family wants too.

Can one of you - or someone else - describe the types of "changes" this challenge encourages?

I moved into week 2 of this. So far it's changes I'd all ready made before but that we needed to re-instate. This week I need to work on putting more whole grains on their plates and in their meals. That's a hard one for me because beside brown rice and whole wheat I don't know much about grains, and we shop 3 weeks at a time and that shopping is all ready done. I'm doing what I can though.

I also saw a few of you did join too and hope it's going well for all of your families also!

I'm going to join this and try it out. I'll start it tomorrow. We all ready do most of what they're talking about (eating together) and I am a little concerned that any physical activity may be beyond what I can do right now...but it's for family, so it can't be too difficult and it's something I'd really like to work on.

I thought I'd post it here because some of you may be interested in taking a look. It's a 4 week program and they send you the goal you're supposed to work each week. It seems very basic.
