I'm addicted to points (and tracking my goals). I don't really know why - they hold no "real" value other than motivational, but they work!!

I was a little bummed yesterday because I just did not have the time to do more than log in, spin the wheel, and record my nutrition and fitness info (all those "lost" points...).

Oh well, today is another day!!

I am motivated by the points. I am an "old hat" on Sparks(been a member since 2007)... have tumbled a few times(due to life's pressure}but keep coming back. Anyways, a few of the times I told myself that I am not going to think about getting the points - I would just do what I have to do and get off. Guess what? That doesn't work for me.If anything, I feel less motivated! I "have" to do all that is laid out for me to do for the day and I figure that if I am going to do whats there to be done why not get the points for doing them anyways!!!

I'm really motivated by the points emoticon !

I figure that it's going to take a long, long time to lose the weight that I want to lose. Keeping motivated by playing the point game is a good strategy as long as I keep my eye on the ultimate goal - to be fit!

Love reading the posts here and for me I suppose the spark points are engaging and also it's relevent to keep awareness about what is really important up front and that is ...to live a healthy lifestyle.

The points have helped me explore the site a lot more than I might have, and educate myself on a wide variety of topics - I don't see it as being competitive with anyone else. At the end of the day, I check my sparkpoints page and can see that I didn't read an article, so I might go explore articles and try to read one on a topic that's interesting to me. Or I see that I still haven't made a visual collage, and I know that'll really inspire me, so I keep it in mind. (I'm collecting images now.) It is a good tool to keep us going! Have fun with it!

lol I'm sure I'll get to the point where it's not as thrilling to bounce around looking for points, but it's exciting now.

Too bad the points can't buy us real things or get us airline miles hahaha!

And, I'm not sure I can set minute goals lol, that sounds wild for sure!

But keep keepin on!

In the past when I've used SP I've been a points junkie, but I'm not even paying attention now. This isn't a game or contest. It's my life. I just get too competitive. I'd rather focus on what I can do and how well I can do it....how much better I can do it.... Than to always be comparing myself to how others are doing.

Some day I'd like to set minute goals, but that's not today. :)

Ha! I find myself scouring the site looking for new ways to get more points! It's sort of hilarious, but hey, someone was smart enough to think of them, to keep me motivated and going and searching and logging back in.

I also downloaded the Blackberry app for tracking my food, and I'm on my way to making my motivational collage too!!

Yay for goals and a community of support! Not trying to be negative, my first thought when I realized what this was all about, and I get to create my own profile, etc... I said, hey, omg! This is a "fat facebook" LOL, but we're not fat, we're on our way to Fit!! And the even better news is that they blocked facebook at work, but NOT SPARK PEOPLE, WOOT!!! LOL so now I have something to fill my free time at work ;)
