Did you find a buddy yet? I am looking for one too. My goal is to drop an initial 50 pounds, then TRY for another 20. I am new too, and I am not sure how the buddy system works, but everyone says it is important.

Hi, looking for a buddy. I am not athletic and more concerned with what I eat to lose weight and get healthier but trying to get motivated to be more physically active. I set my goal weight to lose 85 lbs but will be happy with losing 55 and being more toned and maintaining that as returning to a healthier lifestyle is my ultimate goal. If you think we might be a good fit to motivated each other to stay on track and keep going through our journey to better health send me a message through spark mail and we can chat about how we can help each other! Wow, spongeegirl, you have lost a lot of weight!!!
Congrats on getting back to it after a 5 pound gain! It's easy to ignore "the creep" after reaching a goal like you have.

I have a bunch to lose myself, but I have set my goal on the first 50 pounds and have given myself the year to accomplish this goal. I need to check in with others to help myself stay accountable. I am using Leslie Sansone's Two Mile Walk video to help me get started with fitness! Have a great day, all!

Hi there! I would love to be a Buddy as well! I am the type of person that has to check in with others to see how they are doing and be able to let them know how I'm doing with my fitness and nutrition. If I'm not accountable then I find I don't follow my guidelines. I originally started in 2009 but have been away from Spark since July. I'm looking to join again as I have gained back 5lbs and have fallen to the wayside with my nutrition and exercise.

I've just started as well and I need to lose about the same as well.

I'm thinking of doing the couch to 5k challenge however is it doable on a treadmill? (if so I may buy one at tax return time) because I'd feel silly run/walking outside (and in wool no less lol)

Hi! Happy New Year!!! I am on my second attempt on here, which will be my FINAL attempt. 2011 is my (our) year to do what I/We need to do to be who we are!!! I have about 75lbs that I need and want to loose. I have several reasons...(1) My husband and I would love to have a baby, which we have been trying to do and haven't had any luck....and (2) My oldest brother is getting married 11/11/11 ~ and I want to look amazing for his wedding (unless I loose enough weight and get pregnant in the meantime)...

Where are you located? I can always use a buddy too, so feel free to stay in touch!

Hey and welcome!!! I need to lose almost twice what you do, but I'm starting small LOL
I understand about getting bored and not being able to go to a gym. I'm in the same boat. Are you interested in the couch to 5k running training program? It's free, and there are a few of us starting next week!

I am a new member looking for a buddy to help keep me on track. I am willing to help also. I am 89 Lbs over weight and would like to lose it all. But I get bored exercising by my self and can't afford to go to a gym. So I need a buddy who can help. emoticon
