Thanks, Erin. Praying for you as you look for a new church.

Tamelarenee, I am praying for you to have some focus and see some good progress. It took me awhile to learn for myself that looking at the whole of what I needed to do was overwhelming and self-defeating. When I started realling giving focus to small changes I could make, I began to see progress and victory that helped to strengthen my overall effort. Look at what your overall desire is that you want to achiev, then find just two or three steps you can focus on taking toward that goal. Have the finish line in mind, but give focus to those small steps. As it becomes easier to do those steps, find two or three more to add to the journey while maintaining the ground you have gained. You will get there, here a little, there a little.

I am doing better today and looking forward to a good day! Thanks for the support and encouragement.

"My God's not dead, He's surely alive; He's living on the inside, roaring like a Lion!" (My God's not dead, David Crowder Band or The Newsboys).

BLESSings,
Darlene

I'm struggling to get back on track with Sparking. For the last few weeks all I've done is talk about what I need to do to get on track and each day I begin with good intentions but before I'm halfway through the day I'm eating the wrong things in excess, not tracking my food, not drinking my water and barely exercising. I am thinking that if I just keep logging in and spinning and huddling that this will pass but in the meantime I'm beating myself up as I eat. I think I am behaving like a crazy person, no I know I'm acting like a crazy person saying one thing and doing everything but what I know I should.

My old tracker here. I'll learn and adjust accordingly I may have lost 2 pounds at this point.

ABBY-JOY - I had the same problem! I finally told DH I wouldn't buy them any more and if he needed them, he had to eat them at work. I didn't want them in the house. But! While looking for a big paper clip the other day, I found his "stash" of candy bars and junk food in his desk drawer. I won't touch it but just knowing it's there makes me crazy!

I am struggling with having to make a decision on a new church separate from the one my husband goes to. It is within the same faith but many, many miles apart and totally different worship styles.

I am frustrated. I need to get the sweets out of my grasp, and I thought DH was going to help with that. He can handle them, I lose control. But it looks like he is just planning for them to go in another closet that is still within my grasp. I am just going to have to quit buying them for him because I know where the stash is. I hate that. I cater to him, his needs. It is in me to do that, and this feels like sending him to the closet with his sweets eating.

So glad of God's protection over you, Erin. Praying with you as your area recoups, and for God's healing in your body and strength for each day.

I have a lot to do and my organizational-bone appears to be broken with priorities bleeding out all over the floor. Plus waking too early this morning has me ready for a nap.

The pain that came just before the bad weather that hit the Heartland. I knew it was coming before it hit. I was totally locked up - couldn't even get down to the shelter. Dh went and I stayed in my recliner and prayed - BIG TIME! I heard the boards being ripped off our balcony and crash through the patio doors of an unoccupied unit (thank God). Very scary stuff. No one here died but there is lots of damage by us. I guess a trip to the lumber yard is in our future! LOL Boards can be replaced - people - not so much!

I have to get a chair to sit on when I'm at my desk. DH took mine when we moved and I have been using a hard card table chair and it really hurts my back. A girl has to get her Spark time in after all! LOL

I had TMJ for years and ended up getting braces as an adult and it completely went away! I knew it was raining before I even opened my eyes this morning. Every bone in my body hurt. Too much company for too long and now rain and that will keep me out of commission for today. Tomorrow I have to clean the house though.

Praying for you, shortnshapely, to not only get enough calories, but the right mix to accomplish the goal.

We are having internet issues. Very frustrating and a hindrance to my participation on Spark.

Ange, I am amazed at how much I can get in with minutes of waiting moves. Waiting for the micro wave: walk laps, have weights at hand and do some strength training; talking on the phone, walk while doing so. Hope you find some things that help you get more in.

One important thing I have learned is to limit the number of teams. Too many teams just adds time on the computer and decreases success in doing what we are here for. Find a few good teams you enjoy and participate in them. Drop the rest of them. Some may be teams you check in on every day, others, just once each week. Also setting time limits helps. I usually try to do my food tracker for the day, spin and say hello on my status and on my main teams in the morning. The rest of the day I check in on breaks to check on threads I am subscribed to, etc. You will figure out what works for you. Just hang in there. Try different things to keep up, such as some people just use the weekly digest to decide what to check in on in the teams, while others prefer to subscribe to threads of interest. Hang in there. You will figure it out. Oh, and get picky about the threads you subscribe to. You don't have to do everything on every team. If it is not of particular interest or something that will help with your goals, don't do it.

Praying for you, Pips. If it happens again, you might want to take you Blood Pressure to be sure that running is not putting you near stroking.

I'm new to this team, but I'd say my biggest challenge today is getting a crazy headache when I run. I am about 240 lbs and so when I exert myself I get a headache in my left temple (my left) I don't want it to be a discouragement, so I just took some rapid release aspirin and now I'm doing better. By golly though, I got that running done :)

I think (but don't know for sure because I'm not regular) that I'm dealing with PMS. I even set myself up for success. But I'm not doing well. I had a binge today (mexican food and chocolate). I'm really hoping for a better week this week.

That's some really cool observations and problem solving, Christy. Glad to have you here with us.

Today I struggle with this earache that started yesterday. I am feeling it more, but still not worthy of an ER visit, so praying I can make it until tomorrow and that I can get in with my doctor then.

Hoping everyone is having a glorious Sunday!

Lajoia I struggled with that on Friday! I realized it was because I was bored with the tasks I was doing at work because I was NOT hungry haha! And I'm trying to avoid eating anything at all--even if it's healthy, if I'm not hungry!
What worked for me was to turn on some good background music that I really enjoyed, helped take my mind off of it and I made myself some unsweetened hot tea-- preparing the tea gave me a mental break too and something comforting to sip on while I was doing my work. It did the trick!

Lajoia, hope your day got better. I just started doing the 6 small meals a day, spreading my calories out more evenly though the day and it is amazing how much better my appetite is with much less desire to munch all day.

Thanks, Nancy.

Hugs all!

Good morning, Ladies. Just running by to let you know you are in my prayers before I get busy here. It is a pretty day out with little wind, so I must get the shopping done. I have a bit of a scratchy through that is causing an occassional little cough. Hopefully it is just the dust we have been eating the past few days with the high winds. It is supposed to be windy again tomorrow, so must get the shopping done. Hopefully I will have enough energy left to make Prayer meeting tonight. Will see. Hugs to you! Darlene.

Oh, BTW! DH's meeting went really well yesterday and all is good. Thanks for praying.

Good morning, all. Hope you have a great day ahead.

I am really tired today, feeling like my body is under attack--like I am trying to come down with something. But I am getting some things done each day toward being ready for DD1 and family in just a couple of weeks. It is so exciting. And yes, we give God all the glory and are in awe at His provision for them--so obviously at His hand.

Please join me today in prayer for DH. He goes this morning to discus an issue with the lady over his department. Not only are they not meeting his department's need for clarical help, but they are adding to their work load by making deals with high schools in other small towns for them to go help teach their students. Johnny understood there would be added income for the instructor doing this "satalite" program, and now they are saying there will not be. He and his assistant already spend 12hr days and can't keep up, and now they want to send one of them out to satalite sites. Plus the set up at the high shcools does not even meet educational standards for safety, much less osha (sp?). So he will be addressing that and what their liability is in the situation where student's health is threatened, not to mention the instructors. Ugh, and he just got word that they are going to require him to put his attendance into their CAMs program. When he sent their info to the lady over that program--the CAMs expert--for her to show them how to do that, she could not even figure it out. So that will be on the agenda for this meet as well. Thanks for praying with me. The meeting is at 10:30 AM CST.

Running by to wish all a great first of a great new week. My throat feels better, necks not soar, but just feel yuck, like my body is coming down with something. But I am going to finish February strong. I am just minutes away from my 500 min goal and I am going to do my best to get there. Hope you all are planning a great week. Have a blessed today and live mighty "nows". Hugs!

Today I went over my calories. Not a lot, but this weekend was a tough one and I ate more than I should each day.

I also had to pull rank on an Activity Chair at the gun club. We had a new member orientation today and also last weekend. This Activity Chair went overboard on giving his range talk last weekend while on the walking tour of the ranges. Many complaints and comments about him, since it took up 25 minutes and only 5-7 minutes is needed to cover the basic rules for this range. This week I went on the walking tour and when the group got to his range, I pulled him aside and said 5-6 minutes and we move on, period. It was cold, just over 20 degrees and windy and this is a 2 mile hike. He wasn't happy with me or the the limitations I wanted him to impose on his spiel. It was pretty obvious that I was timing him, and he did hurry it up, but after 6 minutes I interrupted him, and he said he was almost done. I gave him another few minutes, and when he paused to take a breath, I jumped in and told the group we were moving on. And so off we went. I feel bad about treating someone that way, especially in front of new members, but he has been asked, told politely to keep it down to 5-7 minutes for several years now. I got many thank you's from members that were on the tour with us, but I still don't feel great about what I did even though many were cheering me on.

I have a throat issue going on today. Looks infected and is swollen, the glands on each side of my neck hurt. Guess it is a doctor's visit for me. Which means figuring out who to go to. The doctor we have used the last 20 years has something going on in his life that has him too often unavailable, and they are apparently trying to protect his client load by refusing us to use one of his partner doctors when he is unavailable. So we tried a doctor closer to home. I am just not sure about them. They are younger, and it is just so hard to break in new doctors. So I am just running by to say howdy.

Have a blessed Sunday. HUGS, Darlene

I am having a good day today so far. We got new drapes in yesterday and got them on the rods. They look so good and are the thermal backed, so they block some light when we want and hold the weather outside. DH is moving the rod up on the Patio door. These drapes are longer than the others.

Hope you all have a blessed weekend. SMILE! Sunday's coming.

Thanks, Penni. Hello, ladies. Sory I have been kinda MIA today. I set my goals for the day and have been busy getting things done. Did pretty well, including 2 walks with the dogs today, but still not doing well with the anti-sweets goal. Absolutely lost it today. But will try again tomorrow. I am relosing some pounds and want to be back down to 163 by end of month. Have a blessed night and a glorious tomorrow. HUGS
