I am so happy for you! It means that you are an amazing teacher, keep doing an amazing job of teaching them the new stuff. You should think about buying economics term paper at termpapernow.com/articles/bu

for them. I think that they will be amazed by its quality.

I love the subjects and love learning - but I could learn and study and share information about my subjects with others without teaching them - so for me the reason I teach is the kids.

I agree and someone mention the BEST reason we teach - I would argue that for many of us, the kids are the ONLY reason we teach - there are certainly better paid jobs, jobs with better benefits and more respect, but teaching allows us to borrow and help shape the lives of these precious beings who one day will be the future of our nation. I teach ONLY because I love my kids - each and every ornery, problematic, loveable, disruptive, fidgety one of them.

Patti...I can see why! You make great connections with your kids and impact them so strongly.

If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results.

My heart sang yesterday when a student said, "Ms. B. you're like my second mom." Then a few others chimed in with a, "Me, too!" I am blessed.

It's the best reason we teach.

Every year my husband and I have a large open house during the Christmas season.. and I always invite my students, as well as everyone else we know.. usually 150 people show up at one point or another, sometimes more. What is fun is that my FORMER students start getting in touch around Thanksgiving time to ask what day the party will be... I do so look forward to it.

And the funny things... I have kids now in grad school who will still run their papers by me for comment... it's a lifelong commitment, I think.

Yes, they make me happy, even when they infuriate me!

I've been teaching for 24 years and MY students both past and present are STILL MY students... My kiddos from my very first class are in their 30's with families/careeers etc... yet I still hear from the majority of them on a fairly regular basis... I was their 3rd grade teacher! It's the same with so, so, many of the kids I've had in class since then, even my middle and high school students!! I am absolutely BLESSED by and with the students GOD has blessed me with throughout the years.... we become a TEAM....

Can't imagine how teachers who DON'T connect with students are able to stay in the classroom....

I love the statement about when they stop being OUR kids it is time to STOP teaching - I can give you details about each and every one of the students - not only in my class but in the entire school - maybe not every NAME but details that reach to their hearts.

emoticon My thought: Whne students stop being 'your kids', it's time to stop teaching...That's my rule of thumb...Still have quite a few years to go...They're all 'my kids'...past & present emoticon

I know how you feel about YOUR kids. My first year of teaching was my 5th grade class of 75-76. I often wonder where they all are now...and the gazillion since.

Today I was out in the hall between 1st and 2nd blocks, when one of my former students (last semester) walked by. He was the first person other than my husband to notice I'd lost weight, and asked how much more I'd lost. When I told him I was down 22lbs, he gave me a big "whoop whoop" complete with hand motions. What a great confidence booster!

My kids really are my kids....all 1500+ of them over the past 11 years.
