Great post, Ray.

I have found that returning to the habit of exercise is one of those strange things...sorta like physics...a body in motion, tends to stay in gets easier every day!

Another excellent and thought provoking post - thank you emoticon

Smile .... it makes people wonder what you're up to ;-)

It is far easier to MAKE time to exercise than it is to FIND time to exercise. You want results???? MAKE it happen.

Keep trying - you CAN do it - believe in yourself!

First you make your habits, and then your habits make you.

Break those habits that can break you. Adopt those practices that will become the new habits that will help you achieve the success you desire.

Your habits are a form of exercise. The harder you work at something, the harder it is to quit. The easier it is to do, the harder it is to change.

Your habits are either the best of servants or the worst of masters. You are what you repeatedly do.

I recall, before I started this new lifestyle that I was a professional Couch Potato... not that I have anything against potatoes, but I had no ambition! I had no desire to do anything. I was getting weaker by the day and the weight was going higher and higher! (330 lbs at my heaviest!) I would come home from work, Drink my 2 litre of Coke and eat chips until supper, eat supper then resume snacking while watching tv. I hated my life and I really didn't know what to do about it because this was the lifestyle I was used to! Then came the Doctors Ultimatum... You must lose 1/3 of your body weight or I give you about 6 months to live!

I decided to change my outlook... I had to change my lifestyle!! I was sent on weightloss courses, I was sent on nutrition courses, physio therapy, acupuncture, acupressure, herbal healing, Now Diabetic courses, how to eat how to live how to how to how to... I felt I was at Home Depot or Rona in the How to section but you know, I'm thankful for everything that I found out! As you know... Knowledge is Power! I found a new dietician, a new trainer, physiotherapist, naturopath, and most of all I found out about Spark People!

Couch potato no more! I'm alive! I'm loving life now... With this Diabetes get me down??? I THINK NOT! Just another hurdle to get over to reach my goal!

How have I changed... The lifestyle includes lots of exercise, lots of research, learning something new every day, Meeting new friends, touching bases with old friends! Meal planning, eating right, movement, motivational speaking, the list goes on! Not bad for a former Couch Potato...

My diabetic numbers have come down to under 7.0 most of the time, My blood pressure is in the normal range all the time now and boy do I feel great!

There is an incredible feeling that comes over you when you accomplish what you set out to do! I've accomplished many of my mini goals... and now I must press on! I will lose the rest of my weight and get to my 200 pound goal!

I want to feel good all the time! and, day by day I'm getting stronger! (One small step at a time!)
Nothing is going to get in the way of this couch potato!

There's only one way from here and that's UP!

Now I must challenge all of my friends...

Get up... get fit... eat right and get your life back!!
you deserve it and... you guessed it... YOU'RE WORTH IT!
