I went to church this evening and there was almost no one there. One of the families had a graduation party for one of the girls and someone exposed them. The whole group that was at the party are doing a home quarantine. This is an extended family with the parents, their adult children, grandchildren and inlaws.

Guam may take a step back because we have had some more cases.

I am doing okay but tired of the restrictions.

Do stay safe and well.

Had a few small get togethers in friends yards with social distancing. A birthday party in a restaurant as well. Still being cautious. Got results back from CT scan, a hernia, cyst on my liver, and they can't rule out Metastatic disease. I am hoping that is just a disclaimer. Another scan in my future I think. Have not heard anything from my new Oncologist. Not sewing masks anymore for a while, madesome cards yesterday for my fellow Cancer patients, now to work on the house, and myself.

Mo, glad you had a good time even if you cut it short. Glad you got out of the thunder storms. Day trips sound wise and safe.
Sorry you are not going to get with your family but waiting for awhile sounds like a good idea.
I am sorry to hear about your friends.

Guam has had few new cases of the virus until the Air Force sent a unit here on TDY. Now there are 35 cases from one unit that were billeted in our hotels. They did not observe orders and went out so we are not sure how many Guam residents have been exposed. They are all quarantined on Andersen Air Force Base now. Needless to say I have been angry with the way things were handled.
When the USS Theodore Roosevelt was here Guam helped with the billeting of those who were negative and if anyone tested positive they were taken to the Naval Base for quarantine. The sailors were also to stay in their rooms during the time they were in the hotels.

It is lovely weather here and if it does not rain tonight I may have to water some of my plants tomorrow.
I am using my cane in the house now but I think I will take the walker when I go out tomorrow.

God is still on His throne!

Had a good time at the lake with friends, but we decided to scrap the tent camping idea and go to the motel since it was sweltering hot and thunderstorms were in the forecast. The storms didn't come until today, and they are calling for more tomorrow so we decided to come home a day early. We were beat anyway that combination of sun, water and activity takes it's tole on people our age. Since the virus still seems to be a factor, we have decided that anymore "vacation" will be day trips, golfing and boating. Sure do miss seeing grandchildren though, we usually get together more in the summer, and our son and his family were supposed to be here from Okinawa this coming week. Of course that got canceled, I don't want to have them planes anyway, but we are disappointed. Our daughters would have come home if Josh had come and we would have had a house full. emoticon Maybe in the Fall. The garden is doing well and will be coming on soon so that will keep us busy too.

Pray everyone is doing well. Unfortunately, I have 2 more friends that have been diagnosed with cancer, it's getting depressing. Praise the Lord they are both saved. Have a good week, Ladies.

Mo, camping is not my forte. I have spent too many days after a typhoon with no power, cleaning, washing clothes in the bath tub, etc., to consider camping fun. I will go because others really like to and it is a way of being with them. Hope you have a great time.
Glad you have your internet back.
Praise God your heart is doing okay.
I love snap peas. Great your garden is growing well.

I had lunch with my Tuesday Lunch Bunch and then went to my health insurance office to get some things straightened out. I was there over an hour and the young man will have to call me after he makes some calls stateside tomorrow morning. I have been sent checks that I have no idea why and bills that are the same. Also, the insurance company does not have a contract with my urologist so I get billed, pay it and then have to submit a reimbursement request.
Guam has had few people show signs of the virus so gyms, daycares and other establishements are opening. We are also getting people in from the Phillipines and Japan who are going into automatic 14 day quarentine at a hotel.

Stay safe everyone.

Just checking in. Enjoying the beautiful weather, praying for all the violence in the country, and getting ready to take a couple days vacation. I think we are going to take the boat and golf clubs and go 2 hours north of here, and go camping for a couple of days. We haven't been camping in a tent for years, and I still am not sure we won't end up in a hotel, but with the virus I'm a little uneasy about doing that. We'll see, I don't do well with campfire smoke so I'm hoping since we will be there during the week and not the weekend that it won't be packed and few fires.

Our internet was down for a couple of days, turns out the router was bad so it didn't cost me a service call fee since it was their equipment. Now I am going through putting all the devices on the wifi since we have a new password.

My heart monitor didn't show anything new so for the time being I will continue with the same meds. I already had an appointment with the electrophysiologist scheduled for mid July so I will get more details on what it showed and talk to him about my options.

Garden is growing well, picked sugar snap peas for supper, YUM.

Take care ladies.

Cheri Ann, great that you are able to sew. I have not for years partially because I cannot get my sewing machine to work correctly.
Hope the doctors get your aches and pains figured out and it is not serious.
Sorry about the demostrations, especially sorry they are talking about defunding the police. Going back to the old west is not a good idea.
Hope your DH will go to a cookout at your brothers.

Today has been a very quiet day although I
did get a load of laundry done.

God is still on His throne!

Laura , I hope there is some improvement in your leg and back.

Jane, hoping the same for you, and that the hands are doing well.

Mo, glad you are staying active.

I am sewing again. Sending masks to Indian Reservation and then I will stop and start organizing my house. I got the results of my CT Scan, but seems I have a cyst on my liver, they cannot ruled out metatastic disease, and I have another hernia. They may want to do an MRI. We will see what happens next.

Things have settled down a bit in my city, but they are having another demonstrations Saturday to defund the police. Lunacy!

I have had a couple get togethers in driveways, and in a couple weeks my brother has invited us to a cook out. We will see if I can get my DH to go with me.

I hope you are all doing well!!

Laura, sorry to hear your leg and back are giving you pain. Hope they clear up.
I think a lot of what is going on is everyone has been in lock down and are reacting violently to the news and the media is not helping.
YES, WE ALL MATTER!!!

I had the third Hyalgan shot in my left knee today. Before he gave me the shot the doctor took 9 cc of fluid from the knee. At one point it really hurt.
On the way to the clinic my left hand froze up so the fingers could not move and it really hurt. The nurse gave me a hot compress that helped some although the fingers were moving by then. I have had this happen before but not as long as today.

I stopped at our local Denny’s for lunch after the shot. They have been closed and are now open under some restrictions like only half the tables in use, nothing on the table like ketchup, sugar, salt or pepper. You can ask for them and the server will bring them. When I asked for another cup of hot water I was brought a fresh cup with the water.

Do be careful.

Hi everyone;
Sorry i was not here for awhile.Been dealing with a lot ofr leg and back pain lately. Makes it hard to exercise. I made an appointment to see the nurse practitioner on Tuesday. I will be going on the senior bus then.

Things seem to be getting worse in our country. Is it time for people to realize that all lives matter not just black ones.

Cheri Ann, our nation really needs the prayers. I wish the “news” media would stop inflaming what is going on.

I had chemo on Thursday and a Hyalgan shot in the left knee on Friday. I see the urologist next Thursday which is a little over a week so get lab work tomorrow.

CT scans are no fun. Hopefully the mole is nothing.

I do not have a problem with people coming together to protest that wrongs that have occurred as long as they do not use it as an excuse to riot.

Your driveway get togethers sound fun.

Take care and stay safe.

How is everyone doing? So stressful right now, looting almost every night around here with mandatory curfews the last 4 nights. Praying big time for our country.

Did you have your chemo Jane? How are you doing?
Mo, how are you?

I had my CT Scan yesterday. Am allergic to the contast so I need to take meds beforehand. Tomorrow I see dermatologist for suspicious mole.

Praying good comes out of all this protesting and rioting somehow. So many people hurting, but coming together as well.

Stopped sewing, organizing my house right now. Last of my Bible study tonight for a bit. So glad, it was a bit intensive. I have so many of my own books to read!

I have 2 driveway get togethers with friends this week. Will be a nice diversion.

Cheri Ann, you sure are busy. Glad you are able to make the masks to help others.
Do be careful about sunburns.

I have chemo tomorrow. This is the first one in about seven weeks because I canceled when I was having so much trouble walking because of my knees. I am supposed to have them every month. I will go in with the walker because my knees, especially the left one is really bothering me.

Stay safe.

I have been sewing most of the weekend. Trying to get a box of masks shipped to an Indian Reservation. We went out on Sat and signed a petition to recall our Gov, we social distanced, and talked to friends. When I got home I realized that even though it was cloudy, I got sunburned badly. Sun we put masks out to take, but I sat outside to watch when I wasn't digging weeds. A little more sun on my feet and legs, I had on a hat though. Did some Bible study on the porch. Yesterday I stayed in and sewed all day. Today I have a few errands. I need to call first and ask about my allergy shot. I am having a CT scan next week and I am allergic to the dye so they will premedicate me- I need to see if I should wait until after the procedure. I am a bit nervous. I also have an appointment coming up for a suspicious looking mole on my shoulder blade. Will probably sew the rest of the day after hopefully picking up sewing machine oil and oiling my machine, and then am only doing children's masks for a bit except for any requests.

Good to hear from you and good that you have gotten out and yet stayed safe.

A friend sent me some pictures of what a company is doing in NYC that is delightful. I tried to post pictures but could not so I am giving you the name so you can google what they did.

Jane, sorry to hear your knees are still hurting, will continue to pray for you.

DH and I are doing well. I put the heart monitor in the mail on Sat, it was an active 2 weeks as far as irregular heartbeat so they will have a lot of info. Hopefully not anything new or worrisome as long as I keep taking the blood thinner. Funny, I can feel in skipping etc. , but I never get any shortness of breath, chest pains, or faintness. We'll see what they say.

Hope everyone is doing OK, and have some special activity planned to celebrate the holiday. DH and I have already been out and played Pitch and Putt golf and I WON!!! We are going to plant the garden, and then go to a friend's house for a SMALL gathering picnic. We will be outside and stay away from each other, but at least we will do something besides stay at home.

Stay healthy and remember the Lord is still on His throne.

My retired fireman son, urged me to keep my cell phone on me even in the house with my knee problem. I am going to ask the clinic to send someone out with a wheelchair tomorrow because walking in and then up and down the hallways is more than I can deal with.

So sorry to hear this! I hope you can get some relief.
My daughter sent a nice card. I need to run a card for my Mom over to her house and put it on the back porch. Wed is her 85th birthday, and my sister's birthday as well. We are having a birthday parade past the house and the fire department Dad used to be Chief of is supposed to come as well. The street is a super busy one, so pray no accidents or ill tempered people.
I see my new Cancer dr Thurs. My daughter sees her heart dr finally on Tues.
I ran a bunch of masks to my Vet's office yesterday. I was given a bag of pillowcases for masks. I will finish those, then I will rest for a bit and work on my house and myself. I will make sure I have a small stash here in case someone needs one, but no mass production.

I got up before five this morning to go get the lemon juice I was not able to get last time. I ended up shopping and got home a little after six.
Things were fine until about nine and then my left knee gave out! It is hurting like the right one did before I got all the shots. Don’t know how I would walk if both knees were the same. I called the clinic I am having the shots at and have an appointment at ten Monday morning to see the screening doctor. Hopefully she will allow a shot to alleviate some of the pain as I am using a walker right now as I would need two canes to walk.

Not the best of days for me. So glad I have had this walker.

Mo, glad the biggest need is a hair cut. My cardiologist has me wear a monitor for 24 hours. What would two weeks do? How do you bathe?

On Sunday, Mothers Day, Guam will go to a less restrictive environment as far as COVID-19 goes. The Malls will open, retail stores, beauty salons, barber shops, nails, etc. No in dining at restaurants or fast food places but take out allowed and more restaurants are opening.
People will need face masks and observe social distancing. No gatherings of more than ten people.
Our governor is a RN and I think she has also been watching what other states and counties have done as well as the sailors on the USS Theodore Roosevelt so we will be taking things very slow.

I got my fourth shot in the knee today and find I am walking better with less pain especially if I keep the knee warm.

Hope your weather is good. I know there is snow in some places! Is this really May?
I would like to go look at the waves but everything is blocked off unless you can walk for a block or two.

Jane

Good Morning Ladies,
Everything is going well here, except I could really use a haircut, but if that's the worse that happens who cares. Sent several Ecards out for Mother's Day this morning, and going to do some cleaning later on.

I had a Tele Med conference with my cardiologist yesterday. He has agreed to a 2 week monitor and gave me an order for my annual bloodwork, but suggested I wait awhile before having it done.

Cheri Ann --praying for your daughter.

Keep healthy

Our medical facility here is not allowing others to come in with us. I am getting shots in the knee and if I has someone with me they would have to wait in the car.

Take care.

Connie is doing pretty well with her meds. The Nitro is still making her sick, but she is learning to deal with it.

I am still making masks for my poor Hispanic Neighborhood. They just take what they need. So I am pretty much sewing for hours daily. I need to create a schedule so I don't burn myself out.

Connie sees her heart Dr. on the 12th and I see my new Gyne Oncologist on the 14th. No one can come in with me, which makes me sad. My parents are still in seclusion and doing well. I will try and be more of a presence here. I am just sewing an awful lot right now - I am sure that will decrease when all of the material is used up, but that will be a few weeks at least.

Laura, sorry you are having a rough time. Our church ladies is starting an accountability partner program when we call each other and see how she is doing. I have had ladies call and ask me if there are things I need that they can get for me because I am the oldest church member and I do have some health issues.

Cheri Ann, all we can do is put our children in God’s loving hands. Good to hear there is a support group for your daughter. We do not have things like that here or at least I am not aware of them.

The nurse who poked for my lab work really made me bleed. What is interesting is I have not been taking any blood thinners or even low grade aspirin because of the shots in the knee. I hope I do not have to face her again. The day of my appointment my doctor will call me and we will conference over the phone so I do not need to go in. Not sure how I feel about that so we will see.

I finally contacted the urologist and now have an appointment for the end of May. Originally it had been made for August so the two doctors compromised.

I am His child and He is my King of kings!

Connie is home, the Nitro pills they have her taking make her ill, with a screaming headache. She is busy lining up Dr appointments and learning. She has signed up for a support group. Pray I can have peace about her living alone. She says she will be ok. Jesus, help me to have faith that you have her in the palm of your hand.

Cheri Ann sorry to hear about your daughter. Sorry I was not on here for a while. This shut down has been hard on us in all ways. We had a few spats as well and admitted to each other we are taking it hard. Miss being in church and on the senior bus for shopping. Food is more expensive in the local grocery store.

Blessing is that my food money was increased and I finally got my stimulus money.

My daughter Connie took herself to the ER this morning, it seems she had a heart attack. They are doing more testing today...please pray. She had a small blockage, so small that they would do more damage removing it, than leaving it alone. EKG today. Please pray.

Cheri Ann, I miss the fellowship of meeting with believers.

Today I listened to the pastor of the church in Portland, OR, that I like to attend when I am there.

Our governor extended our lockdown to June 1st. The road blocks will end tomorrow. And we will slowly start adding things to what we can do. Some of this will depend on if more people come down with the virus. We have not had any new cases for a few days and areas that they were concerned about are not showing any symptoms.
I wanted to go down to the ocean the other day but it is blocked off. If I could walk a couple of blocks I could park and get down there but not with this knee at this time.

I do not think I will go stateside this year because I do not want to be put in quarantine when I return.

God is still on His throne and I am his child!

We do our worship and sermon online here, but it just felt off this morning. Hopefully a small nap will help. It's beautiful out, but means that lots of dogs will be out today since it's later in the afternoon. Maybe later we will take the dog out.

Mo, glad you have had some nice days and gotten outside. Getting a suntan sounds encouraging.
Sorry about the irregular heartbeats. I know I was concerned for me and relieved the doctor did not think they were a concern.

It is just past sundown here on Sunday. It has rained a lot off and on today. We have needed it.
Heard from another SP person that she had the shots that I am getting and it really helped her.
I listened to a good sermon from my church this morning. Our deaf people were there and and someone signed for them. I am sure there were less than 10 people in the building as that is what we are required to do at this time.

Stay well and safe, this will pass.

We FINALLY have sunshine, and amazingly 2 days in a row!! Taking full advantage, weeding flower gardens and DH got all my big pots out and filled them with dirt. I'm all ready, bring on the plants and seeds!

Cherri Ann--PA is still locked down too, but supposedly on May 8 some of the businesses will open with some restrictions (mask etc) I wish everyone was more compliant and followed the rules, then most things could open. Our church has stayed open, but few people go, we all watch online, and the ones that do go about 10-15 people spread out mostly younger people. Everyone is getting restless.

Jane---I have a routine visit with the cardiologist in 2 weeks for my irregular heart. Don't know if they are doing in office visits or just telemed. I get the skipping several days per week for an hour or so, but haven't had the tachycardia. I'm hoping he will order a 2 week monitor for me, and maybe I can get off the blood thinner and back to an aspirin.

Well ladies I'm going to eliminate some weeds and get a suntan emoticon Stay healthy.

Cheri Ann, if there are a lot of new virus cases you governor may not have had a choice.
All of the sailors on the USS Theodore Roosevelt have finally been checked and some rechecked. There are over 800 cases from the ship. Some have just shown up. Guam has had several days with no new cases but had two yesterday. Our governor wants to keep some of the quarantine until the end of May but hopefully some restrictions will be lifted.

I am sorry to hear about the postponements of medical treatments and your friends who are having a really tough time.

I saw the cardiologist this morning. He does not seem concerned about the irregular heart beat. He did say that the ablation I had a few years ago has made my heart stronger. We also talked about what I was eating and I told him about the frozen vegetables, low sodium chicken broth and chicken stew/soup I have been making. He was pleased.
I had the second shot of Hyalgan gel in my knee this morning and found I could walk in the house without the cane for a very short time.
Hopefully by the fifth shot I will be able to walk without pain although I will use the cane when outside for balance.

Take care and stay safe.

UPDATE: Gov extended Quarantine until the end of May! Will there be any businesses left at the end of this?? Argh!

Mo- So sorry about your friend. Have a friend. Myself that just came home on hospice. he is breathing a bit better, but he's in bad shape. Such a scary time for cancer patients..some treatments postponed as well as Dr appointments. Scans, etc it's disconcerting.

Mo, I hope the weather improves very soon. Sounds like you will have winter then summer with no spring.
Guam is required to wear masks when out. I do not when by myself and outside but I do when in buildings.
Japanese have worn face masks for years when they go out and are not well. I think it is a good idea and probably will continue it also.
Sorry your DH is antsy. Hope getting outside will improve things for both of you.
Very sorry about your friend, Linda. Death is hard and really hard at this time.

Cheri Ann, you sound busier now than when you were working.

I go in tomorrow for the second shot of gel in the knee. I hope to be able to walk more soon. It has been really hard with my knee hurting so much.
I will also see the cardiologist tomorrow. Not sure what he will say about my irregular heart beat. This has been going on for a few weeks. My heart will beat and then pause and then will continue and the pause. I am sure the heart monitor picked this up last week.

God is good!

So I am failing at my quest to work out consistently. I just finished creating cards for healthcare workers at the hospital for our Cancer Care "Giving Back Society ". I am making masks, weekly meetings online with my Bible study, tried a Zoom meeting w/siblings, need to get busy as nd schedule one with my parents and siblings. So I am still crazy busy!!
I am walking the dog, and getting a Leslie Sansone workout in when I can. I need to add in strength training.

Stay safe everyone!

How is everyone doing? If the weather would get nice I’d be out in my flower gardens and taking walks, but we have had 20 degrees below average temperatures and LOTS of high winds. I did get my seeds to start plants for the veggie garden, so come on sunshine!!

I’m still trying to perfect a cloth mask that is as comfortable to wear as the blue dusk mask that I have. Here in PA we are required to wear them, something I did anyway, and I plan on continuing to do it when out in crowded places so I need to keep working on that or find some dust mask to buy.

Otherwise things are going well here. DH is getting antsy, but an improvement in the weather will help him too. Please pray for my friend Linda and her family. She is almost to the end of her cancer journey, and we won’t be able to have a normal funeral so it’s going to be hard.

Take care all.

Mo, keeping things as normal as possible is a good idea. It does seem the elderly are the ones most affected with this virus.
How delightful to be able to hear your GD sing.
How is Okinawa doing as far as the virus goes. I have not heard except for China, Korea, Japan and the Philippines.
Glad you have clippers for your DH’s hair. I stopped using hair dye years ago.

My back is hurting over my right kidney. I do hope it is not serious.

My favorite verse to my favorite hymn:
My sin—oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!—
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

Happy Resurrection Sunday to all of you.

Even though it was only DH and myself, I cooked our traditional Easter dinner. I'm trying to keep things as "normal" as possible.

There are about 800 confirmed cases in the county where I live, but for everyone that is confirmed there are many more milder ones out there. According to the one local large healthcare system,( University of Pittsburgh) we are close to our peak and never did get the surge like New York, something to be thankful for. There have been 20 deaths, all people over 65 and most were in nursing homes.

Guess we are all praising the Lord for technology. Not only have we been watching our church services online, but we were able to watch our daughter and 10 yr old granddaughter sing for their church's Good Friday service. Just like most proud grandparents we sent the link to ALOT of our friends (have to brag a little), but they did a really nice job. The granddaughter has a mature voice for her age and does musical theatre. We also do Facetime with our son and family in Okinawa which is a blessing.

I heard on the news that hair clippers and hair dye are the latest things to be disappearing off the shelves. We have a set of clippers so I guess DH won't get too shabby looking, but wouldn't you know it I don't have an extra box of dye in the cupboard like I usually do. Maybe the next time I venture out for groceries I will see what shades are left. Maybe I'll become a platinum blonde or a bright redhead emoticon Add a little excitement to all this boredom.

Praying everyone stays healthy.

Cherri Ann, someone here said she is using ace bandages cut in narrow strips for elastic bands. Also the loops used to make pot holders are soft and good too.

Mo, our governor is enforcing the masks as well as stores. She is having roadblocks with police and National Guard manning them.

A friend, who is a flight attendant, was called by Public Health and told to self isolate because someone on a flight he worked has tested positive. Hawaii is allowing flight crews to go to the hotels the company is using so they can rest and then return home. Few passengers are on the flights but mail, medical things and food are being brought to the island.

I did a lot of sleeping today. Hope I can sleep tonight.

Hope everyone stays well.

I live an hour away from Chicago, so we have 4 deaths and hundreds of confirmed cases. People are still not being wise. They just instituted a limit on how many people can be inside of "big box" stores, only 50 at once,so there are long lines waiting to get in. I will wait until after Easter to do any shopping.

I was able to talk to my daughter on the phone the other night, she was still working at 7PM,
but she was taking a break so we got to talk..she is so tired. I may try to do a zoom meeting Sun night with her and my siblings.

Still waiting for my elastic to come so I can finish masks. Tomorrow I will do some work on the office and some light cleaning. Have a blessed Easter everyone! HE IS RISEN!!

Jane we have some young people that I seen on bikes today when I walked. And I always hear some cars going back and forth.

Mo and CheriAnn no one around here is wearing masks or gloves either. I have some but I wore regular gloves instead when i handled stuff. One case is in Peshtigo now and 2 in Marinette six miles from us.

I have a prayer request for the sailors on the USS Theodore Roosevelt that is docked here. They have gotten most off the ship with a lot at some hotels. These are the sailors who were tested and negative for COVID-19. Others are at Naval Base including over 100 who tested positive. They are here because some came down with the virus and something needed to be done. The captain asked for faster help and got fired and the the Secretary of the Navy called him stupid and some other names to the sailors on the ship. He has now resigned.

Mo, good that you can get curb side orders.
Seems like a lot of communities are having Senior Hours.

Cheri Ann, sounds like you are busy.
I heard that using coffee filters between layers of homemade mask made them better.
Sorry about your back, hope it is better soon.
You are sweet to give the children some little gifts to help keep them entertained.
Glad your daughter has been busy but I am sure that was before…

It has rained here off and on mainly at night. We really have needed it.
I had chemo this morning and one more treatment then going to one treatment a month. The cancer doctor wants the urologist to check things but her office is not open very much.
The clinic I get my pharmacy meds from is doing it curb side instead of people going in. That was fine with me as I really did not feel like getting out of the car after chemo. They are not taking cash and I would not have had to pay anything but I got a couple of boxes of extra strength Tylenol and used my credit card.
The return cash from Wendy’s was wet. A friend had told me her’s was wet and the cashier told her they cleaned it before giving it to customers.

Stay safe everyone.

Jane

I got out in the yard today and cleared the leaves out of the side garden. Did some laundry and finished 11 masks. They still need to be washed. We watched a Passover Seder that Dennis Prager had online...interesting.

My back bothers me if I sew too much. Sewed 30 masks, but ran out of elastic so I must wait to complete the rest.

I have an online meeting with my cancer group tomorrow, and Tuesdays we are doing Bible study online. Nice to see faces onZoom, but we all look so tired!

Ran a sticker book for Easter and a couple stuffed lambs across the street to the neighbor's 2 girls. I have one more learn to draw book I will send over next week. I have no grands so no sense holding on to that stuff. I know it's got to be hard to keep them entertained. I will call my Mom tomorrow and see when she needs her meds again. I will have to go pick them up for her.
Daughter's picture was in the Chicago Tribune today. Article about Community Theatres. Nice to see her face!

I did my first order online, then pick up at the curb grocery run. Did it at Sams, worked great. But they didn't have everything I needed so at 6:15 am this morning I was at the local ShopnSave (senior citizen hours). There were 15-20 of us shopping, everyone had on their masks and gloves. Still no TP or other paper products, fortunately I don't need them. No flour or yeast either, but again I still have enough. so I think we're good for another 2-3 wks.

Pray everyone is hanging in there, I try to call at least 1 person from church everyday to check on them, especially those who live alone.

Cheri Ann, thank you.

Mo, glad you have gotten outside and enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine.

I plan to go shopping tomorrow at five in the morning and will have a sign saying FOOD in my car window. When I go for labs and doctor appointments I will use MEDICAL. This is what our governor is requiring. Some people are objecting but we have a lot of young people who are not taking this virus seriously and out gallivanting with no regard to the health of others.

More sailors are being put in hotel rooms. The captain of the USS Theodore Roosevelt, who was fired, has tested positive for COVID-19. He was penalized for asking to get most of the healthy sailors off the ship so there would be space. All the sick ones have been taken to Naval Station and quarantined there as non are sick enough to be hospitalized. The ones in the hotels are restricted to their rooms.

Isolation is getting to me but it is needed.

Stay safe everyone. God is still on His throne!

The weather was nice here, so I washed the porch furniture and set it up for the summer. Hit some golf balls in the back yard, and DH and I played ladder ball. DH also tilled the garden, but we did all this without coming into contact with anyone but each other. Praying the experts are not correct about what this week is going to bring as far as deaths. Unfortunately, several people who have been out grocery shopping tell me that VERY FEW people are abiding by the 6 ft social distancing rule, let alone wearing gloves or mask. I noticed that the traffic on our road is as busy as any other Sunday, so that's not good either.

Jane-glad you are feeling better.

Stay safe ladies.

Today was better.

I got the MRI and then cortisone shots in the knee using an ultrasound. Two weeks from now I will start a series of five shots to put gel between my knee joints to act as cartilage.

I am so thankful not to be in such pain.

God is good!

I have had a terrible rough day and even lying down to rest has been frustrating.
I left before nine for chemo and that doctor tried to give me a steroid shot but had trouble. After chemo I went up to another clinic where I had had the x-ray to get the shot. They want me to have a MRI and then five “gel” shots over five weeks to build up the cartilage. That doctor gave me a prescription for Tylenol 3 that I had filled at my primary care pharmacy. Because the doctor had not had it pre-authorized by my insurance I had to pay $25.
I did not get home until after three.
As I said it has been a hard day for me.
Hang in there ladies we will get through this.

Jane

Mo, it is such a blessing to know Jesus as our Saviour. Glad you were able to stock up on some things. The Depression and WWII were hard times. I remember my Mom talking about them.
Stay safe.

Cheri Ann, I got almost an hour and a half with the chemo in my bladder. My biggest issue now is my knee. I am using the cane all the time because it hurts so much. I use to not use the cane in the house most of the time.
Good that you had food that you have been able to use so you are not going to the store.
I do not plan to go to the store again for awhile but I do need to get gas.
I got water today. I did not get out of the car but called one of the guys who gets the water to the cars as he went by and he got my bottles, filled them and returned them. Because I am using a cane all the time now I had to bring the bottles in one at a time. It did get me out in the sun.

Stay safe everyone.

Jane

Jane, how did chemo go? Praying you are feeling well now.

The President just extended the quarantine, so I guess it will be a really strange Easter. How are you all coping.

I am doing well except for the fact that more money will have to come out of savings. We had just arranged to start taking $ out of our retirement accounts, but advisor doesn't want to take it out until the market goes back up. Praise God we had a good cushion in savings! We are doing OK.

Made some masks. Will finish them and drop them off at JoAnns Fabrics. Maybe pick up milk and eggs and bread. Supposed to get allergy shots Tues. Will see if they are cancelling those or not.

Going to get old photos figured out and purge/organize some more. Slowly cleaning out the freezer.

Yesterday I ventured out to the grocery store for the first time in 2 weeks. Only really NEEDED a few things, but decided since the store wasn't exceptionally crowded like they have been to take advantage and stock up. Any kind of cleaning supply from laundry detergent, dish detergent and of course disinfectants were in short supply. No toilet paper (fortunately I didn't need any) and most other paper product's shelves were bare. They are limiting the eggs, milk etc also to 1-2 items per customer. In my book club we have read a couple of novels about conditions during WWII, I kind of feel like I'm there. I really can't complain, DH and I and all of our children and grandchildren are still healthy, the retirement checks keep coming, the house is well stocked and most of all the Lord is still on the throne, and I know where I'm going after I die!
