Making face masks and walking the dog sums up my life right now. We got the word that hospitals are accepting homemade face masks so I am busy sewing as many as I can before supplies run out.

Beautiful sunny warm day here, so I spent a good bit of time outside just picking up here and there around the yard, and looking at the perennial plants that are sprouting. Yesterday DH planted sugar snap peas, they were last year's seeds, but I think they will do OK. I'm just wondering if more people will plant gardens this year, you know like back during WWII, the victory gardens, I sure feel like we are going through a war. I guess I won't try to get DH to downsize ours this year like I had planned on doing.

Today was the first day that the" pandemic life style" has gotten to me. I guess with all my cleaning being done I just had time on my hands. I didn't sleep much last night either, felt like I had drank lots of caffeine even though I didn't have any, and my irregular heartbeat was bad, so I'm very tired, and that never helps one's emotions. So besides getting outside I spent a little extra time in prayer and Bible reading this morning. Feeling better.

Praying everyone stays safe and keep praying.

I got in a lot of exercise today! Did my Leslie Sansone video, which is 3 miles. Then DH wanted to walk the dog so we did about another mile.

Didn't get as much done around the house as I wanted, got in a good long epsom salts soak though. It's not like I am going anywhere next week though, We finished the puzzle we were working on.

Bathed the dog, cut his nails and cleaned the bird cage yesterday, so that's done. Enjoying the fact that I can get my house fully organized.

Church service will be live streamed tomorrow, we will see how that goes. I sure am glad I am not working in the church office throughout this!

Mo, good to hear you got a lot of cleaning done. I hope your DH is correct also.

From what I understand Guam now has three confirmed cases of COVID-19. Two people who came from the Philippines and one locally. With the proximity of where we are it was a matter of when not if. Our governor has had the skilled nursing facility emptied so COVID-19 patients can be placed there.
One of our church ladies is a RN and demonstrated the best way to really wash our hands to a group of ladies a few days ago. Most people may get their hands wet and use a little soap but do not clean their hands. If you have ever watched them in public bathrooms you know what I mean.
I did make it to church and had help getting back to my car because the area is not paved and gravel is hard to navigate when my knee is not giving me fits as it is right now.
My knee has really been hurting since the last chemo. From what I understand chemo can aggravate arthritis. I took something stronger for pain so hopefully I will be able to sleep better tonight.
Not staying on the computer very long because the leg hurts when sitting.

Stay safe everyone.

Jane

Hum, guess everyone is AWOL including me. emoticon

Jane--I hope all has gone well with your bladder problems, and your over all health.

Nothing much new here except this coronavirus. There have only been 2 confirmed cases in this side of PA. DH and I are at opposite ends of the discussion about how serious this is. The retired nurse in me says all the restrictions are necessary, DH thinks it's overblown. I hope he's right, but I'm pretty sure not. So since nothing is open, I'm doing spring cleaning. Had that on m schedule anyway, but now I have no excuse, did the upstairs bathroom today. Scrubbing down the shower stall and all the cabinets was the hardest on my arms and shoulders. I may just go in before I go to bed, open all the cabinets and the linen closet and just enjoy how clean and organized they are. Simple pleasures of life!!

Stay well ladies.

Thurs got in exercise and yoga. Fri got in an exercise video, and Fri night did some dancing at a sock hop put on by church. Great fun!

Yesterday Dan took me out for Valentine's day, and today after church I took a very long nap! Must have heeded it!

Facing chemo on Thursday. It will be in the bladder which is less invasive.

Mo, yes, we have people from Australia, Japan and the states here right now. I live in the flight path of the planes coming in for a landing.

I had a hard class today. The special needs boy was terrible! I could not get him to settle down and stop doing things to other children. I give the children a chance to pray and asked him. He said yes and then just stared at me so I moved on. He pitched a fit. I finally told him no balloon and he did all sorts of things including touching an organ and then kicking it. When I pulled him away he started hitting at me. After class I told the mom that I could not have him in class unless there was another adult to care for him. I was in tears and really upset. I have never had a child so out of control.
I love to teach but today was awful.

This evenings service was good with singing, praise and prayer request.

We must all be very busy or just depressed because of winter. I will be honest and say I'm both. I definitely have Seasonal Affective Disease, and living in the Pgh area isn't good. We were named 1 of the worst places to live in the US if you are affected by SAD.

DH and I had a wonderful time at the church's Valentine's Day Dinner last night. The speaker had been married 50 years, and he gave a very good Bible based message on how to have a good/happy marriage without being "preachy". Kept it light and fun. The food was good and we won the "How well do you know your mate" game.

We are debating about going to Georgia or Florida mid week. They seem to be getting a lot of rain, actually flooding, so we hate to drive that far and be stuck indoors which defeats the purpose of going.

I'm sewing Japanese kimonas for my granddaughters' (the ones who are in Okinawa) 18 inch dolls, and knitting a shawl for me for Spring, just trying to keep myself from eating too much when I am cooped up. Jane, BTW my son is in Guam for the month of February for some military exercise. Exercising every other day with my video, and plan on starting to go to the line dancing class the senior center is starting.

That's about it here. Praying all of you have a wonderful Lord's day, and wishing for Spring!!

Exercised 3 days on a row, now to keep this up! Mom fell and so was in the ER and then they kept her overnight. Oh my, I really do too much sitting, I need the exercise so my back doesn't hurt all of the time!

Goal is to do some type of exercise 7 days this week, and continue that on indefinitely unless there is a very good reason! emoticon emoticon

Of course all of the other stuff applies as well- Good list Poetlkn2lose!!

My Mom initiated all of this, but I don't think she was prepared for the stress, feelings that go along with it. I think it will be ready at the end of next week. I am praying they find a place both of them live and can live out their years in.

Mo, good to hear your colon is clean. That is one of the things I need to do this year. It has been 10 years since my last one.
Good that you have lost the weight.

Cheri Ann, I understand your momís feelings about downsizing when she is not ready. My sons that were on island did that when I was hospitalized a few years ago and then spent a few weeks at one of my sons houses. One came in and filled a trash container full. He threw away my stamping box and other things like some genealogy papers that frustrate me even today.
Trying to get Medicare and another insurance to take care of your medical bills is a real bear. Hope you get it done so you and your DH can relax some.

Things did not go so well for me. I had trouble in recovery and finally had a catheter put in over night. Where my blood pressure had been very low after surgery in the past this time it was up with the upper numbers in the 170ís or more. I am finally feeling better but it has been over a week. I did not go to church Sunday and missed lunch with the Monday Lunch Bunch but I did make it to church Wednesday evening.
The lady who interprets for our deaf was not there and I was concerned that I would have to do it but our Pastor did because his FIL was teaching the lesson. Afterward I told him that I was afraid I did not have the energy to do the interperting. He said he was surprised how tired he was. It does take a lot of energy both physically and mentally. I hope we will eventually have some more of the deaf community join us.

Jane

Mo, glad that's over with for a bit. Hooray for the weight loss! I have thought about joining myself.

How did everything go Jane?

I am just hanging on for now. My parents are trying to sell their house, and the clearing out bit is emotionally charged. My Mother is mad at all of us, and I wasn't even there when things went south. I may call tomorrow and see if that goes well.

Dad was in the ER and in hospital for a day. Dr thinks his meds were too strong, he's home now.

I am in charge of the finances at my home and this Medicare stuff is driving me nuts. Trying to get it all worked out so it is an automatically withdrawn. Oh my, have to have Feb already paid for to do it, and for our part B we sent in a check at the beginning of the month and it still isn't cashed. So more phone calls tomorrow. My stomach is in knots today and DH is not helping. He keeps moaning about " we are going to be broke and living in a shelter". We still have taken NO money out of our annuities or stocks, so I am sure we are in no danger, but it's not helpful as I am already stressed.

Goal is to call tomorrow and get things all sorted hopefully without having to write them any more checks!

Itís been awhile, but just not a lot going on. I had a colonoscopy today, everything was fine, so thatís over for another 3 yrs. my mom died from colon cancer so I have to get the test often.

Iím going to Weight Watchers again, have lost 5 pounds the past 2 weeks. I just need the accountability of weighing in each week.

DH is still having hip trouble. I think it is time he call the ortho guys again to see about the possibility of removing the hip spurs.
