Yes, I am a writer. I write poetry. I've enjoyed some small press. I have no delusions about my skill level. For a couple of years, I co-published an e-zine. We were actually listed in Poet's Market. We published truly gifted poets. In my personal library, poetry is my largest collection.

I write some fiction. I write a great deal of non-fiction, essays and reviews. I'm a YA blogger and literacy advocate.

For a short-time, I was a freelance writer as well.

Simple question, but a complicated answer! I've written stories since I was about eleven years old - short stories, and longer ones that stalled! I've been an avid reader all my life too.

My career path was broadcast journalism and public relations - I've written articles, news stories, commercials and other scripts, news releases, web site content, and opinion pieces. I enjoy persuasive writing.

Currently, I am a freelance editor and writer, but I also write for me and am seeking to be published. I spend a good chunk of my professional time helping OTHER people get published :-) which I am proud to do. I also do a good amount of writing for my pastor - prayers, stories and news releases for the church.

My PERSONAL writing loves are mysteries, romantic suspense, and paranormal mysteries, but I do struggle with fiction. I write non-fiction and have better success with it: personal essays, and family history, and some poetry (which comes in fits and starts).

So, yes, I'm a writer! :-)

There is something to be said about writing. For me it is therapy. My problem is I wish I was good and everyone wanted to read what I write! I can work on writing better but I can't make anyone want to read it, so like you, I do it for me.

I mostly write non-fiction academic theory. I really love it, actually!

But I also dabble in (bad) poetry and (bad) fiction. My creative writing is really just for me.

I've kept a journal since I was old enough to write, and writing has always been an act of liberation meant only for me.

I love to write but don't think I am very good at it. Once in a while I will write a poem but usually I start a story about love that falls apart and then my story falls apart!

I write poetry and am trying to write short fiction, too.
