dh "sailed" through open-heart surgery, and will be sent home on Monday -- two of the kids are here, bossing me around, and I'm rolling with the punches much better than I expected when I joined this team - I'm hoping the stress is using any excess cals I've taken in, but I've not snacked, not binged, and am using my kids instead of food. 8-)
I think I'll be ok, after all.

Have had a rough couple weeks. Gained a few lbs. Trying to do things different, my nutritionist wants me to give her a week or two worth of meal plans and other plan to get back on track. I think that is going to be more difficult than what I thought. lol It's going to be a fun weekend getting myself back on track, but, I got this!!!!

Today some thing happened to me that has made me very upset. Today was my last day with the therapist I have been seeing for a year now. I was so upset I went out and bought a bag of potato chips, not a huge bag but a medium size one and ate it all up. I am not having feelings of having a binge and do not call this one. I did not eat dinner and do not feel like eating any thing else tonight. I feel like a hole is ripped out of me right where my heart is. I have been getting extra hugs from my hubby to help with this feeling and that does help.

Tammy reading your book is a good idea. I can't get it at my library and am interested in it so many people have got good help from it.

I was good today, I went to Starbucks but only got an ice water. I made my own coffee at home and it was good. Have not heard anything from the crazy lady above us so no stress.

Having a rough time today. First, I decided to tweak my plan a bit, which I'm actually happy that I did. Even though I made some changes and didn't have some food in the house, I was able to make adjustments with other things until I can go shopping tomorrow.

Also, I realized that the magnesium supplement I've been taking is actually causing me headaches. I've had headaches (though not migraines) from Monday since I started taking them and today it was pretty bad (though again, not a migraine). It started soon after I took the mag supplement, which reminded me that when I've tried to take mag supplements before, this also happened. It's ironic because the whole reason why I started to take a mag supplement was because it's supposed to help prevent migraines! But I'm weird that way, as feverfew, another herb that's supposed to prevent migraines, also gives me headaches.

But I always feel down when I have a headache/migraine, especially when it doesn't go away.

Third, it's Wednesday, which has been a dangerous time for me in the past months. This is the day when I start to think about binging for the weekend (and the weekend binge begins on Thursdays, so that's tomorrow). It's a habit I've formed for every week in the past few months.

So I'm kind of fighting a few things today but I did my day in the 100 Days Of Weight Loss book, which helped a lot. I am not going to give in to the habit of binge eating for the weekend. I'm going to continue my good work. It's tough when I"m feeling so crappy with the pain in my head, as it's much easier for me to stick with my healthy habits when I'm feeling the benefits of them, which is most of the time. It's when the headaches/migraines start that I feel like what I'm doing isn't improving my health and I should just junk it.

I was so stressed yesterday that I lost my mind and did something I haven't done in 5 or 6 months ... I ate a package of Hostess Cupcakes and drank a Wild Cherry Pepsi. And yes, I feel real guilt this morning.

We went through that for four years with the bulb going out every other month so I know how you feel. They finely fixed it last month but left a big mess in my kitchen. My throw rug had to be thrown out.
I am making my own coffee at home, no more Starbucks. Made a cup this morning and it was good.

Hi everyone,
Today is a bit more stressful than yesterday because this morning, the light in my kitchen showed signs of going out. I live in a tiny apartment where the kitchen is in a dark corner, so the light in it isn't a regular bulb light that I can just change myself - it's one of those long florescent lights that I have to call the maintenance people to come and change. I am a very introverted and shy person and even having the maintenance guy come (even though he's nice and tries to get the work done as quickly as possible) is an intrusion. I am also trying to work on getting less agitated and anxious over small stuff like that which interrupt the flow of my day. So I'm going on with business as usual and when the maintenance guy gets here, he gets here. I won't get anxious about when he'll come or disrupt my day waiting for him.

Good afternoon, all! Restarting today after 4 days of eating junk food. Threw out all of the extra junk food I still had lying around (I always overbuy) and went for a morning walk, so my day started out very well. Chatted with my parents on Facetime. My dad is slowly recovering from the cancer surgery but it's still a long road ahead of him with getting the skin cancer cells removed (the surgery was for a secondary cancer to his lymph nodes) and then radiation treatment. Also, a patch of skin cancer appeared on the other side of his face but it's the BCC cancer, so it's the mildest one. It's still quite a scare and my motivation to finally do something about my binge eating.

Also started Day 1 of the 100 Days Of Weight Loss book and I actually enjoyed it. I'm very hopeful that it will help me explore my binge eating issues and overcome them once and for all.

Stuck in the house yesterday due to a health issue. Don't worry, it's nothing dreadfully serious and will go away. At any rate, stuck inside on a weekend is a high danger situation for me. I do best on the weekends when we're out hiking or something. Keeping busy and out of the house, away from food, is my strategy for the weekends.

There I was, can't get out of the house. Food calling to me. I was determined to find other things to keep myself busy with. I kept telling myself that eating the food wouldn't solve anything. If I was eating out of boredom, it would only distract me for a little bit but the scale would take days to recover. If I was eating out of the stress of the upcoming work week, it doesn't make me better prepared.

I'm not saying it was easy, but it worked. I made it through the day without going off program. And this morning I was so happy to see another pound off the scale. WHOO HOO!

Today is more of the same. I'm going to use the same strategy. Wishing you all a very successful Sunday!

I have been a little under the weather the past few days. I have really over done it with the exercising and my Angina flew into high gear. I feel better today than I have in several days and I am gonna try the "seated arm" video from Coach Nicole. But if my chest starts acting up, I will stop.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Had some deep emotions come up at work today with a career coach (more on that in my blog). Trying to be present with those emotions this afternoon versus shying away from them and numbing myself with food. Thus far successful.

Here's hoping you are all also having a successful Friday!

I had a great run for 9 days lowering my set point (I thought)

but these last 4 days are clearly back to where I was....

just sayin,
I feel GREAT when I just eat fruits and veggies

so then there's that bread and sweets jumping back in

I ran out of Ezekiel sesame bread and that is when the shift began

Was up 2 pounds at the doctors so had to change my tracker. Started off the day on track and not going to let the "bad" news get me down. I am 18 days binge free. I am getting a lot of stress from the crazy woman who lives above me but not going to let her get me into stress eating or off track. I am going to keep busy and make wise food choices.

ABETTERME4EVER Way to go with the positive thinking! :)

BLUEJAY1961 Sorry that you're sick!

GGMAKAT Bring on the positivity!

Rocky start today... I had a hard time getting to sleep last night and am just aching all over. I've managed coffee and breakfast, and am looking at the massive pile of work I Could be focusing on and trying to decide what to tackle today. Trying not to spend too much time worrying, rather taking everything one day at a time (a skill I struggle with but keep going for)

Starting day off much better. There is so much on my plate, and fretting about it certainly doesn't help a thing--it just gets me into a non-acceptance mode of thinking--and everything I look at begins to be seen through a negative lens. It just is what it is. It is wishing it were something else that gets me into trouble :-) Positive thoughts for the day (at least going into it) :-)

GGMAKAT, be kind to yourself in the difficult time. So glad to hear that checking into SP every day, even when you don't have a lot of time, is helping you keep your balance.

Fell off hard today. Flat on my face. Am not sure I'm past it. A hard work week, coupled with big work celebrations, equaled Dawn's bad choices today. I blogged about it if anyone wants to read a longer entry, but will spare you all that many (MANY) words here in the group.

So very glad this group is here.
Let's get out there and have a great Thursday!

I am eating small meals through out the day today and low salt, to hopefully see a drop in the scale again. I go to the doctor's tomorrow and don't want to see a gain.
