Good luck on that car repair. I don't know much about cars but I know if you have an honest mechanic it might not be to bad.

Nomi - When we can train our thinking to see such "bargains" as the one dollar burger for what they really are in fats & unhealthy eating - it becomes a lot easier to pass them up.

Vicki - I do understand wanting to make things as easy as possible with the wrist situation & certainly meals free of the need for a fork & knife is one way of doing that. I would like to suggest using large lettuce leaves in place of the bread on sandwiches as a way to cut carbohydrates back. I enjoy a sandwich made that way & you may, too.

I am happy to report that I am on a wonderful streak of making my days count (my goal for this month of August) - making excellent choices around food intake (always a potential stumbling block for this compulsive over-eater).

May we all make wise choices, in all areas of life, this day & every day to come!

God bless!

Ima

Vicki how awful hope you heal quickly.

I did pretty good today, except for a bacon burger at BK. I couldn't pass up a burger for $1.00. Stuff like that is my downfall. The rest of the day was fine.

Have a good evening.

THANK YOU. I'm not looking forward to having staples taken out. Makes me a little sick thinking about it.
Right now it's difficult even trying to worry about diet and exercise. It's difficult enough just doing every day things. I'm eating more carbs than I like but it's easier for me to handle than having to cook and prepare foods that require forks and knives.

emoticon Went walking this morning on some unfamiliar streets. Ended up at dead end after dead end. I knew the direction of my house but couldn't get there.By the time I found familiar surroundings I had walked double my usual and was having some pains and nearly out of water. It was anther 20 minutes to home. A little longer cool down and a few extra stretches but am having some leg pains. May have to take tomorrow as a rest day - or maybe not. Haven't decided yet if the extra long walk was a good thing or a bad thing. I'll decide tomorrow.

I BROKE THE WRIST AND DISLOCATED THE BIG JOINT BONE. THEY HAD TO PUT IN 3 PLATES AND 8 SCREWS TO GET EVERYTHING BACK LIKE IT SHOULD BE. IT WAS A REALLY BAD BREAK.

Today was a rough day. I did'nt do that bad but I feel like I really did really bad. I did okay with food and for a treat I made the SP chocolate angel food cake and I enjoyed that. It was what happened later that has me feeling bad. There was I devils food bundt cake with frosting I looked at it but did not have it ......at first.....before I knew it I had a piece in my hand and ate it. I will say it was a little to sweet for me but I discovered that after I ate it. I did do my exercise today and I will do it tomorrow. I will go back on track. Good luck to everyone.

GL - We all make occasional decisions around food that upon reflection we wish we had done better with. Chalk that up as a learning experience, my EE Teammate!

Vicki - Take care of your precious self. I am praying that your pain level lessens minute by minute.

We Visions have had a very enjoyable weekend. This gal made super choices around food intake & got in extra minutes of exercise. I am so very thankful to the Lord God for His help in that wonderful turn of events.

May we all make the coming week one of successes in all areas!

WELL, IF YOU'VE BEEN READING MY BLOGS YOU KNOW I HAD SURGERY ON MY WRIST AND ENDED UP WITH 3 PLATES AND 8 SCREWS IN MY WRIST. ALSO WAS IN THE HOSPITAL OVERNIGHT. IT'S BEEN A ROUGH FEW DAYS BUT MY WRIST IS DOING BETTER. ONCE THE SWELLING GOES DOWN MORE I'LL BE HAPPIER. BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE. I CAN USE MY HAND A TINY BIT AS LONG AS IT'S NOTHING HEAVY. TOOK EVERYTHING OFF OF IT SO I COULD FINALLY WASH IT AND CLEAN IT UP. PUT THE WRAPS BACK ON A LITTLE LOOSIER SO THE SWELLING WILL GO DOWN A LITTLE FASTER. ONE AREA HAS 12 STAPLES AND THE OTHER AREA HAS 8 STAPLES. I KNOW IT WON'T BE ANY FUN WHEN THOSE COME OUT.
HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING A GOOD SUNDAY.

Hello all, hope everyone is having a good week.

I gained 4 pounds in the last two weeks but did not let it get to me, ok I was a little sad but knew what I had done and am fixing the problem. No more night time feeding fringes. I am only having one fruit after dinner if I have saved the cal. for it. Last night I did not so I went right to bed.

Haven't checked in for several days. things have been crazy and I haven't had much access to the computer. Sadly I have gained a few pounds the last two weeks. Why is it so hard to get the weight off and so easy to put it back on? emoticon

Didn't go for the morning walk because of thunder and lightening. This evening the humidity was like walking into a heat wall. Missing one day isn't so bad if I don't let it turn into several days.

Been a little lonely and restless today but haven't eaten over it.

My day was good also.

Made good choices when I went out to eat. Went to Ruby Tuesdays.

I know I must lose some of this weight. It is effecting my cholesterol. I'm on medication and it was not good this last blood test.

I agree Ima - I am co-leading another group and I have some other irons in the fire, so I am throttling back on the games and focusing on the stuff that makes a bigger impact on my goals.

I'm glad to read everyone is on track or getting back on track! Yesterday was my roommate's birthday and I ate a little too much at dinner, but I played volleyball for a bit afterwards so I do not feel the day was lost. Tonight is Zumba night!

I see that I am not alone in that at times I find myself struggling to stay focused on the path ahead of me. I am determined to make August count for success toward goal & I hope you are also. emoticon

One thing I am going to do for myself is spend less time playing the game threads - to me they are so enjoyable; however, except for the connection to some wonderful "Sparkers", they don't do much for helping me achieve what I originally came to SP for.

So there is Ima's first goal for August which will result in more time given to exercise. emoticon

God bless us all with an August to look back on with pride in accomplishments along this often challenging journey!

I did much better today but I am hungry tonight. I still have room for a snack. This really is a day by day journey. I did not do to great today I ate entenman's cake and not just one piece. There was not a good reason for me eating it. I wasn't upset, angry or sad. I just did it. Now I am upset with myself. I do so much better if I start my plan as soon as I get up. I am going to have to figure out what to do when I have to go out early. Any ideas would be appreciated.

My first week was going great! Right up until the weekend, the weekends are my down falls. Friday i did great and made my own dinner, but Saturday i succumed to my cravings and had pizza and went out for breakfast! emoticon

I have all my finals for my course next week and i always crack under pressure!
I won't let it get me down though. The first few weekends will be hard, and once i'm done school hopefully less stress will make my emotional eating easier to stop!

UPDATE: July 29-2012
Staying off the scale only lasted a few days, but in that few days my measurements INCREASED 8 INCHES. Sooooooo I told hubby last night that I was back on my old low carb plan I did in the 80's ( I lost 105 lbs in 13 months and kept it off for over 20 years), and he could eat what he wanted but I was going back to what I KNOW will work for me. So he knows better than to push foods on me that won't be on my plan.
I am sick to death over my newest numbers but that will change as quickly as I can make it happen. I'm going to give myself 2 years to lose 100 lbs. It may take longer but that's the goal for now and I won't let myself get off plan again.
